FANTASTIC

  • 5 of 5

What can we say that we haven't already done before. We just love it here and that is why we keep going back. We did have a couple of days rain, but the views are still amazing. We did our usual reading and chilling out. You know we will be back but I don't think we can fit another visit in this year so will have to wait until 2017 - see you all then M & M :o)

Great property, fantastic location, really helpful hosts

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week. The property is comfortable, cosy, well equipped and in a great location for a quiet relaxing holiday. We particularly enjoyed coastal walks and Newport Sands beach. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. We'd certainly come back.

One of the nicest places we've stayed in

  • 5 of 5

This is a great little cottage tucked away up a farm track between Newport and Dinas Cross. The cottage is finished to a very high standard with a modern kitchen and bathroom, and furnished delightfully by the owner. It had one of the best equipped kitchens we have ever used, and a fantastic spa bath which was very welcome after a day's walking on the coastal path. There was plenty of hot water for both of us to have baths at the end of the day. The lounge is very cosy in the evening, and we both slept brilliantly in the large bed. The views from the garden are stunning, and we too enjoyed our regular visits from Billy. We stayed with our dog; initially we were nervous because the property isn't fully enclosed by a gate or fence and is open at one side to the rest of the farm, but she was absolutely fine as long as we kept an eye on her. There is a stable right next door - our dog is a city girl so hadn't seen horses before - apologise for her barking!

The cottage is well located for exploring Pembrokeshire. We had day trips in the car to St David's (about an hour away) and Tenby (about an hour and 20 mins), but you don't need to venture far to have a great day out. We also had day walks starting from the car park in Cwm-yr-Eglwys round Dinas Head (walk 1) and then along the coastal path (towards Newport, walk 2) to the next bay with a gorgeous sheltered beach and nearby waterfall (well worth the short diversion). Make sure you check out Newport Sands which is a fabulous dog-friendly white sand beach, and have a trip up into the hills to visit the neolithic monument at Pentre Ifan. Fishguard is only about 10 mins away by car. We had delicious fish and chips from Hooked on the high street. All in all a fantastic cottage in a fantastic location, we hope to return soon.

A really lovely cottage in a simply stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful week in the Cartlodge. It is so well equipt and comfortable in a really beautiful and peaceful location on a farm at the end of a private lane. We ate all our meals outside on the picnic table with views of rolling fields and the sea in the distance. We spent every day walking the stunning Pembrokeshire coast and the two beaches in walking distance from the cottage were simply beautiful. It was so safe for our dog Pickle as we simply left the French doors open all the time. Martha was a fabulous host and we loved the regularly visits from her gorgeous dog Billy. We were so sad to leave and will definitely be back. We are real travellers and as teachers with long holiday have travelled extensively in the Uk and around the world. The Cartlodge is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed.

Fantastic hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful New Years break Monday- Friday. The carthouse was even better than the photos on the site(if that's possible). The view was fabulous even down to seeing the horses in the stables from the kitchen & bathroom window! We had a mix of weather to be expected this time of year, but this didn't stop us having some fantastic walks in the woods to the waterfall and on the beach. Thank you for a lovely romantic break.
