Cottage in Llangrannog, Nr. New Quay, Ceredigion, Wales - Set In Tranquil Gardens Yet Only 10 Minutes Walk To The Beach

Purchased by the current owners in 2007, Ffynnon Fair has been renovated to a high standard and has achieved a 5* Visit Wales rating. Dating back to the 1850's, the cottage retains its own unique character combined with modern comforts. It stands in a private and tranquil setting on the edge of one of Ceredigion's most popular seaside villages. It is within easy walking distance of the beach, its cafes and restaurants but also offers a haven of peace and tranquillity. Llangrannog was recently named by Country Living (July 2013) as one of the 10 most beautiful places to visit in the UK! Re-introduced in May this year for summer 2013 after a short break.

About the Owner

We are a local family whose ancestors have lived in the area for hundreds of years. We have created a property which we love to visit ourselves and find difficult to leave. We have tried to employ local craftsmen at each stage of the renovation and continue to support local businesses where we can. Ffynnon Fair is full of very happy memories for us and we hope you will love it as we continue to do.

Location

From the Owner

We bought the property because we have family who live nearby. Sadly the nature of our work means that we can't live in the area full-time but we try to spend as much time as we possibly can in the area.

Facilities

From the Owner

We love the fact that we can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes. It takes a little longer on the way back because of the hill (particularly if you've enjoyed a good meal in one of the pubs!). There are lots of wonderful walks nearby including one that takes you up over the top of the hill that faces Ffynnon Fair - the views from the top are incredible and you'll feel as if you deserve your ice-cream at the Patio Cafe once you've arrived back at the beach. There's a lot to see and do in Ceredigion at any time of the year. If you get tired of the beach at Llangrannog, there are many other excellent beaches within a short distance. The Wales Coast Path passes right through Llangrannog which is a fantastic way of getting to know the coastline and its rugged beauty.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Llangrannog is located on the stunning Ceredigion coast between Cardigan (11.9 miles away) and New Quay (11.3 miles). The coastal towns of Aberaeron (14.2 miles) and Aberystwyth (30 miles) are also within easy travelling distance. Outside: Ffynnon Fair is unusual for Llangrannog in that it is a detached property standing in its own grounds. The cottage is set away from the road and the main patio area is completely private and relatively sheltered. The owners are keen gardeners and have tried to ensure that the gardens are full of year-round interest. On the main patio there is a large table with sun canopy and 7 chairs. A barbecue is provided and this is a lovely area to eat out in the evening, surrounded by pots of lavender. A smaller mosaic table with 4 chairs is located to the side of the house facing the stream. There is a parking area which is ample for two cars. It should be noted that the property has a stream along one boundary. Although there is a low stone wall between the garden and the stream, we would strongly advise that young children should not be left unattended in the garden. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are included. During a two week booking the bed linen and towels are changed at the end of the first week.
