Situated on the coast between Porthmadog and Criccieth. Ideally situated for exploring Snowdonia national park and the Lynn peninsula. Fully renovated to a modern high standard in 2013.

Great property in a perfect location

We have just returned from a wonderful week in sunny Wales! Your property was perfect for us with a 5 year old and a dog the spacious rooms and comfortable accommodation was great. The rooms provided more space than we expected as well as being clean and practical. The fabulous beach area was just a short walk away (or you could take the car on for a small charge), with a convenience store nearby and a lot of local attractions to keep us entertained our only criticism is that a week wasn't long enough! Thank you to Alan as well for being so prompt at replying to any initial queries, very helpful, I am sure we will be coming back again

Stunning

The property is spacious, clean and well presented. It's close to the park, shop, fish and chip shop and the beach!

A great place to stay to explore North Wales

We would definitely stay here again and Alan is unbelievably helpful! Every little detail taken care of and are we very grateful to Alan for all of his help

Absolutely fabulous! The beautifully converted Chapel had everything you could need for your stay.

All rooms were clean, modern and very generous in size, the photos do not do the Chapel justice. From a practical point of view the accommodation was excellent. With wooden flooring downstairs, no worries about bringing the beach home on your clothes, shoes & doggie paws! Full size fridge/ freezer, washing machine & drying room makes it easier when on holiday with teenage boys! The boys went quad biking at "Madog Bikes" in Portmadog which was the highlight of their week. It looked so much fun my Sister & I are going to give it a go next time. We also went to the pub down the road. The staff were really friendly & helpful. The food was good value, tasty with huge portions. Added bonus they have pool tables & dart boards, again great for teenagers.

The Chapel & the area is a great place to unwind & recharge your batteries. I will be highly recommending to my friends. Plus with out a doubt we will be back next year, my son really didn't want to leave. Thank you Alan for having an amazing Chapel which you let out at affordable prices. Our first family holiday in years was made very special with lasting memories x

clean, roomy and good facilities

We have just come back from a holiday at Gest Melyn. Everything was clean and as explained on arrival. All the facilities worked well. We had an issue with the shower and within a couple of hours somebody was down to fit a new one for us. The location is perfect with easy distance from the beach without being near the hussle and bussle of the beach. A great amount of space and beds available to sleep in and a good range of kitchen facilities and utensils. Would definitely go back again. Thanks for a great holiday. X

Wonderful stay!!

My friend and I stayed at the cottage for 3 nights over the Easter weekend with our 3 boys aged 7-9. Prior to our arrival Alan was extremely helpful and was happy to answer any questions I had.

Firstly, the cottage is well renovated and spacious. The downstairs is open plan with 2 sofas, a tv, a dining table and a well equipped kitchen. Upstairs was a large double bedroom, a second bedroom with 3 single beds and a bathroom. There were games and books, and even things like tea towels were supplied- the little things make a difference! The electricity meter uses £1 & £2 coins, and given we had a cold weekend I was worried we'd spend a fortune keeping the cottage heated but actually the heaters were really effective so had nothing to worry about - I think we'd spent £23 over the weekend which we both thought was reasonable.

Secondly it is in a fantastic location, just minutes from the centre of Porthmadog where there are lots of shops including supermarkets, there is a spar to the right, and a small park to the left both within a minutes walk. Directly by the cottage is beach road that leads to the beach which was lovely and clean - within 10 mins walk I would say but you can drive onto it. Halfway down the road is a pub, which wasn't much to look at and was a bit dated but the food was good - huge portions and reasonably priced. There is a haven site nearby which you can buy a day pass for but was full for the weekend so you'd probably need to book in advance.

There are lots of activities in the area - we used the local leisure centre which was 10 mins from the cottage. Then we went quad biking (15 mins from cottage) which was so much fun! Also took a drive to Canaerfon castle, and into the Menai straits where we had a rib ride - another fantastic experience I highly recommend!

Overall we had a brilliant weekend, couldn't fault the accommodation especially for the price we paid, and will definitely recommend to friends!

The property although built in the 1850`s has been brought up to modern standards so whilst retaining some of its original features also benefits from being renovated with modern materials so is very well insulated which makes the heating efficient. I am pleased that you found the property spacious and the open plan layout worked well for you. Excellent in every way

We can't recommend this holiday let enough.

It is a lovely property in a fantastic location, less than ten minutes walk to black rock sands and a ten minute drive to Porthmadog.

There is also a pub, a Spar shop and a Chipshop just a few minutes stroll away.

The property was lovely and clean and well maintained with plenty of glasses, crockery and cooking utensils.

When you consider the holiday cost the same as an equivalent stay in a caravan it was marvellous to have a proper kitchen, bathroom and huge lounge area complete with a good sized TV and brilliant wifi.

The bedrooms were well finished, spacious and comfortable, all in all there was nothing we found to critisise during our stay.

I have no doubt we will stay here again in the future and it really is a nice change to find such a great holiday let that also welcomes dogs.

Book it you won't be disappointed!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Black Rocks Sands beach is a 5-10 minute walk down "beach road". Or you drive on the main road to the beach where you can also park your car free of charge.

Travel:

The town of Portmadog is a 5 minute drive away.

Distances:

A very good local shop ( Spar ) is 300 meters up the road. The post office is located in side. A chip shop is next to the Spar along with a shop selling bit and bobs for a day on the beach.
