Cottage in Plouegat-Moysan, Nr. Morlaix, Finistere, Brittany, France - Peaceful Location, But With Easy Access To The Sea And Nearby Historic Towns
Beautiful Breton cottage in its own grounds. With views of the rolling countryside, yet only 10 minutes from the fantastic Brittany coastline; sandy beaches, rock pools for the children to explore, charming ports and their enticing restaurants and bars.
The cottage is typical of the region and combines the charm of the olden days (granite fireplace, wooden beams) with the comfort of modern living. The garden faces south and is mostly lawn, but the sort that allows kids to play football and generally have fun! Enjoy an evening BBQ and watch the setting sun from the West facing terrace.
The house is idéal for familes or couples, offering a calm, relaxing and tranquil holiday.
The cottage on a no through road with minimal traffic.
A perfect location for walks, cycling and exploring the smuggler coastal routes.
However, should you fancy a day out to one Brittany's many historic towns ( restaurants, shops) easily accessible from the nearby dual carriageway. Lannion, Morlaix and Guingamp can all be reached within an half hour.

The cottage is comfortable and spacious, with a fabulous garden that the children have really enjoyed. We think that the surrounding area and setting of the cottage are exceptionally peaceful. Paul, Paula, Sam and Eleni.

What a lovely peaceful place to stay for a family. Although a little disappointed that we weren't as close to a larger town where shops, restaurants & bars are open at normal hours . We found that we had to book in the local restaurants if we did want to go out for a meal and then they would close at 9pm. It was also difficult to get a Taxi, they could maybe collect you from your base but not take you back. My Husband had to drive each time. But having said that we all thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and all the surroundings. My Granddaughter thought she was at a Park each day with the Garden, Swings and Animals that were close by. Susan , the owner was very obliging and helpful. My Brother & Wife came to stay on the last week , Susan brought a bed to put up in the day room for them. So thank you very much for that we really appreciate it. And on reflection of the whole Holiday we really couldn't have picked better place for a relaxing holiday even with the disappointment of the above
Brilliant Mix of Sea and Countryside
We stayed at the cottage for 2 weeks, one week with 4 adults and 2 children and the next 2 Adults and 2 children. We had a wonderful time, the cottage is really easy to find and the outside space hard to beat. We found it to be a great place to unwind and relax, the cottage having sunny outside space with different areas for sitting and BBQ. The kitchen table big enough to sit round and have a lovely meal plus a lovely outside table, really important for those treasured long meals on holiday. The coastal towns nearby are fantastic, you can sail, ride horses, fish, swim, walk or just drink in the sunshine! The house was well equipped and great
From the Owner
“The cottage has lovely views all around and is in a very peaceful and tranquil situation. I came across the cottage by accident and fell in love with it immediately and by the following day I had put my existing house on the market, organised a bridging loan and set about the process of buying it! I have lived in various areas of Brittany for many years and of all the houses I have seen over the years I thought this was one of the most delightful. The proximity to the sea is another big attraction- Locquirec and Plestin-Les-Greves are the nearest seaside towns. Lannion and Morlaix (both with excellent weekly markets) are close by.”
Activity and Interests
The closest beaches are at Plestin-Les-Greves. (10 mins drive) There are excellent sandy beaches there and around the port of Locquirec 15mins.(by car)
All the coast is renowned for its variety and beauty and it would take years to explore them all !
Plenty of walking along the coastal footpaths that take in some of North Brittany's most beautiful coastline.
Windsurfing, sand sailing, sailing and sea kayaking are all available in the area.
A car is essential as there is limited public transport.
The nearest ferry port is Roscoff (from Plymouth and Cork- Brittany Ferries.) which is 28 miles from the cottage.
St. Malo (Portsmouth/Poole) is 98 miles and Caen 180 miles.
Le Havre 240 miles.
Calais 400 miles.
The nearest village (5mins by car) has a small all purpose store combined with a bar.
Plestin-les-Greves (10 mins by car) for beaches, shops, post office, doctor, banks, supermarket, restaurants etc. Also excellent Sunday market.
Morlaix (19kms) for larger shops, restaurants, train station (Paris/Brest) hospital and another excellent street market.
Lannion, about half an hour by car- a picturesque, historical, estuary town with all the facilities and good markets. Guingamp 20 mins.
Banks are closed on a Monday.
Most banks are open Saturday morning and some all day on a Saturday.
Shops are generally closed on a Sunday, but those in tourist areas tend to be open on a Sunday morning- the Super U supermarket In Plestin-les Greves is open on a Sunday morning-also its market.
Bring your own (or buy in store) a reusable bag as large shops and supermarkets do not give out free carrier bags.
Shopping trolleys require a plastic disc or 1€ coin.
As well as the beaches and coast, the cottage offers easy access to explore other regions of Brittany being situated close to the dual carriageway N12 linking Brest to Rennes.
Inland there is the regional park of the Monts d'Aree and during the summer months many cultural events and festivals.
Fest Noz are night time Breton traditional music and dance festivals. Many historic towns have special fairs or Son et Lumiere.

“It is 5 minutes from the main dual carriage way (N12 linking Rennes to Brest)- giving easy access to Morlaix (10 mins) and in the other direction Guingamp (20mins) Both historically interesting towns and on the Paris Brest TGV train line.. The nearest beaches are 12kms and the coastline is beautiful and varied-coves, sandy beaches, ports, cliffs, pebble beaches; each beach with a different character. When you are in the cottage, which has a group of picturesque, ancient farm buildings on the property, you feel a thousand miles from the bustle of modern life, but if you want shops, restaurants or beaches they are all within a very easy and quick car drive away.”
