About Christele

John and Christele moved from Yorkshire to Lincolnshire twelve years ago. They fell in love with The Forge and completely restored the property in the quiet residential village of Hemswell. One of the very few villages with a maypole. Christele is a full time ceramic artist, and John is an engineer who enjoys doing aerobatics.

Christele purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Christele chose West Lindsey

We chose The Forge in Hemswell because it offers the best of two worlds. On the one hand it is rural, tranquil and secluded yet within easy reach from major motorways and airports. ( M180/M18/A46/A1) (East Midlands/Doncaster-Sheffield/Humberside)

On one side going East we can readily access the coast and the Lincolnshire Wolds on the other side going West, we can readily access the rest of the country.

Kirton Lindsay only a few miles away offers nice village shops and amenities (butcher, baker, newsagent, small Coop, beautician, Indian restaurant...) with its own working windmill. Hemswell Antique Centre less than a mile away is a definite attraction.

We have a dog and enjoy walks, the area has plenty of footpaths and bridleways. I used to cycle and the rural back roads are a delight.

We love Lincoln, a quaint interesting pleasant town with a good range of entertainment from cultural to casual and good restaurants.

Cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned home from our stay in John and Christele's lovely holiday cottage having had an excellent break. The cottage is very conveniently situated for Lincoln (about 20 Minutes away) and is set in a peaceful rural village made for relaxing. The cottage contained everything we needed for our short stay and, with its wood burner fire and exposed brick walls, it was extremely charming. The beds were very comfortable and it was great to have plenty of room for all four family members to spread themselves around the house.

My husband and son particularly enjoyed using the pizza oven on the patio area while we were there, something you don't see every day! Thank you to the owners for their wonderful hospitality.

SO WELL LOOKED AFTER

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very diligent, making our stay even better!

You will not be disappointed with this cottage.

Very clean and well maintained; it is comfortable and stylish.

Great cooker and water heater, allowing for even the most demanding family.

(Careful of the shower though, it'll knock your socks off!) Hee hee 😄

Lovely Cottage in a Quiet Village

  • 5 of 5

The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break. It sits directly opposite the owners house but we were given plenty of space after a warm welcome. The cottage is nicely furnished and the beds were really comfortable. The heating was excellent which was necessary for a Feb break! Overall a very comfortable place to stay.
