About the Owner

I was born and grew up on the property where the cottage sits. The cottage is where the original family home was, it was rebuilt 10 years ago. It is a passion of mine to share this beautiful area with people from all over and let them see what the Highlands has to offer.

Animals are a large part of my life and are all part of the family, come and feed the lambs, horses, hens, ducks and geese.

Red squirrels and woodpeckers can be seen in the woods beside the cottage. You can walk freely around the wood and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Cottage is lovely, thank you for the welcome pack, we have had a really peaceful and relaxing time in your lovely cottage. We have enjoyed your lovely fresh eggs of a morning. Thank you for being so kind to us and will definitely be back.

Pat and Ian, Liverpool

This was the best cottage ever we have had in Scotland!!!. Avery warm welcome, a good bottle of wine, chocolate, eggs and sadly rain but we loved it.

Fous en Lief, Belgium

Back again for our 6th visit to you, now feels like home from home. Black Ilse show was entertaining, saw dolphins from Fort George, boys loved helping with the animals as always. Thanks for the goodies and warm welcome as always.

Wonderfully large quiet rural house

  • 4 of 5

Everything in a house you could want, including brand new washer & dryer (bring your own soap). Large L/R w/TV & stereo - if you can figure out how to get sound. Kitchen has all utensils, but no spices. Nearest store Inverness. Veronica lives next store, easy to get ahold of and great to talk to. You look out to quiet pastures including horses and rabbit's.

Clear instructions were provided before arrival, but best to find the well lighted cottage the first time in the light of day. Because of darkness we missed a sign or 2 & had to call. We were given further guidance immediately.

Highly recommend home, location, & host!

great home, great host, great stay

Located near many golf courses and distilleries, this is a great place to stay for your Scottish travels. Everything you could possibly need is in place, including good wifi. Would recommend to anyone, and will return myself at the next opportunity. Many thanks!

Clean neat beautifully presented home with a wonderfully warm country cottage feel.

  • 5 of 5

Veronica had every thing ready and waiting for our arrival including additional notes to assist us to find the home more easily. The cottage was toasty warm, and Veronica had the wood fire ready to just set fire if we wanted the added touch of a log fire on the cold nights. The cottage is set on part of a working farm site and part of a small cluster of rural properties set away from the major tourist traffic, yet we were only a short drive to the local regional scenic sights and great choices to eat out if we did not want to prepare are out own meals in the very well appointed kitchen. Wished we planned and booked a longer of stay.

Be careful.

  • 3 of 5

We had an excellent time and got on well with the Owner who was friendly and EXTREMELY helpful and receptive.

The accommodation is lovely and we'll equipped however, there were five areas that had not been cleaned, including milk at bottom of fridge that had turned to cheese and four totally unwashed cereal bowls in the cupboard. We dealt with these things without complaint but in attempt to vacate as close to 1000hrs. as possible we failed to vacuum upstairs and clean the bath, which we had never used favouring the shower, of the stain and dirt already present in it on our arrival. We left the accommodation in a better state of cleanliness than found yet were given a hurtful down-rating for OUR cleanliness.

This is the first time in twenty nine years of holidaying in Scotland that we have been faced with an impersonal critique procedure like this. We will sadly not be re-visiting this accommodation again, as we had all wanted to and will not be booking any more accommodation via this service, which has left a stain on the holiday.
