Beautiful apartment in central location

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is located in an historic building very close to the Monkgate in the city walls, so just 5 minutes walk to the centre of York. It is a spacious apartment set over two floors, with one bedroom on the 1st floor and two bedrooms on the 2nd floor, so it was ideal for our 3 generation family. The owner met us at the property and provided helpful information. It was well-equipped, warm and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night break.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for this lovely review - we are so pleased you enjoyed "family-time" in this super apartment and it was lovely to meet you all. The location really is ideal - such an easy walk to York's attractions, a convenient supermarket even closer for topping up supplies and yet, being set back from the road, it provides the perfect accommodation with plenty of space for quiet rest and relaxation to "re-charge the batteries" for the next outing. There is plenty to do and see here at any time of the year and the secure car-parking offers another great bonus.

Wonderful apartment for our stay in York

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this apartment for a family get-together in York. Three generations including my 83 year old mother and two teenage children.

Pauline the owner, greeted us to show us the apartment and gave us tips on local restaurants etc. The secure parking provided was a bonus as it is difficult to find parking, although actually we could walk to the attractions of York within minutes.

The apartment was beautifully maintained with everything we needed.

We all had a fabulous time in an unbeatable location and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

immaculate apartment, brilliant position!

  • 5 of 5

We (a family group of 6 adults/older teens) stayed in York for a long weekend, and found the apartment to be impeccably clean, fresh and comfortable. The situation is really a 5 minute stroll to the start of the city wall walk, and in 10 minutes you are in the heart of the city with a plethora of fine dining and drinking establishments to cater to every taste. Pauline made our arrival really effortless, and could not have been more hospitable. We will definitely stay here again if we have occasion to visit York again!

Perfect base for a group stay in central York

  • 5 of 5

Pauline, the owner, went out of her way to allow us to check-in early as we were arriving by train with 2 young children and elderly grandparents. No 28 is lovely. The furnishings are of a very high standard and the apartment overall is immaculate. The location is spot on being only 5 mins walk to the Minster with lots of bars and restaurants enroute. Should we return to York again with the family we will definitely return.

Perfect apartment for mini break to York

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend in York. The apartment was perfect for us in every way, we went to York for a weekend with our two young children and one set of grandparents. The layout was perfect, with the grandparents downstairs and using the main bathroom, and us and children up stairs with the en suite. It was like us having our own suite. The apartment was spotless, and done to a very high spec, like a boutique hotel. Certainly one of the best we have stayed in.

The apartment was very well equipped, and allowed us to self cater easily, which is great with young children. Having a large Sainsburys within a few minutes walk was extremely handy, allowing us to just nip out to get what we needed when we needed it.

The location of the apartment is perfect, secure parking where you can leave your car for the duration of your stay and then walk into the centre. It is about 5 mins to the Minster, and about 15 mins walk through the town to the Railway Museum, with lots of places to stop for a coffee, or browse the shops.

I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment, and we will definitely return. Pauline was lovely, and the welcome pack was a real surprise treat! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your comments - we are delighted that your visit was such a success and that our lovely apartment played such a significant part in your enjoyment. The location is perfect, the secure parking a big bonus and the building is magnificent. We designed refurbishment works in the apartment to maximise on bedroom/bathroom spaciousness for our guests' complete comfort and relaxation - whilst retaining an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area for socialising and sharing. This sounds like it worked very well for you and your family and "ticked" the right boxes. You will be most welcome any time you are able to visit York again. Very best wishes to you all, Pauline

A perfect apartment in York

  • 5 of 5

We found this apartment to be an ideal base for our stay in York. It was convenient for the centre with several eating places, such as Little Italy and a Tapas bar, within easy walking distance. The secure parking was an added bonus.

The accommodation was pleasantly quiet for a city apartment. It was well furnished throughout with a full range of equipment. Everywhere was very clean, the beds were really comfortable with good quality linen and towels being provided.

On arrival, Pauline made us very welcome and later went to great lengths to return a toilet bag which one of our party had inadvertently left behind!

Thank you, Pauline, we hope to return in the future.
