Return visit as wonderful as anticipated

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit. Because we've been before we knew what to expect and we were not disappointed, it was as lovely and charming as we had remembered. If peace and quiet is what you are after then this is the place and is set in beautiful countryside. There are lots of towns and villages within driving distance so it's a super base to explore the area. We find this gite so wonderful that we are planning to go back again in 2017.

Our Perfect Haven

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd stay at Petite Ballade and on the drive down through France we were thinking," will it be as good as we remembered". Well it was all that and more.

A perfect place to be as active or as relaxed as you want to be.

The Gite is in tip top condition and has every facility that anyone may require; the garden is just beautiful, private and self contained.

Dawn and Roger are not just perfect hosts they are now lovely friends who really do go the extra mile to make your holiday perfect, nothing is too much trouble for them and always on hand for help and advice but never intrusive.

We had a fantastic and substantial welcome pack, the best of any holiday home we have ever rented.

Can't wait for next year as we have already booked to visit again.

Thank you both for an amazing retreat in the most lovely surroundings.

Excellent in Every Way

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Petite Ballade and once again everything was perfect. (Except for the awful weather !!). Dawn and Roger are charming and helpful as ever, the cottage ticks all the boxes for a comfortable and peaceful stay. Everything is prepared to a high standard for arriving guests. The welcome pack is substantial and interesting. The local wine is very drinkable, Monsieur Christian Morel at Domaine de Bordes, a couple of miles down the road will be pleased to offer tasteing at his vineyard.

Comfortable property in tranquil country location

  • 5 of 5

We received a warm welcome from the owners together with an extensive welcome pack, and they were always on hand for assistance if needed. The property is very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. The owners have done an excellent job converting what was an old barn to a high standard, so much so that it felt like a 'new build'. Excellent wifi offset the lack of French TV channels although several English TV channels are available. The facilities available made our stay a pleasure despite the disappointing weather. Highly recommended.

Wonderful gite in a delightful part of France

  • 5 of 5

We received a lovely welcome from Dawn and Roger who proved to be superb hosts. A really excellent gite in a very interesting area for visiting historical sites and markets but also a brilliant spot for relaxing.

The property was superbly clean, with excellent facilities and I would certainly hope to revisit in the future.

Great gite, super location and fabulous owners/hosts. We had a wonderful week here in June 2015? The owners went out of their way to help where they could and while they live next door they gave us privacy. The gite is very well kitted out with everything needed and lots of extra touches like a lovely welcome pack. It was very clean and immaculately presented, in fact it was better than we had anticipated. Thank you Dawn and Roger, we highly recommend this property and plan to return next summer.
