About the Owner

Broneirion Lodge is owned by Girlguiding Cymru, part of the largest charity organisation for young women in the UK. The Broneirion estate was purchased by Girlguiding Cymru in 1992 after a fund-raising campaign by it's membership, although the main house had been used by Guiding since 1947 as a training and residential centre. The Grade 2 listed main house and Broneirion Lodge were built in 1864 as a family home by David Davies of Llandinam, the Victorian industrialist and entrepreneur. Gordonstoun school were evacuated to Broneirion during World War 2, and still maintain links with Broneirion and the village of Llandinam.

Short holiday in Llandinam

The property was clean and well equipped, well situated and the beds were comfortable.

The pub down the road had very nice food and being in walking distance it was a great excuse to avoid cooking !

Having had such lovely weather we really enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I rented this Welsh cottage for a one week stay. We were absolutely thrilled with it's charm upon our arrival! The description of it being an "idyllic country cottage with stunning views" is spot on. The cottage overlooks a Welsh hillside and fields of grazing sheep. Just beautiful!! The location is peaceful and quiet, and ideal for anyone wanting to travel throughout Wales. The interior was very clean and cozy. Before heading out each morning we enjoyed breakfast prepared in the cottage's lovely kitchen, and had our tea out on the patio table while watching the sheep and pheasants in the fields. We were able to reach all of the sites on our "must see" list and return to our "home base" before dark. We actually looked forward each day to getting back to our "home away from home", and into our comfortable bed after a long day of sightseeing. During our stay we traveled over 1,000 miles! We drove up to Anglesey and Conwy in the North-Northwest region, through the midsection, and down to St. David's and Cardiff in the South and Southwest. What a glorious country to see!!! Whether traveling through the mountains, along the coastlines, or the midsection, Wales is absolutely breathtaking. Not to forget the beauty and kindness of it's people. Everyone we met was just lovely. It was such a treat to experience life in our very "own" Welsh cottage even if only for a week. We were sad to see our stay come to an end. Highly recommend!!
