About the Owner

Born and bred in Barnoldswick we relocated to Warwickshire in 1999. We bought Cobble Cottage in August 2012 as we wanted a place of our own when visiting friends and family. After months of hardwork renovating the cottage we now have the best of both worlds, living in Warwickshire and visiting our northern roots with the children. We have decided to open our door and share the cottage with you as we feel Cobble Cottage would make the perfect getaway, whether it is to relax and unwind or to get out and about to explore the towns and beautiful countryside of the surrounding area.

So Quiet.

  • 4 of 5

Delightful cottage in a beautiful area. Comfortable, clean and so quiet; just as described. Booking easy and Abbie was quick to respond to emails.

Barnoldswick is small and friendly, with a good selection of independent shops. This made a nice change from the generic shops you find in most places these days.

We were lucky to have glorious weather and the surrounding scenery is stunning. Had a day in York, visited Hebden Bridge, Haworth and the National Trust property Riddlesdon Hall in Keighley. Nearby, Skipton is pretty and has a great farm shop on the outskirts.

We packed a lot into three days and there's so much more to see, but that's for another time.

The perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Cobble Cottage is just perfect; situated minutes away from a friendly town and fully equipped with everything you need.

Comfortably furnished, it was just like being in somebody's home.

It is just charming. And we were lucky enough to have glorious weather to complete the local walks and visit Skipton, Ilkley and Bolton Abbey.

There are plently of places to eat but the cottage is perfectly equipped to cook your own meals too.

I cannot recommend this holiday destination enough and cannot wait to go back.

Thank you Abbie and family.

Cosy hideaway in a surprisingly nice small town

  • 5 of 5

Property very much as described and in photos. Very clean with everything you need. High quality equipment and bedding. Shower was good too. Nice independent shops in the town centre about a 5min walk away - and a few nice pubs and cafes. Less touristy (in a good way!) than staying in one of the more known centres like Skipton. Walk the other way out of the cottage and you are straight into the countryside. Wheets Hill was a good walk from the cottage. I would definitely recommend this and would consider staying again if I came to the Dales. Visitors book with recommendations for pubs etc (sorry we forgot to write in this!)

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your '5 star' rating! We're really pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay at Cobble Cottage and found everything to a good standard. I like your comment about Barnoldswick being less touristy but in a good way! I have to agree, it's a great base to visit all the busier surrounding towns and tourist spots with everything you need on the doorstep. Hopefully you will be back to visit the Dales again soon, with another stay at Cobble Cottage (next time you could write a message in our visitors book haha!) Thank you one again, Abbie & Gary. Xx

Lovely home from home in a fantastic part of the world

  • 4 of 5

We are so pleased to have found Cobble Cottage. It was just right for the two of us; easy walk to the centre of town and local hills and canals and an easy and quick drive to the rest of Pedal. The property is comfortably furnished and in a quiet area, and Barnoldswick has some fascinating history and trails to explore. We especially the Barwick Tap, a micro pub with great music on the Saturday we were there.

Abbie was very helpful, as was her Father-in-law who lives locally and helped when we couldn't find a few things.

Would very much recommend the cottage, the town and the area.

Location

From the Owner

We bought the cottage as it was full of character and resides in one of the oldest parts of town. Although we are not serious ramblers we enjoy walking and this area offers some great walking with lovely views. Cobble Cottage is conveniently placed for the town centre and amenities.
