Situated on the banks of the River Tay on the Burnmouth fishing beat this is the perfect location for all lovers of the outdoors Pick up your fishing rod, carry your canoe to the end of the garden, walk your dog without climbing into the car or just set up your art easel, your camera tripod and begin creating with some of the most stunning scenery in Perthshire. We are ideally situated just seven miles north of Perth, close to the main A9 taking you straight into Highland Perthshire where you are able to enjoy everything from 'bagging' a Munro to white water rafting, skiing to sight seeing. For golf lovers there are over twenty golf courses within easy reach with Gleneagles only thirty minutes away. The nearby village of Stanley boasts one of the recently rated top ten restaurants in Scotland.

About the Owner

Peter and Rosie Mackie, having lived away from Scotland, have retired to Perthshire and now live on the banks of the River Tay. In this glorious environment, they have created a wonderful letting property which they hope will allow their guests to enjoy the beauty of their surroundings as much as they do.

There is a small river beach beside the house, with coastal beaches along the Tay Estuary including Broughty Ferry half an hour's drive. St Andrews and the Fife beaches of Elie and others are about an hour's drive

Stanley village is one mile from the Lodge, seven miles from the city of Perth, close to the A9 with easy access to Highland Perthshire and beyond. Stanley Mills, built by Richard Arkwright in 1786, are situated in the village.The drive to Edinburgh is an hour and Glasgow just over an hour

Further Details:

Stanley offers a PO, chemist, excellent butcher and small Spar supermarket, hotel and excellent restaurant. It has a fish and chip shop with Chinese take away. Just outside the village Active Kids offers an amazing outdoor adventure park for children and an indoor soft play area. Stewart Towers Award winning Ice Cream Parlour is situated half a mile away at their farm. Perth, seven miles away, has much to offer with excellent restaurants, theatre and concert hall. Golf courses include Rosemount and Lansdowne in Blairgowrie, Dunkeld and Perth. Gleneagles is only half an hour's drive and will host the Ryder Cup 26-28 September 2014. There is easy access to wonderful hill walking, Munros to climb, sailing on the Clyde, 4x4 off road driving. Nearby whisky distilleries include Famous Grouse, Dewars, Edradour and Blair Atholl. House of Bruar is half an hour's drive as is Pitlochry.

Bookings may be made by email to rosiemackie@aol.com. Availability confirmed, there is a non refundable 25% deposit and full payment six weeks before arrival by cheque or electronic transfer.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is generally 336+Saturday. Arrival time is 4 pm on day of arrival and vacation is by 10 am on day of departure.
