Beautifully converted cart house within the National Parks recently renovated to a high standard. Stunning sea and mountain views The Cart house is a walkers dream. Well behaved dogs are welcome. A charge of £10 per dog per week.

Notes:
Outside: The main garden is large and secluded with a dinning area it has lovely mountain and sea views. there is a separate patio area outside the front door again with garden furniture and a barbecue. To the left of the house is a raised garden with a bench which is an ideal spot for a Gin and Tonic and watching the sunset. Parking for 2 cars there is also ample room for bike and boat storage. Utility Room: A utility cupboard outside the bathroom houses the washer dryer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. The property is cleaned and a change of linen is provided mid week. Beach towels are available. Dog towels are also available on request

Rural idyll

The Cart House is perfect for a couple wanting perfect solitude in an area of Pembrokeshire which provides an excellent springboard to discover the captivating, wind-swept coastline to the south with its myriad of lonely bays and the dramatic vista of St David's cathedral from the tiny city itself, and further north the more traditional villages and towns of Wales. The owner has kitted the cottage out with everything you might possibly need and a really lovely touch was the provision of quite the most enormous home-baked loaf of bread we have ever taken a knife too - it yielded toast for breakfast for the full five days of our stay. We had the sense that the owner, who lives in the nearby farm house, would be on call for any pressing need, whilst she fully respected our privacy, indeed I took it upon myself to say hi one day and briefly introduce myself. There is a loveable but very cheeky little dog that roams the grounds that we befriended and rather spoilt. The best thing of all is the view from the patio and rear garden. The sea itself is temptingly almost at arms' reach as it shimmers like a sapphire to the north and even when it rains (which it did quite a lot) the precipitation almost at times seemed horizontal as wild, steamy mists raced across the fields. Most mornings we witnessed the splendid sight of horses galloping on some sort of track in the distance. Finally a top tip to those of you who, like us, prefer a late start to the day and inevitably find that lunchtime hunger is a fraction too late for the inevitable closing of pub menus at 2.30pm; in nearby Newport (note: not the large town on the south coast: this is a charming little town near Dinas Cross) the Royal Oak serves food all day. It is down-to-earth but welcoming with the locals switching from Welsh to English at the drop of a hat to take your order.

Another fantastic stay at the Carthouse.

As always the Carthouse was immaculate, well equipped, comfortable, and the owners are superb. The views from the cottage are breath taking. Fantastic walks within reaching distance, to beaches or the Preseli Hills behind the Carthouse.....Leave the car parked up and walk!!....Take in the fantastic Pembrokeshire​ air! A wonderful stay, with Lovely hosts. Just perfect.

peaceful and relaxing

We had a lovely break, decor and facilities where excellent ( particularly liked spa bath after a long walk). Location was great, peaceful with lovely walks from the door but also very close to Newport and other areas. Hosts where friendly and helpful. A great place to de-stress and feel human again. We are planning a return visit.

Fantastic getaway

Stayed for a long weekend, perfect place to recharge the batteries. Cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. Had everthing we needed and the sunrise in the morning was amazing. Ideal for exploring places by car or walking the coast path.

Enjoyed our visits from Billy the dog. We look forward to returning in the future.
