Apartment in Wembury Point, Plymouth - In an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Apartment Is 5 Minutes Walk From Beach

The apartment is modern with a beachy feel. It has 2 bedrooms (one double that has the wet room atttached to it, and one twin), an open plan living space that is light and airy.

The apartment has underfloor heating, wifi, TV, blueray/DVD player, Bose music speaker for iphone docking, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Parking is beside the white access gate. On passing through the gate you walk through a small patio area that is fenced and secure. The outdoor area has a rattan patio table and chairs with a small BBQ. There is washing line to dry your wet clothes. Although the apartment itself does not have sea views, once you leave the building you are on the SW Coastal path and all that comes from that beautiful environment. This is the magic of the place and if you enjoy nothing more than a good walk in an unspoilt National Trust setting , you won't be disappointed. We are happy to allow dogs and we are sure they will love the walks, beaches and the sea Dogs are allowed on the beach below the house). The area is popular for walkers, kayakers and bird watchers. The villages that surround us are Wembury, Heybrook Bay, Down Thomas and Newton Ferrers. All are Charming and worth a visit (they all have good places to eat out too). Wembury has a stunning and very popular church and I am sure some of our guests will be wedding guests.

About Kerry Dunn

We live adjacent to the property in the main house with our three boys George 15, Harvey, 14 and Ollie 11. We have 3 dogs who love the walks around the coastline. Kerry and I grew up in the local area. We have both travelled, but love the setting that Wembury Point offers, so when the property came up for auction we could not let it go.

We both work in Plymouth. Kerry teaches at the local primary school and I run my own Financial services business as an independent financial adviser.

We and are very much a part of the local village community and enjoy and appreciate our special surroundings. We bought our house at auction in 2006 and knocked it down in 2011. Prior to knocking it down we were able to build what is the Annexe so we could live in it while the main build was going on. We fitted it out so it is completely self contained. We were asked many times if we would let it out,now we have moved into the main house. There is a separate entrance to the Apartment and parking directly outside. We are happy to familiarise you with walks, pubs and places to visit on arrival.

Why Kerry Dunn chose South Devon

We bought the original property to fulfil our dream of building our own house. The annexe is completely self contained with everything you need to have a relaxed break.

The location of Wembury point is on a peninsular. The only vehicle traffic is that of visiting walkers and the local bus. The mornings and evenings are therefore very quiet and peaceful.

What was the old Naval gunnery school has been closed now for over 10 years and has been bought by the National Trust. This was previously owned by the Navy. The National Trust have linked it into the coastal path network and it is a wonderful addition to the local area, especially for walkers. The area is set within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coast directly below the Annexe is part of the Uk Marine Conservation Programme. There are numerous ornithologists that visit the area to bird watch, the Cirl Bunting being a favourite. Walks will take you to the local villages of Wembury, Heybrook Bay and Down Thomas.

Many people stay for short breaks too. The local church is very busy with weddings as the setting is outstanding, so many wedding guests stay.

What makes this apartment unique

The benefits of staying at the Annexe is there are some amazing walks, some idyllic mornings alone on the beach and rocks below. Dogs are allowed on the beach in front of the house. We have 3 local pubs all within 20 minutes walking distance and a superb local hotel (Langdon Court Hotel) which is steeped in history.

If you enjoy watersports, we are a 10 minute drive from MountBatten Watersports Centre. There are several golf courses near by.

It really is the place to come and stay if you enjoy a good walk by the coast. We are very close to the beautiful estuary with Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo. It only takes 20 minutes by car to get to the centre of Plymouth. Dining out in Plymouth is currently a real pleasure with many great places to dine out. The Barbican with all its history and more recently the royal William Yard which was originally the Naval port that has been beautifully restored with bars, restaurants and and art gallery.

Outside: There is a small garden with patio area. This area is very secure and very quiet. There is Patio furniture for four to sit. There is a whirly gig washing line and a small barbecue. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Duvets, pillows, bedlinen, towels (not beach towels), tea towels included for each week of your stay. Laundry of bedlinen, bath and tea towels, as well as changeover clean included. Starter cleaning materials provided & Welcome Pack.

We had a fabulous 4 days, staying in this lovely apartment. The apartment is situated in the most beautiful location with incredible views and stunning countryside. The owners are the perfect hosts and made us feel completely at home. Thankyou so much!!!

All mod cons - wet room, big flat screen TV, very comfy bed - in a perfect location.

I would recommend the annexe at Wyndswaye to anyone. It's lovely, very tastefully decorated and modern, and Kerry, the owner has thought of everything. The wet room (such a luxury) has lots of soft fluffy white towels, the double bed is really comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could need, and the comfy sitting area has a large flat screen TV. And it's dog friendly! Best of all is the location: the property is just a few steps away from the SW Coast path.The walks in either direction are fabulous with stunning coastal scenery. Tips for anyone booking the property - do an online food order at Tesco for delivery when you arrive as there are no big food stores to hand. If you like curry, order a takeaway from Papa Raj - I did this online with my phone using an app called 'Just Eat' as there is Wi Fi in the property but no phone reception (at least, not EE).Visit Noss Mayo - a beautiful place with a 6 mile circular walk taking in the river estuary, the coast and a wood - and Bigburyon Sea/Burgh Island.

Utterly delightful

This is a lovely place in a beautiful setting run by genuinely nice people. Absolutely faultless, from the first minute we were there. The owners made us really welcome. The annex was spotless, well equipped and in one of the nicest parts of the country - a national trust coast park was a mere five minute walk away with stunning views. Local pubs were welcoming (I can particularly recommend the Odd Wheel if you're a foodie and dog lover) and the people are all friendly.

We'll definitely be back - Glynne and Kerry, thanks for making our stay really special.

Lovely holiday accommodation in beautiful location

Lovely holiday home in a beautiful location!

We spent a lovely long weekend at wyndswaye with our little dog. Kerry and Glynne made us feel really welcome as well as recommending us places to go and things to see! The annex feels totally private despite being next door to the house however we knew there was a friendly face next door if we needed any advice.

The annex is lovely and has everything you'd need for a great holiday! Would highly recommend.
