About VERONICA TERVET

I was born and grew up on the property where the cottage sits. The cottage is where the original family home was, it was rebuilt 10 years ago. It is a passion of mine to share this beautiful area with people from all over and let them see what the Highlands has to offer.

Animals are a large part of my life and are all part of the family, come and feed the lambs, horses, hens, ducks and geese.

Red squirrels and woodpeckers can be seen in the woods beside the cottage. You can walk freely around the wood and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Cottage is lovely, thank you for the welcome pack, we have had a really peaceful and relaxing time in your lovely cottage. We have enjoyed your lovely fresh eggs of a morning. Thank you for being so kind to us and will definitely be back.

Pat and Ian, Liverpool

This was the best cottage ever we have had in Scotland!!!. Avery warm welcome, a good bottle of wine, chocolate, eggs and sadly rain but we loved it.

Fous en Lief, Belgium

Back again for our 6th visit to you, now feels like home from home. Black Ilse show was entertaining, saw dolphins from Fort George, boys loved helping with the animals as always. Thanks for the goodies and warm welcome as always.

All we needed

  • 5 of 5

Excellent location for touring the Highlands. Owner was very welcoming, close by but not intrusive. Enjoyed seeing her animals (kids would love it). Our dog was made welcome too! Local town of Beauly had excellent facilities for shopping, Inverness half hour away and lots of easy parking. We came for a wedding but would be happy to return for a longer holiday as so much to see and do. The property had everything we needed for a longer stay, very well equipped and also very comfortable, clean and spacious. Excellent walks close by if you have a dog (or not!) and owner very kindly offered us access to their nearby woodland to take the dog for a run.

Very comfortable and well-equipped country house with animals

  • 5 of 5

Veronica greeted us warmly. Our young children loved feeding and petting the many animals every chance they got! Oak Cottage is one of the nicest and most well-equipped self-catering lodging we have stayed.

Oak Cottage - Wonderful well-equipped property

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oak Cottage. Veronica greeted us warmly upon our arrival and made sure everything in the cottage was to our liking. Oak Cottage is without a doubt the nicest and most well-equipped self-catering lodging we have stayed in during our trip to the UK and Scotland, and one of the best we have ever stayed in. It is quiet, spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. There is a half-bath upstairs, and a full bath downstairs. The living room is large and has a wood stove, and there is enough wood to build a fire in it every night if you so desire. The house has central heating, though, so you don't really need to use the wood stove. The kitchen is large and has all the dishes, pots, pans, and cooking utensils you need. There is a separate dining room off the kitchen. Veronica provided a welcome basket with chocolates, beer, wine, and six eggs from her chickens. She also has a horse, pony, sheep, geese, and rabbits. She invited us to visit with the animals, which we did. We had a quiet and peaceful stay at Oak Cottage and are already planning our next visit.

Very comfortable and spacious house on a working farm. Our young children loved feeding and petting the many animals every chance they got! The location is great, close to Loch Ness and Inverness. The host was lovely. Can't really fault anything about it. Would definitely stay here again.
