Villa in Grantown-on-Spey, Scottish Highlands, Scotland - Quiet Location, Yet Within Walking Distance Of All Local Amenities And The River Spey

Rosemount is a large and spacious detached Victorian villa set in a secure 1/3 acre garden and grounds. Situated in Grantown-on-Spey, it is ideally located for all local amenities and yet on the doorstep of the beautiful 18th century Anagach Woods and the world famous River Spey. With comfort and luxury in mind, we completely refurbished our home in 2012/13. Rosemount comfortably sleeps 8 in 4 spacious bedrooms on the first floor. The ground floor consists of the lounge, snug, large open-plan kitchen / diner, utility room and well equipped games room including a brand new American Pool table, added summer 2016! There are 2 bathrooms, one with walk-in shower and the other with separate bath and walk-in shower. In addition to the newly installed oil-fired central heating we have 2 open fires and a wood burning stove. Rosemount is also our own much loved holiday home and we have furnished and equipped it to a standard that we always looked for when renting holiday homes in the past.

We wanted to invest in a holiday home and Rosemount was the house we fell in love with. We make the short trip up north as often as we can, but due to work commitments cannot live there permanently.

Rosemount has the rare combination of being on the doorstep of the great outdoors, with all the Cairngorm National Park has to offer and yet conveniently located one street away from the High Street of Grantown-on-Spey. This small highland town has all the amenities you will need for your Highland holiday.

Notes on accommodation: Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, extra £20 cleaning charge will apply. Strictly no smoking. In order to allow you the minimum of packing for a self-catering holiday, an initial supply of the following items will be available: Toilet rolls, hand wash, bleach, fairy liquid, kitchen cloth and dish towel, dishwasher tablets, salt, pepper, olive oil, tea, coffee, sugar and a locally sourced welcome pack to get your holiday started. From the solid oak flooring to granite worktops in the kitchen; natural stone tiled bathrooms with under floor heating and lighted steam free mirrors in the bathrooms; 1500 pocket sprung mattresses in leather beds to Egyptian cotton bedding in the bedrooms and brand new furnishings throughout the feeling of luxury in our home is apparent. Enjoy! Outside: The rear garden is enclosed and largely laid to lawn. Benched seating, dining table & chairs, BBQ, 11 foot trampoline and swing. Outhouses contain a selection of bikes for the renters use. Renter must check all facilities are safe for their own use and leave all items as they find them. Utility Room: Houses central heating system and boiler. AEG washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Pulley and sink. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Price includes wifi broadband, oil, electricity and initial basket of logs & coal. White fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bedding. Mid week clean is not included but can be arranged at extra cost to the renter. A grocery welcome pack is included. Other: The Games room is accessed directly from the kitchen/diner. This is a large room with sofa, swivel chair and bean bags. Smart TV with freesat, DVD player and Wii console with a selection of games. Football table. Selection of kids games, books, dvds.

Superb

This house is perfect. Well equipped, comfortable, cosy and in a perfect location. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids - Our 2 kids (9/11) loved the trampoline and the pool table and indeed so did the big kids! Great walks both direct from the house and within short distance by car. My kids want to book again for next year, we may become regulars. Thank you for sharing your lovely holiday home.

A lovely traditional house.

The property is traditional but very nicely updated, thoughtfully equipped and a pleasure to stay in. The street is very quiet, the village has all the essentials you need and there are great places within easy reach in all directions.

For anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful country getaway this has it all. We loved our stay and wished we could have been there longer.

Very nice

The house was very nice, comfortable, roomy and in an excellent location. The house has a lovely back yard, a pool table and gaming area most of which we did not get to take advantage of since we would get back to the house late in the evening and basically just wanted to go to bed. The welcome groceries were great! I was very thankful the homeowner has a nicely organized binder with all of the household appliance manuals. We are from the US and everything works a bit differently so we were constantly having to pull out the manuals. We never could figure out how the floor heating or towel warmer worked exactly. Also we ran out of hot water even though we had been gone all day and not used any water since the morning so my husband had to use the booster. About 30 minutes later the water got hot enough for me to take a shower. A small suggestion would be to add some type of shower caddy for the main bathroom as there was nowhere to place my toiletries. Overall we enjoyed our 3 nights here and would definitely recommend it.

Great house in a great location

Rose mount is a fine Victorian house beautifully modernised while retaining much of its character. It is very equipped with a great spacious kitchen and excellent utility spaces. Garden is a large safe play space. Location on the edge of Grantown is a few hundred metres from some of the finest woodlands in Scotland and only a couple of minutes walk from the shops,bars and restaurants. Ideal place for families or adult groups looking for space, comfort and convenience in the Cairngorms.

Oustanding

Beautiful house and luxuriously equipped. King size beds and large power showers plus really comfortable lounge with wood burning stove and a games room complete with pool table. Just a few minutes walk to the centre of Grantown and a very peaceful surrounding area with plenty of places to visit. Elaine the owner was most helpful with all enquiries and I would not hesitate to either recommend or return to this property.
