Delightful Rosebud Cottage offers traditional yet stylish accommodation which has been refurbished to a high standard. In an ideal location within a few minutes walk of cafes, pubs and independently run local shops as well as country footpaths.
The cottage itself is unusually light and bright with a cosy living room where you'll find a TV, DVD player & digital radio. Next door is the well equipped separate kitchen with an oven and hob, microwave, fridge, separate freezer and dishwasher.
Upstairs there are two charming bedrooms with plenty of storage space. The main double bedroom has an original Victorian fireplace and hand painted bedside cabinets, whilst the second spacious single bedroom has the nicest view outside. There is a travel cot available.
The cottage garden is a delight. You will always find plants in flower! You can sit out in the front garden and say 'hello' to the neighbours or relax in the garden behind the house where you will able able to hear the mill stream nearby.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, wash basin, and shaver point. There is also a washing machine and tumble drier. As the bathroom is on the ground floor it may not be suitable for people with mobility problems although the staircase has a hand rail.
Children are welcome but the stairs are fairly steep - typical of a cottage built in the mid 1800s. Children also need to be supervised outside. The garden is fenced but there is a steep bank behind the fence leading down to the stream.
There is unrestricted parking in the street where the cottage is located.
Short stays are possible - 3 days cost 75% of weekly rate. 4 days 80%; 5 days 85% Just e-mail me for a quote.

I love letting out my cottage and do all I can to ensure guests have an enjoyable time. I take great pride in my cottage garden which is full of flowering plants - an ideal place to relax outside ..
I was born and grew in West Sussex not far from my cottage. I spent most of my working life teaching in adult education. Now my main job is running my cottage which I really enjoy.
Jennifer Wilkes purchased this cottage in 2010
The location could not have been better. Near the village centre with great shops, pubs, marvellous cafes and restaurants yet a short distance from country footpaths.
The cottage itself was just what I wanted - light & bright with plenty of character. It also had a second bedroom & and a separate kitchen. I saw the potential for creating a lovely garden. Its position at the end of the terrace meant more space & more privacy too.
The cottage has plenty of character and is such a cosy and relaxing place to stay. Guests comment on how well equipped it is - and often on the quality of the mattresses too!
The garden is an added bonus - a lovely place to sit outside in the summer listening to the millstream close by!
It is in an ideal location for anyone who likes walking - you are so close to a network of country footpaths - yet within a few minutes walk from pubs, cafes, restaurants and independently run local shops.
Steyning is a lovely small rural community - a great base for exploring Sussex. You are only 5 miles from the coast & within easy reach of Brighton.
"A lovely warm comfortable cottage. We spent most of our time with our
family, but it was always good to get back and relax. We would recommend Rosebud to anyone."

The cottage was perfect. We have been to the UK on 11 previous trips and have stayed in numerous cottages before, but none better than Rosebud Cottage.

The cottage had everything you needed and spotlessy clean. We were very ìmpressed.
This lived up to expectations and beyond. It was a great location and had everything you could possibly need, and more. It was lovely and cosy too. We were also left fresh flowers, a delicious cake, tea, coffee and milk, just to mention a few, which made our arrival all the more enjoyable. All the communications with both the owner and the housekeeper were easy to follow and concise. Free parking. Good wifi (by the way could not find this mentioned in the advert), but our O2 mobiles did not work, as no coverage, so had to go for a walk to make calls, which was not a problem. Will be back.
The cottage was very well furnished and comfortable. There was an impressive range of local guides and information. Sadly we chose a time of very bad weather and could not fully explore the walks etc. Steyning has some good pubs and places to eat and is a great base for the South Downs.
Jenny, the owner is very helpful.
Very enjoyable stay in Steyning, a very interesting and picturesque village, lots to do in Steyning and the area.
Cottage was lovely, very clean and welcoming feel.
Would love to return and spend longer next time.
Great location, the village of Steyning is picturesque and quiet yet lively with people. Took long walks on the South Downs nearby and enjoyed the choice of shops in the village. Fabulous English roast beef dinner at the Sussex produce company on Sundays.
We were able to park at local hotel across the road and explore the area
Steyning is a great base for exploring the beautiful county of Sussex. It is at the foot of the South Downs National Park with a fantastic network of footpaths. The long distance South Downs Way is less than a mile away. Consider walking the 'Seven Sisters' along chalk cliffs by the sea.
Steyning is a brilliant location if you love history and architecture. Make sure you visit the excellent Steyning Museum and admire the medieval buildings as you walk around the village. Medieval St Mary's House is open to the public in nearby Bramber. Call in at the Norman Church in Steyning and visit the ruins of Bramber Castle - also Norman. Don't miss the tiny downland Saxon churches in nearby St Botolphs and Coombes.
Steyning is also a great base for garden lovers. Make sure you go to Highdown Gardens - open all year with free admission. I recommend the Sussex Prairie Gardens near Henfield, open from June. Parham House Gardens are lovely and the gardens at Arundel Castle and very special.
If you are interested in wildlife head for Woodsmill Nature Reserve, Pulborough Wild Brooks and the Wetland Centre in Arundel.
It is 11 km (8 miles) to the nearest beach on the Sussex coast at Shoreham by-Sea. You can drive there in about 15 minutes, catch the local bus or cycle along a bridleway!
Vibrant Brighton is within easy access by car or public transport. Make sure you see the wonderful Brighton Pavilion ...
Other popular places include the town of Arundel, Lewes and Chichester. Catch the bus to Chichester on Wednesdays from Steyning!
There are shops, pubs, restaurants and banks within a few minutes walk from the cottage. The Co-op is open until 9 or 10 every evening and the 'Sussex Produce Company' has won awards for its produce and serves high quality excellent food in its restaurant. Meals are also available in three local pubs and other restaurants / cafes. There are some great tea shops too!
The Steyning Leisure Centre -with a swimming pool- is a 10 minute walk from the cottage. You can book classes there online.
