House in Fron Goch Nr. Bala, within the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, Wales - Located Near A Working Farm, But In Its Own Large Private Gardens

Three bedrooms each with a large en-suite private bathroom. A modern furnished living room with Sky+, DVD, CD/iPod docking station, log burning fire and unlimited WiFi are provided. The well equipped kitchen has all the home from home accessories and the large conservatory with dinning table and comfortable sofas provides a wonderful place to sit, dine, relax and soak up the stunning views. The cottage is set in its own private landscaped gardens near to a working farm and is located a short distance from Bala town with all its shops and wide choice of activities. We are also only a few hundred yards from the National White water rafting centre. Centrally located for access to the activities across North Wales and only a short drive from the beautiful beaches on the west coast of Wales. The area is ideal for those wishing to do some walking, cycling, family activities or simply relaxing and enjoying the peace and scenery.

About the Owner

Our family have lived in North Wales since 1989. We live in Flint and I am a retired Police Officer from North Wales Police and Jen is a Mental Health Nurse working for Betsi Cadwaladr NHS Trust. We have 3 adult children who love Garth Isaf as much as we do.

Both Jen and I saw this house in the spring of 2013 and decided that this was the house that we wanted to retire to. In the meantime however (whilst Jen is still working), we have decided to rent our house out as a holiday home so other people can enjoy it.

Both Jen and I are very proud of Garth Isaf and we appreciate people visit for a relaxing holiday. We both want guests to enjoy the experience and go away wanting to come back. We make the house as clean and comfortable as we possibly can to further this aim.

Amazing stay for New Year

We stayed at this lovely cottage to celebrate new year, we fancied something different but this far surpassed our expectations! Pictures really dont do it justice, top to bottom the cottage is absolutely pristine.

Arrived at night and it was lovely with the log fire on and ordered a takeaway, was lovely and homely. The following day in the light however was a different story again. The views are picturesque, its such a lovely peaceful setting, was great to get away from everything.

In the morning took the kids out to see the animals which they loved (fresh eggs!!!!) The place really has everything you can think of (you even get a handy booklet to assist with your stay.)

Would stay here again without hesitation. Cant think of a single negative.

Lovely cottage with stunning views

Most exciting holiday we have ever had! We didn't feel like going home at the end. This wonderful cottage gave us a homely feeling. It is better than what it says on the website! The views from the conservatory is absolutely magnificent..

Kids loved the farm animals and enjoyed talking to Mike the neighbour. He was more than happy to show us around and introduce us to his animals. This cottage is close to all the attractions in and around Bala. Would definitely recommend this great cottage.

A perfect haven in a heavenly place

We booked this lovely cottage to celebrate a special b'day with friends we needed somewhere that provided a home from home what we got was everything and more !! A place where you can feel at home but also on holiday , chill , relax every room fitted out to make sure all needs are met !! Especially the conservatory.. Followed by the warm glow of the log burner to take the chill off ( one summers eve!!) ..

Not forgetting the added extra's freshly laid eggs ,the adorable neighbours the piglets ( & Mike the farmer )

If you are thinking should we book .. Just do it xx you won't regret it !!

Fantastic Cottage

We were welcomed by Pete, the owner when we arrived with a bottle of wine and Easter eggs for the children which was a lovely touch. The cottage is beautiful, very well equipped and very clean. The views are just outstanding and it is a great place to relax and unwind. Our children had a wonderful time visiting the animals on the farm which is on the other side of the gate. They helped feed the pigs, saw a calf being born and collected the eggs daily. The farmer is very friendly and happy to chat when he has the time. There is plenty of information on things to do and see and maps of the local area too. We were extremely fortunate with the weather which added to our stay and we had one of the best holidays we've ever had. There are walks directly from the house and the white water centre just down the road. Lake Bala is a short drive away and it is in a good location to explore Snowdonia. I would highly recommend this cottage and hope to go back again some day.

Location

From the Owner

We both love the Bala area because of its beauty and tranquility. We fell in love with the house the first time we saw it, the views across the valley are incredible and from the minute we arrived life's stresses just disappeared. Bala is only a short distance from major towns and cities but feels like it is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of life. The location is ideal for trips to the mid Wales coastal towns and their beautiful beaches, whilst it is still convenient for the attractions along the North Wales coast and only a little over one hour to Chester. The house is rurally located and surrounded by the beautiful Snowdonia National Park with its walks and other activities.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beaches are the beautiful sandy west coast beaches. These are at resorts such as Barmouth (40 mins drive), Porthmadog (30 mins drive) and Black Rock sands with it miles of sandy beaches (40 mins drive). The resorts of the North Wales coast, Llandudno, Conway, Colwyn Bay etc are approximately 1hours drive away.

Travel:

Central for Liverpool John Lennon airport (70 miles) and Manchester airport (80 miles), also Holyhead ferry terminal to Ireland is only 65 miles away. The use of a car is recommended.

Further Details:

Bala has a good selection of shops that will provide everything for groceries to bike hire. Two supermarket type shops, a number of butchers, bakers and greengrocers. There are all the main mbanks, a post office, chemist and several fast food restaurants (Chinese, kebab, pizza and fish and chips). The other shops can provide everything from outdoor clothing, fishing tackle and bait, jewellery, gifts and even a chocolate shop that sells chocolate pizzas!

There is a large hotel with al a carte restaurant and several pubs that also sell food.

The town has its own leisure centre with swimming pool, gym and cafe etc. The lake boasts a large adventure centre which can provide a range of activities including sailing, windsurfing, climbing, gorge walking, archery, kayaking, canoeing, etc.

Fishing is available at both Bala lake and other lakes in the area. Bikes can be hired from a shop in Bala for periods of a few hours and upwards. The National Whitewater Rafting Centre is only a couple of hundred yards away and can provide safe and secure whitewater rafting for families or extreme kayaking for the more adventurous. We are centrally based for accessing many of the activities and attractions within North Wales and the beautiful west coast beaches and resorts such as Barmouth, Black Rock sands, Portmeirion, Harlech etc are 30 minutes drive away. There are a wide choice of walks in the vicinity ranging from leisurely strolls to treks up mountains as mount Snowdon is only a short distance away.

Our beautiful home offers 3 large bedrooms each with its own en suite bathroom. There is a large well equipped kitchen and a conservatory that has a dining table with six chairs, a settee and two armchairs. The conservatory offers stunning views across the valley and the peace and tranquillity of the area makes this one of the favorite rooms in the house. Garth Isaf offers guests a wonderful place to live and a luxurious home to either sit in and relax or return to after a long day of activities. The large landscaped gardens provide a great place to enjoy a glass of wine whilst having a BBQ and the unlimited WiFi and games station allows people to satisfy their technology needs.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The property is no smoking and due to the location and for people with allergies, we do not allow any pets. Each bedroom has its own large en-suite bathroom. The owners have tried to supply everything that guests will need to make their stay feel like a home from home, especially in the kitchen. Home delivery is available from Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco for those wishing to do an Internet shop. The local co-op will also deliver your shopping. The owners will try and help with any enquiries you may have about activities etc in the area and encourage guests to ask. Outside: The gardens are large and spacious with a large grassed area for play. They are fenced and gated for safety of younger children. The property is on a hillside surrounded by farm land and close to a working farm. The owner of the farm, Mike, is very friendly and helpful. There is a decked area with stunning views across the valley. Garden furniture is supplied as is a BBQ and tools. A garden shed is available for storage. The large driveway provides space for five or six cars. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and bedding are included and the property is cleaned thoroughly prior to every guests arrival.
