A restored cottage situated in the centre of the ancient town of Tavira.(The city of churches). Minutes walk to fantastic cafes and restaurants. Benefits from having a large roof terrace with outstanding views. Easily reached with a twenty minute drive from faro airport. Regular buses and trains with stations only minutes walking distance. Beaches 15 minutes by ferry or water taxi. Hills and walking trails 15 minutes drive the other way.

Clean, comfortable and very convenient. Great decor and roof terrace.

Really gorgeous house and so good to be able to just potter around the town, go to the market and get fresh fish, meat and vegetables. We were there for the Good Friday celebrations with candle lit processions and lavender strewn in the streets. The view from the terrace is really lovely and peaceful.

Fantastic accomodation

This property is fantastic, we stayed for 2 weeks. The cottage is very well set out and a lot if thought has gone in the decoration. The icing on the cake is the roof top terrace it is brilliant with magnificent views over Tavira. The customer service was very good, it was clean and well maintained. I would recommend it to anyone. Tavira is beautiful with many really good restaurants and bars. Our favourites were Tavira Lounge and Youngs! We will return as we had such a fabulous time! Thank you.

Stay in Tavira

The house is situated down a cobbled street approx 200 Mtrs away from the Pousada in one direction, 200 Mtrs away from the bus station in another and 200 Mtrs away from the river, bars and restaurants in another so ideally placed for visitors. The house itself is in good condition with the rebuild programme having been very well thought through....simple things taken into consideration like electric sockets near mirrors etc. Whilst the property is one bedroomed the internal layout makes it feel bigger than it really is. All the accommodation is on the ground floor with the upstairs being an open top balcony complete with sun beds, table and chairs along with a BBQ. As a lovers of sunshine we spent many hours up here through being able to sit in the sun from sunrise to sunset......probably the best balcony in Tavira.

Lovely cottage...Lovely town

Hardly a dull moment in three weeks of blue skies.The roof terrace was a delight and the cottage had everything required for holiday living..We particularly enjoyed the virtually deserted riverside beach on Tavira Island and made good use of the beach umbrella provided by the house.We recommend the small ferry from Quatro Aguas as the town ferry is generally overcrowded.Home cooking and restaurant food and wine is marvellous and inexpensive compared with the U.K. Tavira seems to be on the 'up and up' and it was great to see so many old buildings being improved.

We are sold on this part of the Algarve and look forward to returning next year.

Very good standard, excellent outdoor space

Lovely cottage right at the top of the village, beautiful views across Tavira. Everything that you could need is provide in this compact cottage. The only downside for us was the bells ringing every hour, you either need ear plugs or get used to it. Truly one of the best towns in Algarve for me so reasonable, friendly and interesting. We find something new every time we visit. Walk down to the bar opposite Tavira Lounge for a pint if good larger and a glass of white wine 3 euros! The food is delicious and although the owner doesn't speak any English, and we don't speak Portuguese, we managed to order palma ham, cheese and olives. The chicken and fish dishes are excellent value for money and all home cooked. Highly recommended.

Lovely house, perfect location

This house is great. Very clean, modern and has everything you need for a comfortable holiday (including Netflix!). It is not huge but just the right size for a couple. It is less than 5 minutes walk from the main square / restaurants and bars. If this is still available we will definitely be returning. No bother for us at all but probably not very suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the hill is pretty steep upto the house. The lady that runs the house, Emma, was prompt meeting us and very helpful. Colin, the homeowner, was prompt and communication was good. We have been 4 times to Tavira and we love it. The town is just so pretty and unspoiled. Beautiful buildings and the people are very helpful and friendly. The beach is gorgeous, nearly white sand and so clean.

No bad points at all :-)

this is a lovely destination and would especially suite people with interests in history and culture.

Coast/Beach:

10 minute drive to beach. alternatively a 10 minute walk to catch water taxi or ferry this takes 15 minutes to land you on the beach

Travel:

Faro airport is 25 minutes drive at about 40 km. The bus will take longer allow between 1-2 hours

Distances:

Twenty minutes to the Spanish border Seville approx 3 hrs. drive.

Cabanas 15 min.drive, Santa Luzia 15 min. also

Further Details:
