Our nearest neighbours (both farms) are half a mile in one direction and a mile in the other... so the only noise we hear is birdsong! Podlinge is a haven for wildlife and we are the highest point for miles and frequently enjoy dramatic sunrises and sunsets. As well as superb accommodation, you'll have: use of a tennis court; opportunities for holistic therapies (massage & reflexology); and easy access to some of the most beautiful walks in Kent. You'll also be able explore some of Kent's prettiest villages and visit historic buildings, traditional seaside towns and many other local tourist attractions.

About Nessa Neame

Nessa and John both grew up in rural Kent, not far from Podlinge. Nessa is a farmer's daughter, whose parents still farm a few miles away. When expecting their 3rd child in 1995, they moved to Podlinge, where they went on to have 2 more children ... an idyllic place to bring up a family! Having commuted for many years, John runs his own events business from home. In addition to welcoming guests, Nessa is also a holistic therapist, offering massage and reflexology from her treatment room at home. Although all 4 children have now flown the nest, they are regular visitors, especially since the arrival of their gorgeous golden doodle, Dulcie.

Why Nessa Neame chose Kent

Nessa & John discovered Podlinge in 1994 whilst walking the footpath which passes through the garden. Six weeks later, we saw 'our dream house' up for sale, and a year later we bought it! It was the secluded and tranquil location which we loved most. Hidden away down a very small track, off such a narrow country lane, Podlinge was only ever seen by footpath walkers and our own family and friends.

After years of keeping this wonderful place a secret, we now enjoy sharing this idyllic spot with our guests, who seem to love it here as much as we do.

What makes this barn unique

Nessa and John's Grade II listed farmhouse, Podlinge Farm, together with their 2 holiday lets, Podlinge Barn and Podlinge Cottage, are set in the most wonderfully peaceful location, surrounded by beautiful, unspoilt countryside.

Outside: There is an extensive garden/play area next to the Barn, together with a tennis court which guests are welcome to use. The Barn also has it's own patio area, complete with table and chairs. Wonderful barn conversion with wonderful owners

Stayed here for a long weekend in February with friends and family and cannot recommend this little gem highly enough. The location is tranquil and very peaceful but a short walk across the field offers a very charming pub with great character and food. The accommodation is beautifully appointed and the welcome pack offers a lovely touch. The only trump to this beautiful barn conversation is the amazing hospitality from the owners Nessa and John. I can honestly say I cannot remember a warmer welcome and more accommodating couple in all of my travels.

Thank you so much Nessa and John and very much look forward to seeing you again.

A little piece of paradise!

A beautiful barn in a beautiful setting owned by beautiful people. We couldn't have asked for more during our relaxing stay.

A good location to experience the English countryside and for some escapism.

Dream house

Podlinge Barn is the ideal place to spend your holidays! Located in an area with wonderful landscapes and hardly no neighbours (except the owners of Podlinge Barn), it is exactly the right place to relax and enjoy yourself. Nessa helped us in all situations, for example she wrote us way-descriptions, so we always had the great feeling of being welcome. The house is the most beautiful holiday residence we’ve ever booked, as there is enough space for everybody and the owners have thought of everything. Our family was allowed to play with the cute family-puppy and we had so much fun using the large tennis-court… If I had to rate the house on a scale from 0-10 I would give Podlinge Barn 10 points as the house is wonderful and the owners even more.

Our family never went twice to a holiday residence, but now we are already thinking about coming back…
