Casa Verde is a bright, stylish 1 bedroom apartments in the old town of Albufeira. It is situated just a few minutes away from the beach, restaurants, bars, shops and local attractions. It is on the first floor with lifts for easy access. Outside the communal swimming pool, children's splash pool and garden area have recently been refurbished with new decking and seating. This is an ideal place to stay in a perfect location. Albufeira beach is three to four minutes walk away and the old town square is about five minutes. Past the museum and shops at the end of the road turn right and walk on paths on the top of the cliffs above the beach to Albufeira Marina. There are taxis and a bus stop at the end of the street and there is an underground parking space belonging to the apartment.

About the Owner

My sister and I love the Algarve. Our Mum has lived here for nearly 30 years and we have visited many, many times. My Mum has a number of stray animals (9 dogs and 9 cats) so we decided it would be easier to buy apartments of our own nearby. We like our holidays near a beach, interesting things to see, lovely walks to see the local landscape, good markets and local shopping. We like to have places where we can eat local food and drink within a few minutes walking distance so that there is no need to drive - then there is no need to draw the short straw and miss out on the local wines.

Perfect Apartment & Perfect Location

We have never been to Portugal before and must say we had a fantastic holiday from start to finish. Julie and her sister Lynn are very helpful and answer any questions you have very quickly and even arranged our transfer.

The apartment is beautiful, clean and fresh with everything you could ask for and when you arrive the you have a friendly greeting (the lady who met us was Sarah).

The apartment is perfectly located it's only a 5 minute walk to the old town and beach. There are lots of lovely restaurants to choose from.

There is absolutely nothing negative to say and I would highly recommend stopping here ☺☺

thoroughly enjoyable

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Portugal. The apartment is lovely and has everything you could possibly want in there. The location is brilliant. Walking distant to all shops, bars and the beach. The outdoor area has a lovely pool and every one is very warm and friendly. We have already booked for next year. Would readily recommend to family and friends.

Fantastic apartment in excellent location

I had a fantastic stay at this apartment. Everything from start to finish of the holiday was well organised. I was met on time on arrival and checkout was just as smooth. The apartment is modern and well equipped. Ideally located for old town and very quiet. Close to beaches and the pool was never busy. I would recommend these apartments for those who want a holiday with no car hire or need of taxis. I will definitely be going back.

Amazing holiday!

My boyfriend and I had the most wonderful stay, our first holiday together by ourselves and it couldn't of been made easier. This apartment was everything we needed in the perfect location, with so many places to eat we ate out every night at a different place. Everything was right on our doorstep and being a young couple this was perfect, being unable to drive abroad we were worried about not being able to get around but there was know need to worry as everything we needed was in walking distance. The beach, restaurants, bars and clubs only a couple minutes away and the marina was a lot closer than we thought; around a 15 minute walk where we got to indulge is the huge range of activities available, including a speed boat ride/tour round all the amazing caves and famous beaches SO BEAUTIFUL!! And then a ride out to sea to search for dolphins! Then the next day parasailing. These were so easy to book you simply go down to the many many ticket Shops, pick your activity and then they book it all for you. Another thing that took our surprise was how reasonably priced the food was, it really took us by surprise. We would definitely Come back again and it was perfect for us the apartment so clean and modern, the kitchen equipped with everything anyone would need, the bed super comfortable, loads of games, books and DVDs to use. Thank you so much Julie we really had an amazing time and were so sad to leave we really did not want to come home.

Casa verdi - Albuferia

This apartment is lovely, perfect location being 2 minutes from the beach, and 5 minutes from the square which is full or restaurants and entertainment on an evening. The apartment has everything you need for your stay and is spotlessly clean. Our party was 2 adults and an 8 years child and is was just the ticket, having a pull out sofa bed and a single ready bed to chose from for our son. The pool was lovely, and we always managed to find a sunbed. Julie in England, and Terry in Albuferria were both really helpful and gave us everything we needed. I would also recommend Zoomarine where we swam with the dolphins - it was a fantastic experience, if you get the chance - do it!! We liked eating out at Buddys on the square, and Downtown. but there were loads of restaurants to chose from. Also I was ill while we were away, and the local health centre were brilliant much faster service than our walk in centres here, and the staff on reception were also very helpful. All in all a great holiday, will definately recommend this apartment and resort.

