Ribblesdale is a spacious mid-terrace house with free Wi Fi. Downstairs there is an entrance hall, a separate lounge, a dining room with sofa bed (sleeps 2 by arrangement) and doors leading out to the patio, a fully fitted kitchen and a utility room. The lounge has a 3-piece leather suite and is equipped with a TV/DVD player with Freesat and a radio. The kitchen has an integrated fridge, electric oven, gas hob and microwave. In the utility room there is a WC with washbasin, freezer, and washing machine with drier. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. There is a double bedroom with double bed and large built-in wardrobe, a double bedroom with twin beds and large built-in wardrobe, and a single bedroom with a chest of drawers. The bathroom is fully tiled with WC, a bath with shower over, sink and shaving point. Outside there is a lawn at the front, and at the rear there is a patio area, secure storage for bicycles and outdoor gear and off-road parking for 2 cars.
Hartshill (sleeps 5+2) and Ribblesdale (sleeps 5+2) are adjoining stone-built holiday houses situated just a 10 minute walk from the centre of the thriving market town of Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District. The houses are well-equipped, centrally-heated and furnished to a high standard. Each house has free Wi Fi, off-road parking for two cars, well laid-out gardens with patio area and secure storage for bicycles and outdoor gear. Bakewell is the perfect base for a variety of activities, whether walking, cycling, visiting nearby stately homes (such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall) and other attractions, or just relaxing in wonderful peaceful surroundings. The town is full of character, with a wide range of shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, parks and gardens and a large outdoor market every Monday, including Bank Holidays. Bakewell hosts a number of annual festivals, including the Bakewell Carnival, the Bakewell Show, the Bakewell Arts Festival and the Bakewell Acoustic Music Festival. Note that short breaks may be available at all times of year. Three-four night breaks are approximately 70-75% of the weekly rate so please only use rates quoted by Owners Direct as a guide and contact us for prices. Why Nicky Grandy chose Derbyshire Dales
When purchased, the properties were divided into ground floor and first floor flats. The idea was for our elderly mother to live in the ground floor flat while we would let out the upstairs flat. However, when our mother decided that she would move to a residential home we decided to convert the property into two, three-bedroomed houses and to let them out as holiday properties. This required complete gutting and renovation - a lot of work - and we finally opened for business in April 2011.
What makes this house unique
The properties are only a short walk from the centre of Bakewell so are very handy for shopping and eating out in the evening without the need to use a car. Likewise, there are walks and cycle routes close by. Both houses have secure storage in the gardens for bicycles and outdoor gear so are ideal for those planning an energetic holiday whatever the weather! And both have off-road parking for two cars. As the houses are adjoining, they are perfect for larger groups (up to 14), or grandparents who like to holiday with their children and grandchildren but who also like some quiet time!
Bookings may be made by email or telephone. Payment is accepted by cheque or bank transfer. A non-refundable deposit of £100 for each week/part week is payable for bookings made more than 6 weeks in advance. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to your holiday. Payment will be required in full for bookings made within 6 weeks.
Full-week bookings generally run from Saturday to Saturday, but other start days are possible so please contact us.
Accommodation is available from 3 pm on the day of arrival and we ask that guests check out by 10 am on the day of departure.

Prices given are the weekly rate for the period shown and are inclusive of heating, hot water, bed linen and towels. Note that for Ribblesdale, the price is based on up to 5 people - for additional people, there is a 10% additional charge per person. Myself and my wife and 4 year old son stayed for 3 nights at Ribblesdale and had a great time. The property is spacious loads of room and also an attic -we only occupied a third of the place. All spotlessly clean, comfortable, recently refurbed and an easy walk into the town centre -slightly harder walk back up the hill -but no problem for able bodied guests and a good way of walking off the Bakewell puddings. All the equipment you could want inside and also off road parking which was v useful. We would def. stay again if we needed a short term base in Bakewell.
This place is perfect location perfect interior perfect host!
Booked the Ribblesdale property for a holiday celebration & we couldn't have wanted more. Perfect for a big group with spacious rooms & a large kitchen/diner (there were 7 of us). Bedrooms were very comfy, bathrooms were spotless, exceptional heating system & despite being a middle property it was very well sound proofed.
Martyn was more than helpful & couldn't do enough to help us. Great communication with Nicky, the owner that helped us to originally book the accommodation. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Christmas in Bakewell
My family and I had a lovely Christmas at the Ribblesdale cottage.
It's a lovely place, nice and clean, well-equipped, comfy beds and really felt more like a home than a rental.
The owners did a very good job providing us information beforehand and during the stay.
If we're ever back in Bakewell this will definitely be where we're staying.

Great weekend stay
Ribblesdale is undersold on this website! It is a great location and really lovely spacious property - we had a wonderful time. Arrived to welcome and helpful tour of property with offer to help make it work best for our group. Lots of good walks and food from the front door, rooms worked well for children as well as space for grown up meal one evening. Nicky was very prompt and flexible in responding to our queries and offered us a great price with late checkout thrown in as well. Hope to return soon.

Activity and Interests
The town of Bakewell is easy to find and may be approached from many directions, all of which are scenic routes in their own right. It is just over a 30-minute drive from junction 29 on the M1. The nearest train stations are Chesterfield (14 miles), Matlock (9 miles) and Buxton (13 miles). Manchester International and East Midlands airports are about an hour away. There are regular bus services from Chesterfield, Manchester and Derby.
Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, many delightful villages and fantastic walks are within a 10-15 minute drive. There are also good walks to do straight from the houses. Buxton is about a 20 minute drive and Alton Towers about a 50 minute drive.

- Notes on accommodation: Both houses have gas-fired central heating and double-glazed windows. Both houses are suitable for children and we can provide a cot and high chair at no additional cost. A selection of children's books, games and DVDs is also available. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided, also at no additional cost. These are changed weekly or at each changeover. Please note that in the interest of all guests, we have a no smoking policy and regret that no pets are allowed.
