Spacious Studio with Patio in Historic Centre of Tavira

Located on the ground floor of an old townhouse on a quiet, central street. Accomodates 2 guests.

This studio is spacious, light and airy, 50m2, consisting of a single open space divided by an attractive arch, with a sitting room area, a full kitchen, a bath w/ shower, a dining area, and twin beds. There's plenty of storage space for clothes. It's prettily decorated and furnished. There's a telly, plenty of books, and a desk for working at by the window.

Out back is a sunny patio of 16m2, full of plants, with tables and chairs for meals and drinks outside.

Shops and cafés in the next street. Within easy walking distance of the bus and train stations and the ferry dock.

Reaching the house without a car is no problem. There is a good shuttle service that will bring you from Faro airport to the door, and back again.

It's great being in the centre of town. Beautiful architecture, the ferry to the beach, the restaurants and bars, the central square, the Roman bridge -- all of Tavira is a few minutes' walk away.

If you rent bikes during your stay, you can keep them easily on the patio.

We chose this house because it's elegant, 250 years old, and located in the centre of our favorite seaside town, Tavira.

What makes this apartment unique

This house could be nowhere but in Portugal. Portuguese guests have cried out in delight, "It's just like my grandmother's house!" The street is quiet, and the house is 5 minutes from the central square and the Roman bridge, and 10 minutes from the town ferry to the beach, so there's no need for a car.

Small apartment in the old historic part of town.

Small apartment in the old historic part of town. Only met Alexandra, the owner, on the evening we arrived. Our flight was quite late and she was thoughtful enough to buy us some basic supplies. The apartment has everything you could need. Loved the courtyard for sitting out and eating. I have a back problem and did find some of the backstreet gradients in Tavira rather challenging but apart from that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

Convenient ,clean , roomy , private balcony

The flat is a short walk to centre of town, is very roomy , airy , clean & with cool traditional character. Well appointed kitchen , two large bedrooms & big living room

and sunny private balcony . Convenient for station & shops , restaurants etc.

Stayed twice so wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Tavira is an the mouth of the Gilao river, protected by a beautiful long island beach easily reached by ferry (journey around 15 minutes) from the centre of town. By car you can reach many other lovely beaches.


Faro airport is 35km away. There is a bus link into Faro centre, where you can catch a train to Tavira (30-min journey). The Tavira train station is 5 mins walk from the house, as is the bus station, so it's easy to go to all parts of Portugal and to Spain.

Cleaning Fee £34.96

Booking and payment: Payment of the website's service fee will secure your booking. I do not have online payments. The rental money is be paid to me directly, either in cash or arrival, or via my PayPal account, or a combination of those - whatever we agreement we reach. Please contact me.
Changeover Day: Flexible.
Bed linen and towels are included in nightly rate. Cleaning fee is 40€.
Extra holiday fee for New Year, Christmas and Easter periods.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
