Why Jayne White chose Yorkshire Moors and Coast
Having holidayed with and without our children both in the UK and Europe, staying in self catering accommodation, we wanted to create the best of these experiences within our cottages.
We have lived in this area most of our lives and still find the the combination of the coast and the moorland countryside around a stunning place to be and would like you to visit and see for yourselves.
You also have the historic walled city of York an easy drive away with it's many attractions and shops.

We stayed at Owls Rest along with friends, and both families rated it very highly. The property was spotless and well maintained, very comfortable and with plenty of space for everybody. The kitchen was the best-equipped we've come across in a self-catering property, and the welcome pack was generous and well thought-out. The private garden gave the children somewhere safe to let off steam, they enjoyed the little play area and were made up with the pool. The booking process for the cottage was simple and the owners were helpful and prompt in their replies to our emails. As for the location, it was perfect: a nice quiet village but ideally placed for visiting all the sights. We particularly loved beautiful Flamborough Head and Robin Hood's Bay, and little Filey with its expanse of beach. Scarborough was rather touristy but we had decent fish and chips at the Lifeboat chippy. Bridlington is the east coast equivalent of Blackpool but we had a giggle anyway! Both families have said we would stay at Owls Rest again if we have the opportunity: we highly recommend it.
