Idyllic break in the Peaks

  • 5 of 5

Everything about our stay in Sadies was memorable. The owner Sally has made the cottage a real home from home. It is situated in a charming little village 2 miles from Bakewell. There are a number of walks from your doorstep and the views of Lathkill Dale are worth getting up for. The Lathkill Hotel is merely yards from the front door, has great food, interesting beers and even a gin menu.

Originally, my wife and I thought that we would enjoy a short stay with our young cocker spaniel but were swiftly joined by our daughters who travelled from Sheffield and Newcastle Universities to make sure that they were not missing out. Sadies accommodated us all with ease. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back.

Thanks Sally

Hidden gem, in a beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage.

Ideally located to be just far enough away from the crowds but not too far away if the whim takes you to mix with the Bakewell market throng.

The cottage was really clean, tidy and well equipped.

The enclosed garden was ideal to let our dogs out for middle of the night "comfort breaks" without having to worry whether they would run off.

There are fantastic walks with in easy reach and the nature reserve in the valley is a must!

The week went far too quickly but we hope to return again next year!

Gorgeous cottage in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Just back from a weeks stay at sadies croft and it was so lovely. The cottage was outstanding and a home from home, the area is quiet but with lovely views and walks close by.

I would definitely recommend and great if you have a dog. Can't think of anything negative just a prefect place to stay.

Owner's Response: Many thanks Joanne & Margaret for your lovely review, glad you had a good time and found Sadies well equipped and comfortable, the cottage is well placed for a quiet holiday as you say, but with enough going on close by if you want it, including the pub in the village that serves good food and ales and is dog friendly also. And yes Monsal trail is a great walk Hope to see you again soon, you will be very warmly welcomed Sally

Perfect break away

  • 5 of 5

Just had a 3 night stay at sadies croft cottage, this is the 2nd time we have stayed it and it gets better with every visit.

The cottage itself is beautifully presented and well equipped, it's clean and cozy and very welcoming. It's situated in a stunning little village with gorgeous views and close by to Bakewell and all the local attractions within a easy drive.

We bought our dog and the cottage has an ideal enclosed garden with grass area for her to carry out her business!!

Already booked our next trip and can't wait to return.
