The houses are designed in a way to retain their privacy among the olive trees. The 70m2 house can host up to 4 persons and is built on one level. The 130m2 villa can host up to six persons, and is built on 2 levels. Each villa has its own private swimming pool with stunning views towards the Aegean, and surrounded by large courtyards. Climbing down 100 steps will take to a semi private beach away from crowds and ideal for relaxation. The basic material which was used for the construction of the houses was local stone. The walls, which reach a width of 50cm, are 100% built out of stone, following traditional building techniques. The roofs, but also every wooden structure outside the houses, are made of Chestnut which was brought from mt. Athos. The property can be reached from the main road, offering isolation and peacefulness at the same time. N. Klima, a small settlement by the sea with boat marina, is only 700m. away, and may provide all necessary shopping and basic facilities.

This 70m2 stone house can host up to 4 persons and is built on one level. The main open plan space includes the living room, the kitchen, a small w.c., but also a double- bed structure. A separate bedroom and the main bathroom of the house complete the interior’s layout. From the interior spaces you may access the swimming pool which offers stunning sea views and sunsets. The villa is surrounded by large courtyards and olive trees. Oak floors are used for the interior spaces, while for bathrooms and kitchen, which are hand made structures, a cement- based mortar is used- occasionally colored- using once again old traditional techniques. The house is fully equipped with quality electric devices (e.g. BOSCH washing machines and kitchen equipment). Almost all furniture is handmade by local carpenters, and some old furniture was restored and re- used.

I am an architect. I live in Athens and I come from Glossa village in Skopelos island, where I spend most of my spring and summer time due to business. I have worked in several areas of Greece, but also in restore projects concerning ancient monuments and had the chance to visit many islands that way. I also enjoy travelling abroad and have spend some time in the UK studying. However, when summer comes, I cannot think a better place to be than Skopelos.

A perfect retreat. A perfect villa

We can't say enough wonderful things about our holiday.

We have rented houses/villas all over Europe for the last 20 years and found our perfect house this year.

The house is lovely, exactly what we had hoped for our holiday.

Perfect because of the amazing location:

• direct access to a beautiful private beach

• walking distance to a village with lovely mountain backed beaches, taverna’s and bakery etc.

• 10 mins drive to the best restaurants on the island

• Stunning views from all aspects of the house (mountains, forests, horizon with sunsets)

• Private, not overlooked at all, but not isolated

Perfect because the house was:

• Romantic, beautiful, stylish, functional

• Location as above

• Safe, gated

• Very clean, cared for and well maintained

• High end, well equipped

Perfect because Konstantinos, his mum, and Eva were delightful:

• We were met at the port and directed to the car rental and house

• Homemade jams, honey, cookies, cake, milk and water in the fridge on our arrival. We even had the most delicious lemon cheesecake and orange cake “appear” in the fridge on more than one occasion

• All communications regarding the booking were easy and clear

• Konstantinos is a very charming and honest person

We recommend this house and Skopelos very highly, and will return in 2015

Location

My Conservation Studies MA in York (UK), along with my love for my family place, inspired me to build these 2 unique houses, based on old traditional techniques, using local materials and handmade elements. The olive grove inside which the houses are situated, is active, and my family still gets olive oil for a 4th generation. In these terms, it was very important that the houses wouldn't distort the natural environment, but instead to become a part of it. The property has the rare privilege of being close to a small sea settlement, but being isolated and peaceful at the same time. The property ends right on the sea so 100 steps lead you to a semi- private beach, ideal for relaxation and away from crowds.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

100m. to the closest beach which lies in the end of the property. 5min. walk and 100 steps to reach it. This is a semi private beach, ideal to avoid crowds and perfect for relaxation.

Kastani (Mama Mia beach) and Milia, the island's most famous and beautiful beaches are 5km away. Only 10min. drive away by car, or 15min. by bus.

Travel:

40min. drive by car to reach main port of Skopelos town

20min. drive by car to reach island's secondary port of Glossa.

Distances:

40min. drive by car to Skopelos town

20min. drive by car to reach Glossa village.

700m. away lies the small settlement of N. Klima, where you may find all basic facilities such as small markets, restaurants, bakeries etc., but also a boat marina inside the small port.

40min. drive by car to the chapel of Ag. Ioannis (Mama Mia church)

The views towards the Aegean Sea along with the sunsets, are really something not to be missed. Only 5min. walk to crystal clear waters... In terms of construction and quality, these are rare houses, inspired by local craftsmanship and tradition combined with modern and high quality living standards. The whole idea derived from my family's love to this place, so I think this is something all guests sense in a form of spontaneous and genuine hospitality. P.S.Don't miss my mother's pies and the fresh vegetables from our garden.:-)

The houses provide everything, from bed linen, towels, sunbeds, and devices such as hairdryers and kitchen equipment (coffee makers etc.) Outside: Each house has its own private swimming pool. 4mx7mx1.80(max. depth) are the dimensions for the big villa Laia, and 4x6x1.70 (max. depth) are the dimensions for the small villa Zoi.
