About jane stanton

We are David and Jane and have run a ski chalet for the last 8 winter seasons in the Aosta Valley and are BASI qualified ski instructors and we offer FREE ski lessons when booking our Ski Chalet Holidays in the winter. We also run a summer season and with the addition of the JACUZZI in the garden (refreshing in the summer and hot and steamy in the winter) we feel set for both summer and winter seasons, helping our clients with local knowledge of the area, places to visit, eat and to enjoy this vast fertile but mountainous area. This is a wonderful base for exploring the Aosta Valley with its, castles, vineyards, cheese making factories and an abundance of outdoor sports and the winter ski resort is ideal for both beginners and experienced skiers with the option of also going to La Thuile and Courmayeur all on one ski pass!!

Why jane stanton chose Sarre

We are centrally located for exploring the whole of the Aosta Valley during the summer months plus there is brilliant skiing during winter with 3 other resorts in close proximity which you can go to all on one ski pass. We love the Italian people, the food, the ambience and the wine is of course fantastico!!

Jane is an English teacher and can offer English lessons to visitors at the chalet, David is a squash coach and is happy to play or coach anyone anytime of the year and he's also a reasonable Tennis player and always up for a game in the summer. Both David and Jane taught jive at the surrey university so if you fancy learning jive they are happy to accommodate a lesson or two!

The property is set amongst vineyards but just 5 minutes from the lovely Roman City of Aosta.

We have useful local knowledge, however the area is vast and we discover more and more each day.

The area is steeped in history & is a wine growing area, also making cheese & growing fruits of many kinds. It is very agricultural and particularly cow farming is very prevalent.

There is a huge abundance of outdoor activities which you can see listed on our website. There are castles, art galleries, concerts and wood carving is a much loved Valdostaine work

Rustic Italian house with beautiful views of Sarre

  • 5 of 5

This is my 9th stay with the lovely hosts Jane and Dave in Aosta Pila.

I've always chosen the catered stay because they give their guests a taste of Italy by serving delicious Italian dishes with free wine and beer.

The atmosphere is very homely and friendly.

There is even a Jacuzzi for relaxing after a hard days ski ing.

Jane and Dave are Level-2 BASI Instructors and give free lessons 3-mornings a week which is a great bonus as they can accommodate for all levels of skiers.

You are taken to and collected from the Ski-Lift during your stay so everything is catered for and nothing is too much trouble.

Jane and Dave will take you into the Roman town on their nights off for sightseeing , enjoying the shops and numerous restaurants.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to singles, couples, families or groups of all ages.

A wonderful ski holiday with JDSki in Aosta

  • 5 of 5

Jane and David offer a terrific ski package holiday for singles, couples, groups and families at Chalet Enchante in Aosta. Their friendly, comfortable chalet hospitality is augmented by the complete service for helping skiers get to and from fantastic Pila resort (or other nearby ski fields, if desired), hire ski gear, and purchase lift passes. They are also qualified and very capable ski instructors, so provide ski guiding and lessons for those who wish it as part of the package.

I'm a single skier and have stayed with Jane and David several times now. It's always a pleasure, and my skiing has markedly improved under their patient, skilled coaching. I can unreservedly recommend JDSki to anyone who wants to have a happy ski holiday in beautiful northern Italy! Elinor (from Australia)

Summer Holiday

  • 5 of 5

After the drive down from Calais, it was lovely to get to the apartment and find it exactly as advertised and also to have such a warm welcome from Jane and David that included a starter pack for that all important cup of tea!

The accommodation was clean and well equipment to give us everything that we needed, with a good selection of DVD's for the children to watch. We were also offered a choice of rooms to move the children into which was helpful. Jane and David have put information leaflets into the apartment to list some of the local tourist haunts, but most usefully they have put their own brochure together to show what they have found locally and this includes scenic drives, lakes, waterfalls, pretty villages etc which are not listed in brochures. We enjoyed visiting numerous of these. The booklet also contained information on restaurants stating whether they were expensive or not and also whether they spoke English - essential for us lazy mono lingual Englishmen!

To supplement this list, Jane and David were always available if required to give some additional advice or route guidance to help make any planned visit even smoother. They are both excellent hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to all our friends - it may not appear on the main tourist agenda, but there is so much to see and do here from the Roman remains in Aosta, the electric bicycles to tour the winery, the white water rafting, the magnificent views, visiting the local ski resorts, swimming in the mountain lakes etc etc.

After a hard days exploring, the Jacuzzi is available and, despite the warm weather, is a lovely way to unwind.

As a family with 3 children we all had an excellent holiday.

Apartment with great views in a stunning area.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this property. David and Jane were very helpful and armed us with local knowledge including detailed walking maps. This helped us to have some great days out in places like Lilaz in the Gran Paradisio national park which otherwise we may not have found.

Bella vacanza

  • 5 of 5
