"My wife and I would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay at Bank Cottage. We both had a fantastic time, the cottage is cosy, well equipped and provides amazing views of the river Wye and surrounding valleys. We are already missing the cottage and look forward to coming and staying again. You have both been wonderful hosts, thank you for all your help and guidance."

Lovely cottage with cosy stove and open fire for winter stays. Fantastic garden and deck with barbie for summer ones. Great views and forest walks from the front door, and we loved the loo with a view!

Beautiful cottage and stunning scenary

  • 5 of 5

We had a two night stay and wished we could have stayed for longer. Booking, communication and directions were spot on and the owners responding quickly and were happy to help with any questions we had. The cottage is beautiful (the pictures don't do it justice) and every little detail had been thought about. The views are stunning and we wished we had more time to explore further. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bank Cottage or return ourselves.

Very nice cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to explore Wales and visit a number of castles in the area and we thought this cottage would be a good location to travel from. The cottage has been updated and it was very clean and well maintained. Doug (owner) was nice enough to have eggs, butter, bread and a bottle of wine waiting for us at check in. Him and his wife were extremely friendly, helpful and easy to work with. We had dinner at The White Horse pub (down the street) and the food and service were very good. While we traveled in November (not the greatest weather in England) we were lucky as the temps were in the high 50's and the days were sunny. While the cottage is a little hard to find, we were able to travel everywhere from this location which was very convenient. We visited Pembroke Castle, Caerphilly, Cardiff Castle. Chepstow, Raglan and a few more. I'm sure that the pool and tennis courts would be nice to use if we came at a different time. I would recommend this cottage and working with Doug was a pleasure.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review Justo but Ithink you have selected the wrong cottage, we don't have a swimming pool or tennis courts.

Quaint cottage in a stunningly beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

We were so pleased when we arrived. The cottage is very pretty and sitting on the side of the hill, so with amazing views of the valley below.

Inside is warm and homely, very well presented. We got the fires going quickly and the place becomes everything you want in the colder months :)

It's a lovely area for walks, beware the falling leaves making it slippery, but the owners have helpfully provided walking poles and umbrellas.

All in all, it was idyllic for a romantic getaway, we would most definitely visit again.

Spectacular views from a cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Jean's lovely cottage was a favourite during our European tour. The cottage was exactly as described, and the views were beyond our expectation. I have but one cautionary comment to make - the "road" into the cottage is very narrow, only a single vehicle may pass, carefully. The pictures Jean sent in this regard were most helpful, but it is worth advising your customers. Did it affect our stay? No! But it would have been nice know ahead.

The property was clean and very well maintained. We truly enjoyed the gardens and yard, and the wonderful deck that provided an elevated view of the beautiful valley nestled below us. The Welcome basket was so thoughtful and the service was great. We would have no hesitations to recommend this property to friends or family.

We visited Tintern Abbey, a spectacular site of ruins which is only about 3 kms from the cottage. We also had dinner at a local restaurant called the Fountain Inn Restaurant. While it was off the beaten track, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. There is a corner store at the foot of the hill from the cottage which had all the basics and some very friendly folks.

Thanks for everything Jean. We had a wonderful time.
