Churchside guest apartment is a private and self contained one bedroom annexe to Churchside house in the village of Littlebury Green, 3 miles from the attractive market town of Saffron Walden. Churchside offers the perfect place for a relaxing holiday and a great location from which to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and local sights with easy access to London and Cambridge for day visits. There are numerous good walks straight from the front door, which can take in local pubs (for instance in Chrishall and Wendens Ambo). We hope that we have provided everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Churchside Guest Apartment is the self contained annex to Churchside House. My family and I have lived at Churchside for the last four years but it has only been in the spring of this year when we decided to rent out the apartment for holidays. We hope that it will provide a good base for happy holidays in the area, it certainly is a fabulous area to live in and we think it is would also be a great area to holiday in.

John and Julie June 2013 (2 nights): We enjoyed our stay here, has everything you need. Clean and modern. The garden area was really sweet and pretty. Very confortable stay and would recommend to friends and family. Bridget was lovely and welcoming.
Jan and Paul July 2013 (7 nights): We needed somewhere quiet and this was ideal. I did some lovely walks with the dog as advised by Jeremy, We will certainly be back as we were made to feel very welcome. Thank you both.
We had a lovely few days away. Apartment has all you need. The surrounding countryside is lovely.. the owners have a number of walks mapped out.. as well as all information on the surrounding area.. we loved our stay. And would stay again.. maybe longer next time..

Everything you need is available
Bridget was a very welcoming and accommodating owner. There were beautiful and personal touches, Bridget generously provided biscuits, lovely fresh fruit, milk and even treats for our dog. This was gratefully appreciated. The annexe is perfect, spotlessly clean, light, private, quiet and spacious. My husband and I have stayed in various different cottages and we can say quite earnestly that it was a joy and pleasure to stay here. The annexe has every mod con you could need and think of. Bridget has put a lot of thought into this annexe to ensure the comfort of her guests. We personally thanked Bridget for all her efforts, they are deeply appreciated. The courtyard garden was great, we enjoyed hearing the birds and resident woodpecker.
We will be booking again for a longer stay. It is central to most places and has a lot of fabulous nature walks.

We had thought the property was more spacious when we booked . The only easily available area to eat was in the kitchen seated at a breakfast bar on rickety stools - not a good choice for pensioners ! The weather turned cold , the heater in the living room blew out unpleasant dust and smell when turned on , this appeared to be the only heating we could obtain . There was a washing machine but absolutely no means of drying anything , even our sopping wet outdoor gear after a day of walking in heavy rain . The bag for food waste under the sink was full by Monday (we eat a lot of fruit /veg ) - fortunately we were able to put this out for collection ourselves on Wednesday as the other bins were outside the gate . There were only two sauce pans for the hob top , as I am vegetarian and my husband is not , we cook separate food , two pans are not adequate. Altogether I feel it was an expensive property that did not live up to its billing .... Sorry !

Churchside guest apartment is 3 miles from the beautiful and historic market town of Saffron Walden, with it's varied architecture and wide range of restaurants, shops, museum, mazes, The Fry art gallery, the Lord Butler Leisure centre, and Saffron Screen cinema.
Audley End House is a stunning English Heritage property with wonderful gardens, tea rooms and play areas for children, and is only 2 miles away. Numerous events are hosted there throughout the year, and a minature railway is adjacent to Audley End House and provides some great entertainment for the younger children.
Duxford Air Museum is 6 miles and the wonderful city of Cambridge, great for punting and sight seeing, just 15 miles away.
Audley End train station is 2.5 miles away with regular direct trains into London, taking about 1 hour. There are also regular trains to Cambridge and London Stansted airport.Churchside offers the perfect place for a relaxing holiday and a great location to explore the beautiful surrounding areas and countryside.
Next door to the apartment is 'The Bumpy' which is a local nature reserve. Deer are often seen and owls heard here. There are numerous beautiful walks and cycle rides in the area, and these can easily take in local pubs

Booking Notes:
Full payment is due 30 days before the arrival date. Any deposit paid is non refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made up to 2 weeks before your arrival date you will not be liable for the total balance. Bookings will only be cancelled by ourselves if your accommodation was unavailable for any reason in which case we would refund the full amount paid. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Changeover Day:
Minimum stay 2 nights. Changeover day is flexible, please contact us. Arrival is generally after 3pm and departure by 10am unless otherwise arranged.

One dog is charged at £10 extra per stay
