Imagine yourself enjoying a leisurely breakfast, on the patio in your private garden. The only sound is birdsong, or the lambs calling to their mum's. Perhaps you prefer to be curled up on the sofa in front of the woodburner, reading a book, whilst a loved one prepares a scrumptious meal on the range style cooker. Or maybe you have the local information leaflets out and are sprawled on the floor, enjoying the underfloor heating as you plan your days out?

However you enjoy your holidays, Webber Hill Farm Cottages has something to offer you. Dreamcatcher is our detached barn conversion, specially for couples (and up to 4 pets). If you are not bringing pets I will send you a revised quote.

Reached down a narrow, unmade farm track we are located 1.5 miles from Okehampton on the outskirts of the village of Sampford Courtenay. Arriving here feels like you are a million miles from the stresses of every day life, yet all the amenities are easily accessible if you want them.

We are almost on the Devon/Cornwall border so it is very easy to reach the north and south coasts, the moors of Dartmoor and Bodmin as well as the many historic houses and National Trust properties, not to mention the gardens (such as RHS Rosemoor) and 40+nature reserves!

Golfers are well catered for with Ashbury Golf course less than 10 minutes drive from us, and of course Okehampton Golf Club.

If you love cycling we can store your bikes under cover (please bring your own chain and lock). National Cycle Route 27 runs at the top of our track, but if you fancy something less challenging, the Granite Way starts at Okehampton and ends at Lydford, and is one of my favourites, along the edge of Dartmoor but on a good, solid track - my kind of cycling!

For pet owners, your pet will be made very welcome with a bowl of fresh water on arrival, dog biscuit and a pet blanket and paw wiping towel. There are plenty of walks from the door, a favourite being the country lane to Ashbury Forest (about 30 minutes to the forest). We also keep a list in the cottage of beaches where your pets can run off the lead throughout the season.

We have welcomed house cats here at Dreamcatcher, so if you would like to discuss bringing a feline(s), please give me a call/email.

Please note there is a charge of £25 per pet.

Dreamcatcher has one bedroom with a 6ft superking bed (with memory foam topper). The bed can split to make two 3ft twins on request. The wardrobe has plenty of hanging space and hangers and, as well as the bedside cabinets and dressing table storage space, there is a chest of drawers and further hanging room on the mezzanine - along with a day bed ..... and yoga mats!

The shower room is light and airy with a sloping ceiling. The shower is a power shower with a large enclosure.

In the lounge you have a sofa and a leather armchair, coffee table, TV unit (the DVD/CD player is built into the TV and some books and games. And of course the woodburner (first basket of logs free, further logs can be bought from us on an honesty basis).

The kitchen and lounge are open plan so that you can enjoy your separate activities but still feel like you are together.

In the kitchen you will find a range style cooker with gas hob, warming plate and double oven. There is also a microwave. There is also a dishwasher, washing machine and undercounter fridge with a small ice compartment (4* freezer compartment for things like frozen peas or .... ice! But not big enough for lots of frozen ready meals).

Outside you will have patio furniture, washing line and BBQ.

The garden is fully enclosed and as dog proof as we could make it.

About Nicky Bishop

I am Nicky Bishop and live with my husband in the former farmhouse of which Dreamcatcher is one of the outlying barns. We both have busy careers as well as managing the holiday cottage, but love the balance this brings - it keeps us sane! We have lived in Devon for much of our lives and love being close to Dartmoor and the Devon and Cornwall coasts as we enjoy walking, cycling and kayaking, and basically being out with nature

Why Nicky Bishop chose Sampford Courtenay

I have always wanted to run holiday cottages and when we first came across Webber Hill it just felt "right". The barns were just calling out to be loved.

When we drove up the driveway and the space of the former farmyard (now the sunken garden) opened up in front of us, it felt really special.

It is so easy to access the A30 to reach all parts of Devon and Cornwall which is great for the activities we enjoy , but it is also far enough from civilisation to feel like you are really away from it all - although not too far to make going back out to get the shopping you forgot a pain!

There is such a range of wildlife here that every time we come home we just breathe a sigh of relief. It really is like coming on holiday even for us!

