Penty-Lowarth is situated in a small hamlet near St Columb Major. Access to the whole of Cornwall is easy with the property being 10 minutes from the nearest beach, close to Newquay, Padstow, Truro, St Austell and with easy access to the A30. Places nearby include Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock, Camel Trail & more. The single storey property is a beautiful, cosy, modern, well-equipped cottage for two in a quiet, rural location and comprises open plan living, dining, kitchen area, separate bedroom with king size bed and a shower room. There is parking and a private garden. The property is equipped with 2 sofas, TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, dining table & chairs, fridge, combination-microwave and hob. Duvets, bed linen & towels are provided (not beach towels). Cornish Cream Tea served on arrival with our compliments. Home-made bread is available to buy, with beauty treatments available at Yvette’s Beauty Room in the owners’ home.

About Yvette Britton

My name is Yvette, and our family moved to Cornwall from Worcestershire 9 years ago following my husband being made redundant. It’s been the best move we’ve ever made! We had been holidaying in Cornwall for some 30 years and when the opportunity came to live here, we seized it with both hands. We refurbished an old Cornish cob cottage and brought it back to life and this is now our own home. We have especially enjoyed creating our garden from scratch, and part of this design included building Penty-Lowarth which is Cornish for ‘Cottage in the Garden’. My husband Jeremy, works in IT for a local company, and as well as looking after Penty-Lowarth and our guests, I also work from home as a Beauty Therapist in my spare time! We also lead a small church family called Open Heaven.

It is in a peaceful, rural location, ideally suited for those who are looking for a retreat, but beaches, shops, pubs and restaurants are not far away. We aim to make our guests feel special and at home, and a home-made Cornish Cream Tea is served with our compliments on your arrival.

1. Beautiful, quiet retreat. Appreciated the welcome of flowers and cream tea. Bed was a welcome surprise as no bad backs (a first for us)! This has been the BEST accommodation we have ever stayed in. Thank you for all the attention to detail.

2. As soon as we arrived we knew we had chosen a good property. It was clean, modern and the cream tea and fresh flowers left by the friendly owners were a lovely touch. It was well situated in a lovely quiet location and we managed to tour around the whole coast of Cornwall from there.

3. A gem of a cottage, very friendly and helpful owners - the cream tea awaiting our arrival was an unexpected and lovely touch. Everything was of the highest standard, and the situation of the cottage was such that most of Cornwall was accessible within a shortish car journey. We would certainly recommend this property very highly, it far exceeded our expectations!

Cottage in the garden

Our stay here was perfect - the cottage is in excellent condition and well equipped and maintained. Yvette was a perfect host - welcoming, friendly (lovely cream tea on arrival) and helpful without being intrusive.

The location is ideal for visiting almost anywhere else in the area, and both north and south coasts are only a short drive away. We had a wonderful time walking on the coastal paths and admiring the stunning coastline and beaches. The Eden Project is within easy reach for an interesting day out; the quirky little museums at Mevagissey and Jamaica Inn are really worth a visit, and Padstow has the most spectacular beach we have ever seen. There are some local pubs offering good quality food, but the cottage is well equipped to cook your own meals if you prefer. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Changeover Day:
Changeover Day is Friday although there is some flexibility for shorter breaks or in low season. Arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am.

Notes on prices:
Prices shown are for 7 nights. 3 night breaks 75%, 4 nights 80%, 5 nights 85%, 6 nights 90% of the price shown. Short breaks available all year round. PLEASE NOTE THE PRICES SHOWN ON THE ABOVE TABLE FOR 3 NIGHTS ARE INCORRECT! Owners Direct have set them up automatically and they are wrong!!

Outside: A small private area of garden has been set aside for the use of our guests. Table, chairs and barbecue are provided. There is parking for one car on the drive, adjacent to the cottage. Utility Room: There is a broom cupboard with broom, brush and dustpan, mop and bucket, clothes airer and pegs, iron and ironing board and a torch. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Clean towels (not beach towels) and bed linen are provided. The cottage is cleaned thoroughly prior to your arrival. Other: Entrance lobby with coat hooks.
