Guestbook comments from the owner

A truly fantastic place to stay. Chris & Angela are just wonderful hosts. We arrived to fresh bread, jam and cheeses which was perfect after a day of driving. Our gite was warm and homely, with everything you could want in a home from home.

The location is beautiful and perfect for exploring, from Saint Malo to Granville there is lots to do and see. If you want to just kick back and relax then the stunning gardens are fab for soaking up the sun and enjoying the peace and quiet.

This is a true gem of a location and we hope to return in 2016.

Lovely cottage in beautiful rural setting.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was located in a very pretty and tranquil rural setting. The owners were on site and kept a discreet distance, but were also friendly and informative if asked. The house was extremely well equipped, with all the expected mod-cons and more (comfy beds, good heating and lots of hot water). It was warm, comfortable, well thought out and spotlessly clean. There was a pretty garden with seats and loungers to relax on. Also available were Wi-Fi, satellite TV and a good selection of books, DVDs and games. This location was great for visiting all the major tourist attractions in Normany and Brittany but also for enjoying the peace and quiet in the countryside at the same time.

Perfect in Every Way

  • 5 of 5

It’s hard to imagine a nicer place to stay in Brittany/Normandy than Cider Cottage, or a more friendly, charming, attentive, and welcoming host couple than Angela and Chris. Our four days in St. Georges de Reintembault at La Ville Esnou went by all too quickly and our only regret was that we didn't book for longer. Cider Cottage is wonderfully comfortable, beautifully equipped, and spotlessly neat and clean. It was originally a small barn that has been turned into a modern stand-alone residential cottage by Chris, a retired architect - and obviously a good one. The setting is serene - well out into the quiet countryside yet convenient to shops, restaurants, and major tourist attractions. Truly a special place.

Superbly comfortable modern cottage

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this lovely cottage, so very comfortable and well equipped. The gardens are beautiful, loads of birds and surrounded by trees and fields. Angela and Chris are perfect hosts, there to help if you need them but without intruding on your privacy. They are a charming couple and we will definitely return as it was such an enjoyable week. The area is very interesting and picturesque. Thanks for everything Angela and Chris

Merci et a bientot Julie and Eddie
