Apartment in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, Canary Islands - Peaceful Location Only A Few Minutes Walk To The Lively Avenida Del Playas And Beaches

Located on one of the flattest streets off Avenida de las Playas in central Puerto del Carmen (Casino area), unlike many streets in the area, there are no very steep hills to climb and only 5 steps to enter this secure complex. This fully equipped, spacious ground floor apartment has been fully refurbished (November 2014) giving a clean, modern feel to the open plan lounge/dining/kitchen areas as well as the bedroom and bathroom. The private patio overlooks a large shared adult pool, children's splash pool and beautiful gardens, making it the perfect place to relax or dine al fresco. Less than 5 minutes walk to the lively seafront brings you to beaches, bars, restaurants and shops to suit all tastes. There is a supermarket conveniently located next door to the complex.

Free WIFI is available in the apartment giving access to UK TV channels as well as movies, TV shows and music via an android box.

All apartments on the complex are privately owned. They can not been booked through holiday companies resulting in a peaceful, relaxing environment. Although the hot water for the complex is powered by solar panels, the apartment also has a newly fitted boiler (Nov 14), ensuring hot water is available at all times.

This property is managed by the owner, Julie along with her family. Julie has worked as a Casino Manager on cruise ships for the past 20 years. Having travelled the world, it was a family holiday that saw Julie falling in love with Lanzarote.

As she can not always be in Lanzorate, Julie has appointed a trusted English speaking contact who lives close by so can quickly assist if any problems do occur. A contact number is provided in the apartments welcome package.

Thanks a million for renting your lovely apartment to us, I honestly couldn't fault a thing, great location, lovely quiet pool area and Caroline and her husband were extremely helpful with the safe,(they came around straight away and sorted the problem) also recommended good bars and places to eat which was useful. The apartment itself was spotless and it was great that there was spare towels while we washed the others. I will definitely recommend you to friends or family who are visiting the island. Thanks again Julie.

we stayed in this apartment for 3 weeks and it was great the apartment is clean and up to date its also in a good area close to every thing we have already booked for next year and cant wait we have stayed in other apartments in p del c but this is by far the best booking was easy and all information was supplied

Highly recommend

This is the best apartment we have stayed in while in lanzorote everything you need is supplied here and if it not no problem it will be sorted. This was our second time staying here and already looking forward to next year. The washing machine is a bonus especially if after being to beach. Spar next door and 2 min walk to main strip while still being a lovely quiet complex.

Lovely Apartment in quiet complex

Recently returned from a weeks stay at the apartment with my Wife and 9 Year old son. The apartment is very well maintained and very well equipped. It has a small kitchen which is suitable for preparing simple meals and snacks. there is a Halogen hob, microwave and a mini grill/oven which is the size of a small microwave. We found this very useful for re-heating the lovely takeaway pizza we got from the restaurant next door to the Spar supermarket. Also in the kitchen is a fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, pans and utensils etc. The lounge has a comfy corner unit sofa that converts into a double bed. The apartment has its own Wifi box which connects to and android TV box which can access hundreds of TV channels and films, including all main UK channels. There is a modern 32" LCD TV and a DVD player with loads of films on DVD for you to watch. My son certainly appreciated the Unlimited Wifi, watching youtube and playing games on our Laptop in the evening.

Outside there is a small terrace a few metres away from the pool with table and chairs and a bench. The pool is unheated so was not the warmest when we visited but apparently warms up nicely later in the year. Overall the complex was quiet and we were usually the only ones in the pool.

The apartment complex is a very short walk from the main strip of bars and shops along the seafront. The Spar supermarket is next door to the apartment and has most of your needs, we found that there is a better bakery section in the Hiper Dino Express about 2-3 minutes walk away, near the Spinnaker Bar.

Overall we found Puerto Del Carmen to be a very nice place for a holiday. We did a day at the nearby Rancho Texas park which was good. Also the Volcano coach excursion was good.

Communication was good with the owner Julie, we were met by Tommy on our arrival who showed us how things worked and where everything was. Thanks for a nice stay, we would go back again.

Great Apt. All you,ll need for a relaxing break.

On arrival at complex were met by Tom who showed us round and explained everything we needed to know. Apt. lovely, nice comfy beds, great facilities. Distance to front as described. A real gem

I cannot rate this apartment too highly, clean, bright, tastefully furnished. It had a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of extras like loads of towels, sunbed cushions, hair straighteners, I could go on. . . The location of the apartment itself was great, if we'd been any closer to the pool, we'd have been in it! But the real recommendation is Julie, the owner. From the beginning to the end of our holiday she was in touch, always responding to any questions promptly. She is an owner who really cares that her guests have a great experience so many thanks to her. I'd also like to mention Tom, thank you for your help and information.

Come and stay in this apartment, you won't regret it.

Fantastic Apartment!

We loved this apartment, everything you could possibly need was provided. Fantastic shower and so handy having a washing machine. Pool and terrace area were exactly what we were looking for and the location was perfect. We'd definitely book this apartment again.

