The Lookout is reached by a flight of stairs and is a beautifully proportioned two bedroom, open plan apartment. The feeling of space is achieved by the huge picture window at the front of the apartment that provides unbroken views out to sea where you can watch local fisherman at work, yachts collecting, the Navy wandering about, Brittany ferries coming and going out of Plymouth and Plymouth breakwater. The proximity to the beach can not be faulted just pick up your towel and walk!

Delightful seaside apartment

My partner and I stayed 4 nights at the Lookout in September 2016. Like other guests before us we found it a perfect choice for our short break in Cornwall. The apartment is spacious and well-equipped with good quality kitchenware - we wanted for nothing - and the apartment we found roomier than it appears on the the photos. We were particularly taken by the thoughtful touches Mel provided. The lights were on to welcome us when we arrived after dark, there were lovely local biscuits and some coffee, tea and milk in the fridge. The induction hob had us foxed on the first morning, but we soon found the handbook in a nearby kitchen drawer and then we were away! Everything in the apartment was spotlessly clean and it has a wonderful fresh, airy seaside feel. It's easy to relax here as you hear the sea lap the shore as you take in the views. I would recommend the Lookout to anyone. Thanks Mel and Charles for a lovely stay.

Beautiful Views 20 Feet from the Beach

Dog Friendly accomodation is a regular consideration for our family. Space is another for our two teenage lads.

This accomodation has been ideal for us. It is a clean, well kept first floor apartment accessed via a run of stairs. The front door is 20 feet from the shale beach and the wonderful view from the large window on the balcony changes constantly with the time of day, the weather and whichever ship, boat or ferry passes by.

There is a pub which does food about three doors down which is always full of locals and tourists. The pub attracts a nice crowd and although you can hear the clientele from the open balcony door, it always seems to be polite friendly banter and laughter.

There are a couple of other pubs in the little town which do good food and local beer and cider.

Because of the narrow streets in the town, parking is limited to the public car park. You can pull up outside The Lookout to load and unload your luggage, but a weeks ticket costs £25 for parking. This was explained by Mel prior to booking though so there were no surprises. The car park is literally 2-3minutes walk away.

There is kayak/boat/paddle board hire on one of the other little beaches. This is the same beach where you catch the Cawsand Ferry to Barbican in Plymouth. Very cheap and the journey is about half an hour.

The local store stocks the usual local store produce and there is also a Sainsburys in Torpoint, just up from the car ferry.

There are lovely walks either way you go from The Lookout. You can either get to Edgcumbe House, or if you go the other way, you end up at Rame Head with superb coastal views.

Mel was in regular email and phone contact prior to going down and it wasn't until the last day when I handed the key in that I met her face to face so we were pretty much left to our own devices knowing that if there was a problem, she wasn't far away.

For our first time to Cornwall, this has been an excellent experience in a lovely little seaside town with plenty of photo opportunities, breathtaking scenery and a more than helpful property owner. Thank you very much !

Perfect peace in the heart of the action

A fabulous antidote to those slightly pokey British holiday cottages you sometimes end up in - bright, airy and incredibly roomy. Brilliant for families with messy teenagers who bring enough 'must-have' stuff to fill an average sized mansion. Add to that the instant relaxation that the Lookout offers and the incredibly well appointed (and much used) balcony, and you have the full package. Truly splendid!

Fautless!

My husband, two kids and I came to Kingsand again this summer and chose to stay at The Lookout for the first time. Kingsand itself is a beautiful place - charming, pretty, friendly and quiet but with plenty to enjoy - and The Lookout provides exceptionally comfortable, clean and well-equipped accommodation in addition to, quite simply, the most stunning view of the sea. The enormous lounge window frames a picture postcard uninterrupted view of the sea that just takes your breath away! Mel, the owner of the apartment was fantastic too - very pleasant to deal with in the run up to our stay and she made sure everything was perfect, and it was. Happy memories made once again - dreaming of summer already!

Fabulous!

Four of us stayed here for a long weekend beginning of November. The apartment is spotless and very comfortable. Beautifully furnished with sofas and a small dining table - we didn't want for anything. The view over the bay was absolutely magical. We were all up by 6am to watch the sunrise. Added bonus have a very good café right below us. We will be back!
