Wonderful Place!
We enjoyed our time at the Cottage. Nicely decorated place with everything you need. Some fresh eggs, biscuits and flowers were on the table on arrival which was a pleasant surprise. Very peaceful and perfect for our little dog. We had a brief chat with Penny on our second day, she just wanted to make sure we were happy with everything and told us if we needed anything, just shout. She was very keen to leave us in peace and enjoy the rest of our stay uninterrupted, which we appreciated. Surrounding area is very pretty and we enjoyed days out, walking the dog and eating at local pubs. Highly Recommend! Thank you Penny :)

Cottage break in Mellis
The attention to detail was perfect. The cottage was really spacious with everything you could possibly need provided. Fresh eggs, chocolate biscuits and a vase of flowers added much appreciated personal touch. Penny is lovely and gave a real friendly welcome.

Lovely secluded cottage
The cottage is set in its own private garden and was decorated and equipped to a high standard. Penny was very helpful on arrival, allowing us to check in early, and the complimentary eggs and choccy biscuits were a nice touch. Derek the dog loved the garden and soon patrolled it as his territory :)

My husband Richard and I and our two sons and moved to Mellis from busy Hertfordshire in 2011. We have family in Suffolk, had often holidayed here and had longed to live here. The locals are really friendly and have made us as a family very welcome, already we feel like we have lived here forever! Our horses, dogs, cats and chickens are completely at home and have made local friends too!! We love being part of village life in a small community .

Why they chose this property

The cottage is on our smallholding and set away from the main house so private and ideal for a relaxing break .

What makes this property unique

It’s garden is full of wildlife and the orchard and patio are ideal places to wait and watch for ‘local visitors’ .
