Property

Farmhouse in Gestas, Nr. Sauveterre-de-Bearn, Pyrenees Atlantiques, Aquitaine, France - Situated In A Very Peaceful Hamlet, Just 55min Away From Pau And Biarritz Airport. Sea And Mountains

The house is situated in the Bearn region of France, in the foot hills of the Pyrenees. The country side is green and rolling with the mountains as a back drop. Climate is very mild all the year around, sunny and hot in the summer. Gestas is a tiny hamlet very quiet and private near the wonderful Gave des Saisons. The house seats on it's own grounds with a few trees and hedges making it private. It has it's own swimming pool. It will take 55mn to go to Biarritz and the sandy beaches of Les Landes. Pau is also under one hour., San Sebastian in Spain is about one and a half hours. On the way you can stop at the lovely fishing village of Saint Jean de Luz. All the old features have been kept. They include the original stone fireplace, original staircase and wall made out of pebbles from the river and displayed in the furn pattern. It has garden furniture, a dining table and chairs, a BBQ and loungers. The nearest towns is Sauveterre de Bearn, medieval with a 12thc church and pretty Salies de Bearn is 10km away. We are on the edge of the Basque country with lovely walks and fantastic scenery. There is a wealth of Restaurants in the area selling local foods.

About the Owner

I am an interior designer and product consultant and have lived in London for a great many years. I own two houses that I let in this lovely hamlet of Gestas. I do spend most of July and the whole of August in the vicinity so I can keep an eye on the properties and be of assistance when needed.

Location

From the Owner

I bought this property in 2004 and did massive work to it to bring it to 21st century standards. I also own the property next door called Quilhaut. This is a marvellous part of France, near the mountains and the sea and benefiting from a mild climate. The house is large, very comfortable, nicely decorated and furnished. It has all the mod coms required.