Great base for old albufeira town

We were met by the father of the owner who was very helpful. He showed us were everything was and explained everything we needed to know re the rental etc. Everything is colour co-ordinated in white, black and lime green. The apartment was very nice and very clean, the only downside was there was no balcony (this was my own fault as I never thought to ask ,I just presumed) There was absolutely nothing that we needed that wasn't there, from beach towels to every item of cutlery. The apartment is in an excellent location , only a few minutes from the square in the old town. There is a moderately steep walk up a hill to the apartments from the town. If you walk down the hill behind the apartments, turning right at the bottom and a few yards along is a restaurant called Tasca D'Alkhaz. I can thoroughly recommend this, as well as a good a la carte there is also a 3 course special for about 11euros. Excellent food and value for money. Would I go back to this apartment, definitely. Would I recommend it to friends and family, certainly. The owners also have others in this building if Casa Verde is not available so all being well we might be going back next year.

Stunning location in the old town of Albufeira

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There are 250km of beaches on the Algarve so you can choose a different beach each day! The beach is three minutes walk away and the old town square is about five minutes. If you head to the little museum and shops at the end of the road and turn right you can walk on paths on the top of the cliffs above the beach to Albufeira Marina in 15 minutes.

Travel:

Faro is the international airport for visitors to the Algarve. Travelling by road should take 40 to 50 minutes depending on traffic and the route you take. It is about 48km from the airport to the apartment. A car is not necessary but if you decide to hire a car, ll the international car hire companies are at the airport. It will take time but buses and trains go to Albufeira from near Faro marina.

Distances:

You are in the old town of Albufeira with churches, museums and markets. Furthest east is Vila Real (last town before Spain) it is about an hour (95km), to Sagres the furthest town west is about 1 hour 10 min. (83km) and into the Serra de Monchique about 45 min. (55km). Visit Zoo marine (8km from apartment), Aqualand, a splash and ride water park (11km), Parque Aventura, moving along trees in a series of games (4km) and the international sand sculptures exhibition at Pera (10km).

Further Details:

There is a taxi rank and bus stop one street away, where local buses, open top tour buses and coaches for tours stop. There are fairs and festivals throughout the year. Highlights are the jazz festival held in the summer in towns across the Algarve, food festivals such as the chicken festival at Guia and the Sardine festival at Olhos d'Agua. There are many 'Festa's' with processions honouring patron saints followed by entertainment and fireworks in the evenings and of course the annual carnivals in February or March depending on the timing of Easter. Water sports are available for those that are feeling active. In July and August, many sports events are held on the beaches. You can hire bikes, go horse riding, scuba diving and play tennis. But for those that want to relax, stroll to Fishermans beach to spend a lazy day enjoying the sun. And if you love walking, there are miles of walks along the cliffs and beaches. You can walk from the old town to Sao Joao via the beach and a cliff top walk with some stunning views of both Albufeira and further down the coast towards Vilamoura and Faro. There are many old churches and museums to visit – try Misericodia chapel, Igreja Matriz and don't forget to have a look around Sant' Ana church – right on your doorstep. A Gipsy / Flea Market is on 'Rua da Escolas' (near the municipal canteen) on the third Saturday of every month and a Market twice a month in Caliços on the first and third Tuesday of every month. There are masses of restaurants in Albufeira including traditional Portuguese food such cataplana and locally caught fish, Italian, Chinese, Indian and fast food outlets like McDonalds – practically anything you want. There are plenty of local bars and cafes. If you want to eat in, there are small local shops close by and a Lidls is a short walk away. If you have a car, there are many shops at the 'Algarve shopping' complex (15 minutes drive) and numerous larger shops such as Intermarche and Continente in Albufeira.

A minimum rental of 7 nights.
Changeover Day:
Preferred changeover day is a Saturday though out of the summer season and for stays less than a week this can be flexible. Departure is by 10.00 am and arrivals after 4 pm. Arrivals after 7pm will need our recommended company for transfers so that guests can gain out of hours access to the apartment.

Notes on prices:
Prices quoted are for a maximum of 4 people.

Once a booking is requested a contract will be sent with details. A non-refundable deposit of 25% will secure the booking. Once the completed contract and payment is received a confirmation email will be sent to you. Final payment is 8 weeks prior to the holiday start date. A breakage deposit of £200 is payable and after a positive inspection will be refunded within 14 days

  • Notes on accommodation: The floors are tiled throughout and there are blackout curtains at all the windows. There is wireless access available in the reception and pool areas. Satellite TV is available with around 22 channels. Outside: The communal swimming pool, children's splash pool and garden area have recently been refurbished with new decking and seating. There is a communal terrace on the top floor with stunning views of Albufeira and the sea. Entry to the property is via a fully tiled and fitted reception area with seating, lifts, toilets and access to the pool and decking area. To the front are small gardens and steps up to Sant' Ana old church and the cafes and restaurants. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Mattress covers, bed linen, duvets, towels and flannels are provided. Beach towels provided. Linen and bath towels are changed at the end of each week if guests are staying for a further week.
