About Elizabeth Green

Hello, I'm Liz and have lived in Yorkshire for over 20 years. I have 3 children (aged 20+) and live with my partner Mark close to the city centre. We love York and feel very lucky to be living in such a fantastic city.

We belong to a rowing club based on the Ouse so our weekends often find us sculling or rowing through the beautiful city centre.

We have equipped our apartment to a high standard and hope you will find your stay here as comfortable as we do!

Free Parking for 1 car in 4 mins walk away. More can be found in one of several city car parks. More information on these can be provided. A car is not necessary while staying in York as it is a small city and you are close to the centre. Handy supermarkets are just a minute's walk away. We supply helpful maps and directions. There are many great cafes, restaurants and bars in the area. City Screen cinema 2 minutes walk away. Regret not suitable for children under 12. No pets and no smoking. Regret no hen or stag parties. The property has secure entry/videophone access. It is on the top (third) floor of the building & there is a lift. Secure bike store. Outside: The apartment is situated down one of York's quaint "snickleways". There are wonderful views across the higgledy-piggledy York rooftops as we are located at the top of the building. Utility Room: Iron and ironing board, drying rack, vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials (Please note these are provided in a spacious store cupboard rather then a utility room. Hot Water tank also in here.) Plenty of room for storage of shoes and coats. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Weekly cleaning if stay exceeds one week, with changes of towels and linen. Other: Mezzanine level accessed by staircase from living area. Featuring desk, lamp, easy chair, large sofabed. Velux skylight windows make it wonderfully light. Excellent for chilling out or working. Carpeted, with Turkish rug and beautiful artworks.

Wonderful hideaway in the middle of York.

We so enjoyed staying at this lovely apartment overlooking the rooftops of York's historic centre. The flat is incredibly well supplied and full of personal touches that make it feel like a home away from home. The kitchen was very well equipped, the bedrooms quiet with super comfortable beds and the main area perfect for relaxing in. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect home from home

We stayed in this lovely apartment for the weekend as we were attending our niece's wedding. We arrived later than expected but Liz was very accommodating and came to meet us at the car park where she gave us a parking permit for the weekend, only a 5 min walk from the apartment. She is one of those thoughtful property owners who sees the value in providing a welcome pack which was just lovely and we appreciated it very much. The apartment is perfectly located in the city's shopping area and yet is unbelievably peaceful, being tucked out of the way. I cannot fault the apartment. Myself and my family loved it. A positive and comfortable space filled with beautiful things and with everything you will need. We didn't spend as much time in it as we would like but would definitely enjoy it more if we visit York again. Thank you Liz. It was perfect for us.

The perfect spot

We stayed here for three nights in February 2017, while in York for a family wedding. There were five of us - two couples, who used the two bedrooms, and one single woman, who used the sofa bed in the mezzanine. It was perfect for us. We loved the central location. The apartment was immaculate and the owner had left us pastries and Prosecco, a small bottle of milk, butter, and several other goodies. They also left a binder full of the most detailed possible set of instructions for anything in the apartment we might have wanted to use, along with a box full of maps and brochures for interesting attractions in York. The beds were comfortable, the towels fluffy, and the decor lovely and fun. The owner was very responsive to any questions and requests. The building was quiet and felt quite secure. I don't know of any reason that we might end up back in York, but if we ever did, I would love to stay here again.

location, location, location

This apartment was as described. It is clean, well lit, stylish with many amenities--including a washer/dryer. The parking pass that came with the apt was very useful for us. Liz is a very hospitable host who arranged to meet us in the parking area and direct us--over York's very labyrinthine streets back to her flat. Niceties include very comfortable sheets and beds; coffee, tea and milk in the fridge; a welcoming bottle of prosecco and a lovely cake too. As stated, it is very centrally located--we didn't need the car until we left York. I would recommend this flat without reservation. PS--reserve a table at the tiny Hairy Fig for lunch--you won't be disappointed!

Absolute perfect place to experience York

What a fantastic place and location. Our hosts greeted us and explained all the details needed to operate everything in the flat. The treats left for us were much appreciated. The information of places to visit were great as this was our first time to York and we only had a few days. We would recommend this place without hesitation.
