Overview

Property

Updated: 30-Oct-2016
Apartment in Essert Romand Nr. Morzine, Haute Savoie, Rhone Alpes, France - Peaceful Village Location, 5 Minutes To Bustling Ski Resort of Morzine

Chalet Chablais is a traditional wood and stone building. The apartment is well appointed to a very high standard to provide a large open plan living area with underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove. Doors open onto a large balcony to make the most of the sunshine and stunning mountain views. The chalet is located in the quiet village of Essert Romand just minutes in the car from the ski resorts of Morzine and Les Gets. There is a supermarket five minutes away and further down the valley is the traditional town, St Jean d'Aulps. Easily accessible by plane, Geneva is 75 minutes away. In the winter it is a wonderful area for the non-skier with cleared lakeside trails, guided snowshoe trails to see the wildlife and mountain restaurants accessible by lift and foot. The changeover day is Sunday

Fabulous modern and spacious chalet

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic holiday - beautiful chalet with plenty of space for my two teenage sons to spread out! - Clean, modern kitchen and bathrooms. Lovely living area with a log burner which we used most days. A pretty and quiet spot with great views and within easy reach of Morzine and Les Gets. Would definitely come back again.

Chalet Chablais

  • 5 of 5

We've recently stayed at Chalet Chablais and had a great time. We've stayed in in a number of chalets when skiing in Morzine and its definitely the best. It's ideally situated and presented to a very high standard.

The chalet is a great size with a lovely open plan kitchen/lounge area with everything you could ever need. There's a great selection of books and board games which kept the kids entertained after a day on the slopes.

For those that ski a great plus is the downstairs boot room which allows you to keep the ski gear out of the way and get it dry for the following morning.

A great base to explore Morzine and the surrounding area from.

Comfortable luxe

  • 5 of 5

We (family of 5) stayed at Chalet Chablais for the second time.

The Chalet is very quiet, comfortable and luxurious with modern equipment. We went by car to les Prodains cable car to start skiing in Avoriaz and Morzine centre is near.

Excellent chalet with everything you need for a ski holiday with all your home comforts included

  • 5 of 5

Family of 5 who stayed for 1 week in February 2016. We rented a car at Geneva. We have being skiing each year in Morzine for over 10 years now and this is the best chalet that we have stayed in. Everything you would want in your ski chalet is here and the decor of the chalet is very nice. The chalet is very cosy and there is plenty of hot water. There is a lovely restaurant 5 minutes walk one way and a good pizza take away 5 minutes walk the other way hence in the evening you do not need to go far to be well fed. There is satellite tv, wifi, lots of books and lots of games to keep the children amused. I was so happy with the chalet that I have put a deposit down for next year.

Fabulous chalet, great position.

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in Chalet Chablais, it has wonderful views, is light and bright, super clean and very well equipped. Fresh bread and croissants delivered daily were arranged by Laura which was fantastic. The location is perfect - just a short drive from Morzine or Ardent with a great restaurant within walking distance in the village. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Top quality accomodation!

  • 5 of 5

The chalet was exceptionally clean and well appointed with very good quality furniture. The kitchen had an amazing array of crockery and cooking utensils which was brilliant as we tend to cook a lot ourselves on holiday as we have food intolerances. The location was excellent as it was very close to the supermarket and Morzine/Avoriaz. It seemed like it was set in a non touristy area as it is close to a local school and other locals properties. The only thing we would recommend are snow tyres/chains as the small hills up to the chalet are a challenge when the snow falls! All in all a beautiful holiday and many thanks to Catherine for her excellent support in booking our holiday and very thorough arrival information. A bientot!

Location

From the Owner

We had been on holiday to Morzine during the summer for the past few years, staying with friends who had set up a mountain biking business. We fell in love with the area and started to look for a property so that we could spend more time there all year round. We decided to make an offer for Chalet Chablais after standing on the balcony and looking at the stunning view of the mountains, which at the time was hidden behind some large conifers which have since been removed to open up the view.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Travel:

Geneva airport is 75 minutes away and there are regular transfers by minibus. It is an 8 hour drive to the channel ports. A car would be useful to reach the ski lifts but in the winter the ski bus passes the top of the street (2 minute walk) on a regular basis.

Distances:

Morzine and Les Gets are approx 4km. Lake Geneva, Thonon and Evian are about 40 minutes away by car.

Further Details:

There is a large supermarket 5 minutes away by car. There is a traditional Savoyard restaurant in the village, 5 minutes walk.

Facilities

From the Owner

The chalet is ideally located to access the Portes du Soleil ski and biking area although the lifts are not within walking distance. The ski bus passes the top of the road and you can bike into Morzine on the river trail in ten minutes. Chalet Chablais is also a lovely place to be if you are not a skier. The open plan living area is light and airy, it has a well stocked library and TV and the terrace is a suntrap, perfect for those long lunches! Essert Romand is a peaceful and quiet village, a lovely place to stroll round and explore.