"When looking for a property to purchase, I was looking for a place in the sun that my family and others could enjoy. As my mam is asthmatic, my main focus was to find somewhere central but without very steep hills. This can prove very challenging in Puerto Del Carmen. The location of the Atalaya complex is perfect. My mam loves it, being able to get from the main promenade to the apartment in minutes without becoming breathless". Lanzarote and especially Puerto del Carmen offers something for everybody young and old. Whether you want long lazy days in the sun to relax, travel and see the many sights or you are looking for a fun-filled adventure, the wonderful climate in Lanzarote makes everything possible. There is so much to see and do but most importantly, the sun is always shining.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary


A 3 minutes walk to the seafront and you will be spoiled for choice. Turn right and you have the beautiful Playa Grande, perfect for water sports or just soaking up the sun. You will also find Playa Chica which is popular with families. Turn left for Playa Pocillos or choose one of the many small coves nestled along the waters edge to relax and unwind. With 6kms of beaches, Lanzarote is very popular for water sports including surfers and windsurfers which are a regular site along the coastline.


Arrecife airport is only 10 minutes drive from the apartment. A taxi to the complex should cost around €16.

There is a regular bus service which runs between the main towns of Puerto del Carmen, Arrecife and Teguise/Costa Tequise as well as Playa Blanca. Car hire companies offer competitive prices. There is parking spaces outside of the complex.


Atalaya complex is situated in central Puerto del Carmen so all of the amenities are on the doorstep. A 20 minute walk takes you to the old town.

The nearest island to Lanzarote is Fuertaventura. There are ferries between the two islands leaving from Playa Blanca. The crossing takes approx. 25 mins. If using Fred Olsen ferries, there is a free bus service from Puerto del Carmen.

Being only 60kms from north to south and 25kms from east to west, driving around Lanzarote is quick and easy.

Further Details:

Along the main strip you will find an abundance of restaurants offering almost every kind of cuisine. The small hidden tapas bars are well worth a try, proving popular amongst the locals. Many restaurants and cafes offer full English/Irish breakfasts for approx €2.50. There is a very good Italian restaurant just a couple of doors away from the complex entrance. Pizza and pasta are available for take away.

There is a Spa supermarket next door to the Atalaya which is open daily until 10pm.

Along the seafront you will also find many souvenir, electric, duty free shopping and supermarkets as well as banks, ATM machines and pharmacies. Throughout Lanzarote you will see Aloe plants everywhere. There are specialized shops offering 100% Aloe Vera products.

Puerto del Carmen is well known for its bars and clubs offering daytime and evening entertainment. Whether its karaoke, a cabaret act or just a quiet drink while you watch the world go by, there is something for everyone. Close to the apartment is the Gran Casino (a passport must be shown to gain access to the gaming floor). There is a hair and beauty salon just across the road from the complex.

In the Old Town you can take a stroll, have a wonderful sea food dinner overlooking the harbour or shop for brand names at the Biosfera Shopping Centre. The 20 minutes walk does consist of some quite steep hills so we would recommend a taxi or bus for those who have walking difficulties. A taxi costs approx. €3 and the nearest taxi rank is only minutes away (next to the casino). The bus stop is in the same location and costs approx. €1.30 each way.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is to be paid at the time of booking and the balance is to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival.

Changeover dates are flexible. We do ask that the apartment is vacated by 11am but where possible, we will always try to accommodate individual requirements depending on availability and flight arrival/departure times.

Quiet and peaceful yet only a few minutes walk to the bars and restaurants on the lively Avenida de las Playas as well as the beautiful beaches of Puerto del Carmen. This spacious apartment was purchased in June 2013 and fully refurbished in November 2014. It is light and airy with a modern feel throughout. If you feel like having a cosy night in, there is a 32" TV giving access to all UK TV channels, movies and complete TV series and well as free unlimited WIFI. The nearest supermarket is next door to the complex and is open daily until 10pm. For late arrivals, upon request provisions such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and water can be purchased by our local contact and placed in the apartment for your arrival.

  • Notes on accommodation: Please be advised that smoking is not permitted inside of the apartment or in the complex reception area. Smoking is allowed on the patio and all outside areas of the complex. Although the apartment can accommodate and sleep 4 adults, to ensure complete comfort during your stay, we only offer bookings of up to 3 people. A hair dryer, GHD hair straighteners and curling wand are provided. Sunbed cushions and beach towels provided. Outside: The private patio with parasol, table and chairs for 4 people overlooks the pools and gardens. A clothes dryer is provided. The small garden area in front of the apartment gives added privacy to the patio. The pools on the complex are cleaned daily. There are sun loungers located all around the pool and gardens. The pool area is usually quiet making access to loungers easy. The adult pool has a gradual decline with the shallowest part being approx 3.5'. The well maintained gardens are relaxing being home to an array of beautiful plants and trees. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaned to a high standard prior to your arrival, all bedding, linen and bathroom towels are provided. For bookings of 10 -21 days linen and towels will be changed and apartment cleaned mid-stay. Additional cleaning can be arranged at a charge. Other: A private Meet and Greet Service is available upon request which also includes transportation to and from the airport. The charge for this is €35 round trip and is paid directly to the driver.