What makes this barn unique

As well as being very central in Devon making it easy to visit the coasts of Devon and Cornwall and moors of Dartmoor, Bodmin and Exmoor, Dreamcatcher is in a peaceful location.

We welcome pets and provide food and water bowls, throws, although you may want to bring your own as well, towels and a welcome dog treat. The garden for Dreamcatcher is enclosed and at the front of the property, so dogs can play freely here.

The pubs welcome dogs and our guests are often pleasantly surprised just how dog friendly they are!

The cottage has underfloor heating as well as a woodburning stove, free WiFi throughout, dual fuel range style cooker, superking size bed (or two 3ft singles) and a large shower cubicle with power shower. We provide bath and hand towels.

An initial supply of tea and coffee, and a pint of milk, to help you revive, are provided, along with a bottle of wine.

6 September 2014 We had a wonderful and really relaxing week. Thank you both for letting us stay in Dreamcatcher. It had everything and more. The dogs had never been catered for before and appreciated it. We hope to visit again sometime.

20 September 2014 - We have had a lovely weeks stay in this delightfully converted cottage. it was everything we wanted and more. It is placed in an ideal location for touring Dartmoor and surrounding areas.

27 September 2014 - The little touches that were left for us we great. Our dogs enjoyed the biscuits and the flapjacks were wonderful! We have had a tour of Devon from Dartmouth to Tavistock and over to the Cornish coast at Bude and Port Isaac. The beach at Sandymouth is especially good for the dogs. Just stopping for a week doesn't seem to do it justice and would love to return.

4 October 2014 - Very welcoming and thoughtful host. Some lovely thoughtful touches to arrive after a long journey.Could not have wished for more, except for another week that is! A wonderful, relaxing, comfortable, quiet, peaceful central base from which to explore the area. Would love to return to spend more time in some of the gems we came across, and when we do Dreamcatcher will be our first choice by far for a home from home.

11th Jan 2015 - A lovely short break to kick off the New Year. The cottage is beautiful and surrounded by such stunning countryside. A brisk cold walk up Cox Tor was a particular highlight. Hope to come back for longer next time.

14th Feb 2015: Five Star accommodation, superbly thought out, the attention to detail made all the difference. Wonderful place to chill out, unwind and relax. Lovely walks on moors and beaches. Would definitely recommend to all!!

28th March 2015 - "It was absolute bliss to walk through the portals of this delightful cottage to find tea and biscuits, fresh flowers and a beautiful bottle of wine for later in the evening and the table set for dinner. Never been so spoilt!! And then to top it all, the bed, I think, was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Just like sleeping in a marshmallow!

10th April 2015 - One again a lovely week relaxing here in Dreamcatcher. Nicky and Trev are such lovely people and the cottage is super. Fathergood is a great place to take the dogs and of course beaches, our dogs had a great time at Instow and also Newquay and Salcombe. We'll be back again .....

9th May 2015 - Cosy, comfortable, clean and very well equipped; a fantastic cottage! We enjoyed the woodburner and underfloor heating, the instructions for all aspects of this cottage are superb. We visited Clovelly and Sandymouth Bay, a long drive but well worth it. Also visited the inspiring 'Devon Guild of Craftsmen' craft centre in Bovey Tracey and on to Totnes for a high street of brilliant individual shops. Went to the New Inn twice in 3 days as it was so good. Thank you for all the little extras, it was a perfect short break.

Outside: The private garden is to the front of the property and enclosed with a fence and some shrubs. There is a small patio area with the remainder being grass. A BBQ is provided along with garden furniture (table and chairs). Parking is at the back of the property. Also to the back is access to the sunken garden with its pretty shrubs and pond. Guests are welcome to use this area which enjoys the sun in the evening. We do respectfully ask that pets and children are not allowed into the sunken garden due to the pond which is deep and unfenced. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath and hand towels are provided. We do not provide beach towels. Kitchen towel and tea towels included. All bed linen included. Linen changed weekly for stays longer than 1 week. Washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, laundry liquid provided. Other: Mezzanine - 4ft futon, made up as a day bed with faux fur throw and cushions, second small built in day bed with faux fur throw and cushions. Built in cupboard with hangers and storage. Yoga mats (2)

One of the best cottages we stayed in

We loved everything! The home made cake from Nicky was delicious and we were made very welcome. The cottage was very warm during the nights which is always appreciated. The whole setting was pieceful and calm. A true romantic getaway. We sure will be back to explore Moonseeker next time.

