“Cozy, comfortable, and in the perfect location!”

My husband and I spent a weekend in the townhouse in Lymington and it was wonderful. Just one block from the High Street but still a quiet and peaceful place to relax. Perfect location from which to explore the New Forest, the walking trails of the Lymington estuary, and the charming town itself. There is a supermarket one block away so we were able to easily get what we needed and cook a meal in the fully stocked and modern kitchen. The upstairs living room is full of light and very comfortable. We loved it and hope to be back soon. Thank you!

Everything you could wish for as a home from home experience. Underfloor heating is just great and cosy. The lounge/kitchen/diner has all that is required.

Gillian host made sure all went smoothly and deposit returned very promptly.

Would definitely recommend staying there for small family groups.

Perfect pied-à-terre for touring

  • 5 of 5

The open plan, first floor living accommodation is delightful - well planned, well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom likewise. The bedrooms are on the cosy side, but fine for two adults, probably for two children as well, but not so well appointed.

The situation is just right. Very close to food shops for self-catering, but with plenty of cafés for morning coffee and light lunches and a variety of venues for evening meals all within a few minutes walk. It is also very easy to drive further afield for good food.

For touring the southern part of the New Forest, this property is beautifully situated with easy access to all the villages and well-known tourist areas.

We have already recommended your house to our families as it is so perfect but I think I would put on a lot of weight with M and S so close!

Lovely house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house, in a great location. The living area is light and airy. Close to the shops, and lots of restaurants within walking distance. We were able to take a trip to the Isle of Wight, and had a BBQ on the beach at nearby Barton on Sea. We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Haven restaurant and would recommend tapas at La Vina.

We found the holiday let very convenient to the town, restaurants and many walks, excellent.

The accomadation was unique in that the berooms were on the ground floor leaving the upstairs an open plan with plenty of light from a lovely double height window. The upstairs was adaptable for many activities and one always felt included whether cooking, or relaxing.

The accomadation was clean, and well maintained.

An enjoyable few days in a lovely town setting. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Fabulous Restful Stay

  • 5 of 5

4 of us have just had a lovely few days in Gill's place in Heathcote Mews. The accomodation is 'new build' and a stunning arrangement with a curved outer wall. Downstairs is a spaceous first bedroom, a coshy second bedroom quite big enough for a 6ft.3 man and his wife and a lovely bathroom with excellent bath / shower facilities. Upstairs is a glorious room which reaches to the apex of the roof with no loft giving a great feeling of spaciousness and light, this is devided into a well appointed kithen, a dinning area and a large and spacious lounge area with TV and french windows opening on to a small courtyard. The location is superb; a completely quiet mews style courtyard with plenty of parking and less than 50 yards from the top of Lymmintons famous and lovely High Street. A third of a mile down the High Street you reach the quaint cobbled harbour area full of restaurants and pubs. The widerer surroundings are stunning with veiws across the river to the Isle of Wight and just down the road Newhaven ,Hurst Castle and Beaulieu.

From the Owner

I was thrilled to find a property that was so near everything; shops, restaurants, and Harbour and yet in such as a peaceful cul de sac. It is so near so many things; Walks in the New Forest, The wonderful Exbury Gardens and Beaulieu with its Abbey and car museum , The salt marshes that are rich in bird life , Boat trips, round the bay and also to Hurst Castle from Keyhaven and of course just the sea itself, and its great views of the Isle of Wight.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

I could accommodate for painters (being a painter myself), the council organises town walks, and there are many sailing courses nearby.

BRIDGE in Lymington (see the club site) and also at Walhampton.

Bke hire, New Forest Activities run kyaking , forest safaris, and there is a 36 mile? coastal walk along the coast.

The Lymington Harbour is about a few mins. walk to end of High Street (approx 800metres). Milford on Sea is the nearest beach, and there are many lovely walks across salt marshes towards Hurst Castle or KeyHaven. Good day out is to take a boat from Mudeford towards Hengisbury Head with sandy beaches and a restaurant (Approx mins away by car), and further afield to surfing at Boscombe or Bournemouth (which are both sandy too.)

Nearest Airports: Bournemouth and Southampton. There is a British Rail and a Bus station in town. Car hire not essential as there are good buses, trains and ferries. Access to the south is easy, and it is a lovely day out to go by ferry to the Isle of Wight, and be transported back in time by the slower pace of life, by visiting the historic Osbourne House, by enjoying a great walk or just by sampling some of the delicious local fresh fish.

Around 6 miles to Bealieu for the Abbey and Motor museum, Bournemouth around 22 miles, Southampton around 30miles, Christchurch around 15 miles.

Easy access to Isle of Wight (via one stop on the train or a few mins by car or 20? min walk.)

Further Details:

M&S, Waitrose, Boots, and Tesco are very near in Lymington, but there is still the charm of the individual boutiques, or Elliots the department store. There are coffee houses, restaurants, pubs, and even a museum with local exhibitions. Several churches that regularly hold musical events where all are welcome.

You can easily walk to the nearby tennis courts, cricket/football club, or the famous open air swimming pool, and so much more.

From the Owner

I can easily pop over to the Isle of Wight, take the train to places (Bournemouth, Southampton etc.) and leave the car parked safely at the house. We love the simplicity of being in Lymington, no need to shop in advance, worry about how long you are at the Harbour having tea, and so many other things, but come and see for yourselves.
