About the Owner

I am retired and split my time living in Scotland and Chamonix. I love the mountain environment and all the activities you can do there. I am lucky enough to be able to experience 2 such wonderful and contrasting locations.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

A group of eight stayed at the chalet over February half term. Prior to our stay, Paul responded quickly and thoroughly to any queries we had. We were emailed careful directions to the chalet from the town which became very useful as we arrived following a heavy snowfall.

Once we arrived, we were greeted by Nigel, the property manager, who was exceptional.

The chalet is beautiful, views incredible and every facility we could have hoped for - it truly felt like home for a week.

It is located about a ten minute walk from the main town and bus stops (steep hill included) but is very close to Brevent where you can get a lift up the slopes.

We can not recommend this chalet enough and once again would like to thank you! A fantastic holiday!

From the Owner

Chamonix is a wonderful town nestled at the foot of the most dramatic mountain landscape you can imagine. It is not renowned as the mountaineering capital of the world for nothing. It is extremely accessible from Geneva being an hours drive away. And it is centrally located to allow you to visit Italy through the MB tunnel, a short drive through into the Swiss Valais region or out of the Chamonix valley to visit the beautiful Limestone hills and mountains of the Haute Savoie. The area is a playground for climbing, walking, biking, paragliding...or you can just sit back in the sun and take in the peace and quiet of the mountains and enjoy the local food and wine.

Further Details:

Chalet des Aiguilles is situated in the much sought after "Les Moussoux" area of Chamonix. One of the original hamlets, les Moussoux sits on the south-facing slopes just to the north-west of the town centre. The chalet is in the heart of the village on Route des Moussoux, close to its junction with Montée de la Croix de Moussoux.

It is an easy walk to the centre of Chamonix, 750 metres on foot downhill to the main shopping street, Rue Paccard (10 minutes walk), but it is sensible to have a vehicle for access to supermarkets and the rest of the amenities in Chamonix. The nearest restaurant is the Auberge du Bois Prin, a short walk along Route des Moussoux. There is a huge choice of places to dine out in the town and there full details and suggestions in the welcome pack in the chalet on your arrival.

For access to skiing, the chalet is a (flat) 500 metre walk to Plan Praz, the access to the Brévent skiing area, which is linked to the Flégère skiing area. The bus, for access to the other skiing areas, can also be taken from Plan Praz.

Facilities

From the Owner

The property is just 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of town but it is located in a quiet and authentic quarter of the town. It is situated on a S facing hillside with stunning views across to the world famous Chamonix Aiguilles and Mont Blanc. In the winter the Brevent ski lift is only a 400m level walk away but you can also visit 3 other ski areas within a few minutes drive, experience the famous off-piste ski down the Vallee Blanche or pop through the Mont Blanc tunnel for some lovely sunny relaxed skiing in Courmayeur. In summer the town offers something for everyone: for the ambitious there is high level mountaineering but the valley offers beautiful and easily accessible trail walking and running, mtn biking and there are numerous sports activities for the children.