A wonderful relaxing break in this charming cottage, warm welcome with flowers, cake and wine, thank you Nicki. Our two golden retrievers also enjoyed the comfort of "Dreamcatcher" bowls, blankets and bonios provided. Loving the character of the cottage, so cosy with underfloor heating and woodburner.

Perfect in every way ....you won't be disappointed

We have had a fantastic stay in Dreamcatcher and will be returning. It is beautifully renovated to a high standard, clean, comfortable and everything you will need. Superb for dogs with it's own private, enclosed garden at the front and parking behind at the rear door. Dartmeet is a great place for the dogs to have a splash in the water. It is centrally located with easy access to Dartmoor, the coast and Cornwall. Whilst the kitchen is a joy to cook in there are plenty of places to eat reasonably priced. Nicky and Trevor are lovely hosts who were on hand if required otherwise you were left alone to get on with your holiday. Of all the welcoming touches the cake was a real winner which we took slices of cake and a flask out to eat on the Moors. Had Dreamcatcher been available we would have stayed another week. Thank you and we will be back.

A lovely place to relax and unwind

It was lovely to arrive at Dreamcatcher to a warm welcome, a bottle of wine and a homemade cake. We felt our holiday had really started. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit grey and drizzly, so it was good to have such a comfortable place to come 'home' to. The position of the cottage is great as a base to explore the area. Colton Fishacre, (National Trust) and Tintagel are well worth a visit. This is good walking territory but if the weather is fine you are not far from some glorious beaches. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is provided at Dreamcatcher and nothing is too much trouble for the lovely hosts. Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous Conversion with Personal Touches

We cannot rate Dreamcatcher highly enough!

Usually pet friendly accommodation means a 'doggy smell' and a place that's a bit old and grubby - this could not be further from the truth with Dreamcatcher!

We arrived with our dog Dave to find a lovely modern, cosy, clean, fresh property with some really lovely personal touches, such as a basket of logs ready for the fire, a bottle of wine on the table for us, tea, coffee and milk, and most importantly, biscuits, a blanket and towel for Dave!

Dreamcatcher was really comfortable, and Nicky has really spent time putting in a lot of effort to make sure that her guests (and their furry companions) are incredibly well looked after and spoilt and we came away from our stay already looking at the next weekend we could go back!

Outstanding cottage 5*

This is by far the best holiday rental that we have ever stayed in, in terms of comfort and fittings. We chose this cottage mainly because it allowed us to bring our two dogs with us but also because of the easy access from Bristol. It was the perfect short-break getaway. The layout of the cottage is open plan and there is a huge glass window and door onto the garden which lets in the light but also lets you gaze out at the countryside from the warmth of the cottage. As bird enthusiasts will loved watching a huge variety of birds which visited the garden and the bird feeder.

It was doggy heaven for our two border terriers who have been taking in all the sounds of the countryside while sitting in the garden.

The property was immaculate and we lit the wood-burning fire every day to take off the chill but it also added to the cosy ambience. The eco-friendly environment that Nicky has created was very much appreciated.

There are so many walks that we still want to do so next time we hope to stay longer. We loved the walks up on the moors which are just a short drive away.

Thank you Nicky for a lovely few days in your barn.

There are several independent clothing retailers, and a Victorian arcade with some interesting antique and curio shops.

Simmons Park is a very popular open space, with access up onto the moor. There is a Barclays, HSBC and NatWest bank

Short Break Pricing: 3 nights 70% of full weeks rental. 4 nights 75% of full weeks rental. 5 nights 80% of full weeks rental. 6 nights 90% of full weeks rental. 2 night breaks may be available. Please see owners website for details.
