Champernhayes is set on a gentle southern slope of a West Dorset hillside, overlooking an almost unpopulated undulating valley, with views to the sea at Charmouth in the distance, and just over the hill lies the charming historic port of Lyme Regis. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the UK’s only natural World Heritage Site, this coastline is renowned for its fascinating geology and fossils – known locally as the ‘Jurassic Coastline’ – a real life ‘Jurassic Park’! The smaller, single-storey cottages at Champernhayes have been created from the conversion of the original farmhouse buildings, which date back to 1482. These cottages, grouped around a central courtyard, have been awarded 5 stars by the Tourist Board, their highest grade for comfort, location, décor and facilities. The traditional country-style kitchens are open plan, with a dining area, and comprehensively equipped. Most bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms.
Coast/Beach:
The sandy beach at Charmouth is just 5 minutes drive away and also the sandy beach at Lyme Regis is just 10 minutes drive away.
