Parnham Cottage is the perfect location to relax and explore West Dorset. The cottage offers a modern well appointed kitchen with a large dining/living room, sitting room, downstairs loo, twin bedroom, double bedroom and a family bathroom. It is ideal is you enjoy walking or wishing to escape and enjoy peace and quiet. Parnham Farm is surrounded by beautiful countryside and there are many footpaths on the farm. There is a private terrace with table and chairs and a gas barbeque together with extensive gardens and tennis court of Parnham farm which guests you can use.

Hello, I am a mother of 3 young children and a chartered surveyor. I live nearby and available to provide additional information during your stay and deal with any problems. Netherbury is a lovely place for short break or weekly holiday.

There are many beaches within 5 to 10 miles, including Burton Bradstock, West Bay, Eype, Seatown, Charmouth and Lyme Regis. The nearest town is Beaminster which is less than one mile away and can be reached on foot or by car. The Jurassic Coast covers 25 miles of coastline and has been designated a World Heritage Site. Bridport is 5 miles away and is a bustling market town with a regular market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. West Bay is a small fishing town two miles south of Bridport.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Exeter which is approx. 50 minute drive away or Bournemouth which is approx. one hour drive away. The nearest train station is Crewkerne in Somerset and is approx. 15-20minute drive.

Further Details:

A good selection of local pubs nearby – The Hare and Hounds in Waytown is walking distance from the cottage and the owner’s recommendation is the Half Moon at Melplash, approx. 1.5 miles away. Beaminster (1 mile away) has a good selection of independent shops and cafes with a small supermarket in the square. Bridport is a larger market town with three large supermarkets, lively street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays with a good selections of shops, restaurants and cafes. The owner recommends the Stable Bar at the Bull Hotel for cider and pizza’s. West Bay has ice cream and fish and chips stands/huts, three public house, Watch house café (owner’s recommendation) and an excellent sea food restaurant, the Riverside. On a rainy day we recommend the Leisure Centre in Bridport, bowling at Freshwater or the cinema in Dorchester.

  • Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 6 (2 Bedrooms) Notes on bedrooms: There are two bedrooms upstairs, one being a double bedroom with Kingsize bed (sleeps 2) and the second bedroom is a twin bedroom (sleeps 2). So comfortably sleeps 4 but also has a sofa bed in the sitting room which could sleep an additional 2 people.

Notes:

  • Outside: Parnham Cottage has a private terrace with table and chairs and a gas barbeque. There is also a tennis court and extensive gardens of Parnham Farm adjoining the cottage which guests are welcome to use. There is also extensive footpaths leading from the property and access along a long farm track. Utility Room: There is a separate utility/washroom with a washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen and towels are provided for 4 people. Including t-towels. The cottage is cleaned and towels and linen changed weekly or after each stay if shorter. Other: There is a downstairs WC with basin. There is seating for 6 at the kitchen table and in the sitting room. Crockery and cutlery provided for 6.
