Perfect location with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

My partner & I stayed in the Carthouse for a week in May 2017 with our German Shepherd. The Carthouse has been renovated to a high standard & has everything you could possibly need. The views from the kitchen are stunning. Martha, Mark & the boys were very welcoming & there was an enormous freshly baked loaf of bread waiting for us on the kitchen table. I must not forget to mention Billy the dog who visited us daily to catch up with our dog. There are several walks directly from the cottage that join up with the Pembrokeshire coastal path. While there are several small sandy beaches within walking distance, our favourite is Newport Sands, which is a short drive away. It is the biggest sandy beach I've seen in the UK, is dog friendly & you can even park your car on the beach. The Carthouse is the perfect location from which to explore Pembrokshire & we hope to be back again soon.

A really special little cottage, so quiet yet close to so much magical countryside and small towns.

  • 5 of 5

From the cheerful welcome and warm loaf on the table right through to the end of our week we had a smashing time. Billy provided calm canine company to our bbqs and welcomed us each morning after we'd had a great nights sleep.

There really wasn't anything we needed that wasn't provided.

The dark skies were brilliant for the meteors too!

Owner's Response: Hi Jon, Thank you for the lovely review. The dark skies really are great and nothing to do with me. Sorry that the weather dipped off at the end of your stay. You made the most of the sunshine that we did have. Delighted that Billy kept you company for your BBQ's I think he is missing you now. Kind Regards Martha

Cosy, comfortable, well equipped, great hosts and lovely location

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to the carthouse and it didn't disappoint. The accommodation is cosy and comfortable, and doggy friendly. We had a great time walking the coast path and the beaches (Newport and Poppit sands are recommended), and generally relaxing. Thankyou Martha, Mark, Theo and Jerry, and of course Billy. We hope to be back next year!

Characterful cottage in wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

The Carthouse has been beautifully renovated and is equipped to a high standard. It felt light and spacious as well as being cosy and characterful. The coast and mountain views were stunning and it was great being able to walk to both from the cottage. It was a wonderful base from which to explore the area and Martha and family made it the perfect break for us.
