Sleeps 4/5, a spacious and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with stunning sea views from the lounge and main bedroom, only a few minutes walk from the beaches and the centre of St. Ives, with its numerous shops, restaurants and galleries. There is a comfortable lounge to the front of the property with uninterrupted views of the town, harbour and bay. There is a large kitchen/diner to the rear of the property with large hob and oven, microwave, good cupboard space and well equipped. The bedrooms each have a double bed, but we can provide flexible sleeping arrangements by providing an additional folding bed for adults and older children, and travel cot for babies. Fully equipped, fantastic sea views, guaranteed off road parking. Short breaks/2 person rates may be available outside of school holidays.

About the property


The Big Picture Holiday Apartments occupy a commanding position above the town centre, with perhaps some of the best views of the town, harbour and bay, and only a few minutes walk from the of St. Ives with its galleries, restaurants and beaches. Both apartments are very light and spacious. The 2 bedroom apartment is all on one floor and sleeps 4 people as standard, in 2 double beds, with 2 person rates often available. There is a very spacious kitchen/diner, and a family bathroom with bath, and shower over. We can provide an additional folding bed and travel cot for additional guests. The 4 bedroom apartment occupies the upper two floors of the building and sleeps 7-9 people (maximum 7 adults), and benefits from 3 double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms plus a single bedroom. The apartments are furnished in a modern style, and have superb sea views from most rooms. There is wi-fi access and they are fully equipped including large colour TV with Freeview, DVD player, washing machine, microwave, plus a selection of books, games, toys. Each has the benefit of off street parking for one car.

- Special rates for 2 people are available outside of School holidays so ask us for a price for weeks between September and May.

- Christmas break available, from 5 to 7 nights, flexible arrival dates.

Booking Notes:
To book, please either phone or email the owner. Bookings made more than 6 weeks in advance require a third deposit to secure the booking, then the balance is payable 6 weeks before your holiday start date, along with a £100 damages deposit. Bookings made six weeks or less in advance require full payment at the time of reserving the apartment.

(We operate a strict no smoking/no pets policy and also have restrictions regarding all same gender groups and groups of under 25's.)

Changeover Day:
The usual changeover day is Saturday but we may be able to offer flexible arrival dates October to May, outside of School holidays.

Usual arrival time is between 3 pm and 5 pm, departure by 10 am. Earlier arrival may be possible at quieter times of year.

Notes on prices:

Payments made through Owners Direct incur a service fee, ranging from 4-9% of the rental, which goes to Owners Direct and not ourselves. Alternatively, we will accept a cheque or bank transfer which doesn't incur any additional fees.

Prices include gas and electricity, bed linen and towels.

Outside: The 4 bedroom apartment has no outside space. The 2 bedroom apartment has a small yard suitable for drying clothes and wetsuits. Off road parking for one car per apartment. We had a lovely holiday in this roomy and well set up property, with caretakers just downstairs and very responsive by phone if you have any problems. Thanks for such a nice time!

Personalised Service and Amazing Views

The big selling point is the view from the living room - which is great - right across St Ives,its the Harbour and beyond. The parking immediately outside was really useful - easier for us with a small car than for the other residents with a van, but it works. The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable, clean and well appointed. There were only two of us which meant we had loads of space. The living room was comfortable with a good sized TV and nice settees. The kitchen modern and well-equipped with the largest oven we've come across and had everything we needed. There is quite a climb from the town, but you wouldn't the view if it wasn't half way up a hill! The caretakers live in the basement flat and were at hand for any problem and were very nice. The owner allowed us to have a different start and finish day which was very much appreciated and helpful. St Ives is a wonderful place as a town to stay in and as a base for visiting South Cornwall. This was a holiday in October yet sunny and warm! We recommend this apartment, St Ives and the company which gave a personal service.

Lovely well equipped place!! Would Defo return

Positives- lovely spacious place, all rooms a good size and everything a family would need. Love the fact it has high chair, toys and kiddies cutlery etc which is a nice to have. Beautiful view from lounge,

Negatives - at night it's a Little noisy as its near an alleyway but not too bad (just the odd inconsiderate drunk) parking space very tight if you have a big car and not easy to manoeuvre

Would definitely return as its a beautiful well equipped place!!!

Fantastic place to stay in St Ives

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment in Feb 2015.....although I m posting this review in August 2015! We love St Ives that much that we are planning to return again in Feb 2016 and seeing the apartment we stayed in reminded me I hadn't reviewed it.

The apartment is an excellent place to stay for 4 people - either 2 couples of 1 family with children who don't mind sharing a bed. Our two boys didn't mind sharing so it was perfect for us. The location is brilliant....literally a 3 minute walk (down/up a few steps) to the town. At the bottom of the steps into town is the cinema and Co-Op. The shop is well stocked and we were able to buy everything we needed for the week in it. The cinema is a bit of blast from the past.....we didn't visit this year, although we did in Feb certainly is an experience.....

The apartment is well equipped, clean and had everything we needed. It also includes a parking spot at the front. It is worth noting that the parking space for the 2 bed apartment is pretty tight. I drive a Mondeo estate and to allow room for passengers to get out and the residents of the flat downstairs to get out of their front door you need to park right on the edge of the area between between private land and public car ended up being scratched twice by pedestrians. However, this could happen anywhere!

I also took my bike with me and their was space to keep my prized possession in the kitchen without interfering with the kitchen itself.

All in all a great place to stay in a beautiful town.

Special interest holidays:

You can learn to surf in St Ives with a surf school only a few minutes walk from the apartment, with Porthmeaor Beach offering one of the best surfing beaches, in the country. There are also sailing courses you can take, and with St. Ives also being a centre for art, painting and drawing courses are available too.


By air

Newquay airport (approx. 30 miles, a 40min drive from St. Ives)

London airport (6 hours drive from St. Ives)

By car: M5 leading to the A30 through Cornwall into St Ives

By train: arrive in St.Erth and change onto St.Ives line

By ferry: closest ferry port is Plymouth, 1.5 hours away.


The apartments are only a short walk from St. Ives town centre. St Ives is well located for visiting St Michaels Mount and Penzance (approx. 9 miles), and Lands End (approx 20 miles). You can also reach St. Austell with the famous Eden Project (40 miles), and Falmouth (28 miles)
