Description

Redwood Sleeps 6 (3 Bedrooms)

Front entrance hall gives access to the kitchen plus the double bedroom with bedside units and fitted wardrobe and the bathroom with over bath shower. Walk into the newly refitted galley kitchen (with new single oven/grill and gas hob) dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, and CD player, then down a single step into the lounge/dining area with large settee, 1 arm chair and a tub chair. Log burning stove. Dining table with 6 chairs, dresser and occasional tables. Flatscreen TV and DVD player. The spacious twin bedroom is off the rear of the lounge with 2 full size single beds, bedside units and double wardrobe. A staircase with half landing leads up to the final twin bedroom (full sized beds) on a mezzanine above the twin room.

Our cottages are fully equipped and furnished to allow you a comfortable holiday with the family near the beach or a winter warming break with friends. All have gas central heating with thermostatic controls, full kitchens with all normal equipment, cutlery, place settings, pans, microwave, electric oven/grill, gas hobs etc and including dishwashers, showers over baths, outdoor seating area and barbecue.

We are Jayne and Graham White and we have lived in the area with our family for many years. We have tried to create friendly, comfortable and relaxing holiday homes for our guests which have been updated and improved whilst trying to retain the character

Why Jayne White chose Yorkshire Moors and Coast

Having holidayed with and without our children both in the UK and Europe, staying in self catering accommodation, we wanted to create the best of these experiences within our cottages.

We have lived in this area most of our lives and still find the the combination of the coast and the moorland countryside around a stunning place to be and would like you to visit and see for yourselves.

You also have the historic walled city of York an easy drive away with it's many attractions and shops.

What makes this cottage unique

All guests are shown personally into their cottages and we are happy to answer any questions. We have information about local places and amenities available for guests and can be for assistance if needed.

Despite the rural location the delights of traditional seaside fare is but a short drive away, plus all modern amenities are to hand.

Notes

Booking Notes:
Bookings are made direct with us and we ask for a 20% deposit with the balance paid 6 to 8 weeks before arrival. Payments can be made by Debit card, credit card, cheque, cash or bank transfer.



Changeover Day:
Are flexible on changeover outside main school holidays, however between mid July and end Aug Redwood is a Sat changeover and the others are Friday changeover. Arrival time is after 3pm and please telephone us to advise us of your actual due arrival.

Nearest Airport : Leeds/Bradford at 60 Miles Nearest Barpub : The Star pub at 750 Metres Nearest Ferry : Hull at 40 Miles Nearest Golf : South Cliff Scarborough at 2 Miles Nearest Train : Seamer at 1.5 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Filey at 2 Miles Nearest Beach : Cayton Bay at 1.5 Miles Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

A 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to nearest unspoilt beach (Cayton Bay) with it's own surf school. The blue flag award winning beaches of both Filey (2miles) and Scarborough (4miles) are within a close drive. The Yorkshire heritage coast including the Cleveland way runs past Cayton bay and an easy 20 minute drive will bring you to the RSPB bird reserve at Bempton Cliffs.

Travel:

Situated between Scarborough and Filey we are within easy driving distance of both towns, and public transport is available to both locations. Use of a car would be advantageous but not necessary.

Distances:

600 metres to local village with shops, pub and bus stops. 4 miles to Scarborough, 2 miles Filey, 25 miles to Whitby and 40 miles to York.

Further Details:

Nearest large supermarket is Morrisons 1.75 miles away. Cash machines available in village (free) and at Morrisons or in Filey with 2 banks (HSBC and Yorkshire).

Many restaurants in surrounding villages and towns.

Tesco,ASDA and Sainsbury's do online delivery in the area.

  • Notes on accommodation: All cottages have plentiful free parking on site, are inclusive of all gas, electric and heating, and WiFi is available free. Please be aware however that download speeds may not be as fast as those in large towns or city's. Please note we do not take pets in our cottages. On bookings of 5 nights or more discounts will apply to the nightly prices, ask for details. Outside: All have outdoor seating and b-b-q areas, some in shared courtyard and there is a shared outdoor children play area with swings, slide and climbing area. The shared indoor swimming pool (4.8 meters x 7.0 metres x 1.3 metre deep max) is heated and available all year round, as is the shared games room with table tennis, darts, large pool table (50p game) and some coin op arcade machines. Walking distance to village with general store/papers, fish shop, post office and pub.
