About the property

2 Bedroom Apartment in Porthcawl, Wales - 8 Min Walk from A Blue Flag Beach

A 1st floor apartment situated in the quiet Rest Bay area of Porthcawl. The accommodation comprises of one double bedroom and one twin with 2 single beds. A comfortable sitting/dining room a well equipped kitchen and spacious family bathroom. The nearby beach (8 min walk), Rest Bay, is a beautiful, sandy, west facing, blue flag beach on the ‘Glamorgan Heritage Coast’. At just over a mile long it offers plenty of opportunities for all-weather surfing on one of South Wales best known surf spots, safe in the knowledge that during the summer months there is a manned life guard station. It is also excellent for beach casting for Sea Bass, ‘rock pooling’ or just relaxing. For the golfer the area is well catered with four excellent courses including The Royal Porthcawl, probably one of the best courses in Wales. The flat is perfectly situated to enjoy the nearby Kenfig Pool Nature Reserve with its lake and sand dunes. It is also not far to the beautiful Gower Peninsular and Brecon Beacons.

Good sized flat - very comfy bed!

  • 4 of 5

Great location. Easy walk into Porthcawl. Leaky shower meant we ran out of hot water as all 4 of us had to have baths. Kitchen was well equipped and response about leaky boiler prompt. We’d definately stay again.

Great functional apartment really close to the Rest Bay Surf School

  • 4 of 5

Tracked down this apartment as my kids fancied having a go at Surfing. Rest Bay is perfectly set up for surf beginners. My children had a 5 day course (2 hours a day) run by Porthcawl Surf School who were excellent and the beach has life guards attendants through the day keeping an eye out.

The apartment was a short walk from the surf school and beach and had all the facilities for out stay. The garage was particular useful to store wet suits and bikes overnight.

A great activity holiday come rain or shine.

The owner was really helpful during the booking and payment process and the local information left in the apartment was very informative.

I hope to return again. Thanks Guy.

Lovely family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in Rest Bay and got very lucky with the weather. The apartment was perfect for a holiday rental. We had everything we needed and the kitchen was equipped very well for cooking for a family of four. The local fairground was a hit with the children though it was only really worth going to at the weekend. Going at 6pm on a Monday was a little bleak. Porthcawl itself is lovely. The people were really friendly and welcoming. We ate in a local pub (Rose and Crown) and it was excellent food. We also got the train into Cardiff from a nearby station in Pyle which was very convenient. The only negative remark I can make is that the rubbish collection on Friday's is incredibly confusing. Not the fault of the owner but ridiculous rules from the local council. If you put a black bin bag out instead of a blue one it will be ignored by the binmen and left for seagulls to spread over the road. Apart from that, the place was excellent value for money and an ideal location.

Owner's Response: I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Apologies about the bins. We have now contracted a private recycling company to deal with the rubbish, so no need for complicated systems! Hopefully we'll see again. Guy

About Guy Morgan

I have been holidaying in Porthcawl since I was a lad. My grandparents had a house just down the road and holidays were spent on the beach rock pooling, building sandcastles and donkey rides, not much has changed! well maybe not so much sandcastle these days. I still love the beach and what ever the weather will go for a walk.

Guy Morgan purchased this apartment in 2003

Why Guy Morgan chose Porthcawl

Having spent so many lovely holidays in Porthcawl as a child when the opportunity arose to buy a holiday place the natural choice was here. It's close to the beach and easy to get to.

What makes this apartment unique

It gives you the chance to get away from it all whilst still having good local facilities. It's a spacious apartment that still feels cosy and relaxed.
