Unique and beautiful house, built with great attention to detail using local stone, and antique terracotta tiles. Spacious living area with both wooden floors and tiled. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, big double fridge freezer. Laundry/wet room with washing machine and second fridge. Well water, solar panels with integrated oil heating and Air conditioning. 2 acres of private land, some laid to lawn and flowering beds but mostly "Mediterranean Maquis". Electronic gates with remote control plus parking for 5/6 cars. Private cul de sac road with no through traffic.

My husband is from Alghero and we have lived here for 29 years. 17 years ago we saw a lovely peace of land for sale and decided to build our dream house!
The area was quite remote but now we have some neighbours but each of us has a minimum 2 acre plot.
The view is fantastic from our hilltop position. The colours of the countryside are striking and mostly all you can hear are the crickets, the birds and the breeze rustling the palm tree.
No traffic and noise, and yet we are only 10 minutes away from one of the busiest and most successful tourist centres of the Island: Alghero. Which has just about everything both for tourists and residents alike. And we are only 15 mins from an international airport.
The property is located in a private residential area of detached villas each on plots of at least 2 acres, so there are no overlooking neighbours.
There are fabulous uninterrupted views of the sea over the rolling countryside and olive groves.
There is peace and quiet, especially by the 13m / 6m pool. Plus security as the property has electric gates.
The town of Alghero and the beaches are just 10/15 minutes by car. Alghero offers a vast selection of great restaurants, bars, and shopping in the pretty old town centre plus traditional markets, festivals, culture and is brimming with history.
The beaches are of fine white sand and the sea is a transparent blue.
This villa exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful stay! Very conveniently located yet in beautiful country - only 20 mins from the airport, 5 mins from a supermarket and 10 mins to charming Alghero town, with sea front restaurants and bars, cobbled streets and a huge mid-week market. Tennis courts down the road were a bonus too. Alison was very helpful, both before our holiday and once there, and kindly did some shopping and arranged a lasagne for our first night as we arrived late. Very comfortable and well maintained villa, with a bathroom for each bedroom, and everything we needed. Would certainly recommend! Thank you Alison.
We had a wonderful stay here. Alison keeps the villa in an impeccable condition - and is incredibly friendly, sharing home grown produce daily. The pool and outside area was lovely - and the views to the coast were fantastic. Only 5 mins drive to the supermarket and 15 mins drive to the town. We had some amazing meals in the area but also made use of the BBQ facilities. We were 10 (8 adults, 2 young children) and it always felt very spacious - both inside and outside. Only slight niggle was the weak wifi connection - but thats the only downside of being off the beaten track. All in all, would highly recommend this property.
I was so tempted to not review this property, so we could keep it to ourselves - but I wouldn't do that to Alison, the owner. We had a wonderful family holiday, and the property met or exceeded all of our hopes/expectations. There were no real issues that we had to refer to Alison, but she was in and out every day cleaning the pool without even waking us; and she kindly shared with us some of the produce from her garden - including amazing fresh figs! When can we go back?
We had a fantastic time at Alison's villa. It is a beautiful villa in a great location. Every need is catered for and it is wonderfully spacious and extremely well stocked.
Alison was a superb host and was so helpful in answering our endless questions about restaurants, beaches and places to see in the area.
The pool is one of the standout features of the villa and it kept our three kids and our visitors entertained for hours on end.
We were sad to leave Il Tramonto after a fantastic 4 week stay but we hope to be back.

We have just come back from a lovely stay in this villa. Staying here, you are vey much tucked away in your own little world with fantastic views towards the sea. The villa is very homely, exceptionally clean and spacious, and filled with everything you need. Alison was incredibly kind and thoughtful, providing a food package on arrival which was very much appreciated after a long drive, and even bought a paddling pool and inflatable for our small children to enjoy. The pool was wonderful and always clean (thank you Alison!). We would definitely recommend a stay here.
We have just returned from the most amazing holiday in Sardinia. The villa was perfect and in a stunning location, tucked away from any noise and neighbours and absolutely idyllic. The pool with its stunning views was heavenly and always clean and lit up at night. The villa was very clean and perfect for us. The owner was really kind and lovely and full of useful information and even organised for a delicious lasagne to be in the oven for us on our arrival. Everything couldnt have been more thoughtful and wonderful. thank you and we hope to be back next year x

The closest Shops are 3km away and there are a few restaurants within a couple of km one of which is part of a hotel complex which also has 2 tennis courts and a Spa; offering wellness treatments and massages.
There is a local riding stable just 1.5km away. for all other amenities like banks, chemists, shops and restaurants : Alghero town centre is just 5km away, where there is also a small hospital and Emergency service.

Bookings must be secured with a 30% deposit at the moment of booking.
Balance payment must be made 6 weeks before travel.
All cancellations will loose their 30% deposit. Cancellations made up to 30days prior to arrival will be charged 50% total rental cost. Cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival will be charged 80% of total rental.
A refundable Security Deposit of £300 / €350 is required.
Payments must be made by Bank draft
Changeover Day:
Generally change over day will be only on Saturdays but it will be possible on certain occasions to arrive and depart on different days.
The villa will be available only after 15.00 and must be vacated on day of departure by 10 am.
Notes on prices:
Prices are per week and include final cleaning. The guests must leave kitchen (cooker / hob / all pans, plates and cutlery clean plus the BBQ and grill must be left clean) Linen must be paid per person (£15 which includes bed linen, bath towels and a pool towel plus kitchen clothes and table clothes).
It is possible for smaller groups to rent only the main house : Sleeping max 8 people. In 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The rental price will be reduced by 20%.
In low season it maybe possible to rent for less than 7 nights and change over day is possible any day of the week depending on availability.
