Having enjoyed many years of lovely holidays in France, we decided to move here permanently in 2012. Cider Cottage is in the grounds of our own beautiful French home. We look forward to making you welcome.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A truly fantastic place to stay. Chris & Angela are just wonderful hosts. We arrived to fresh bread, jam and cheeses which was perfect after a day of driving. Our gite was warm and homely, with everything you could want in a home from home.

The location is beautiful and perfect for exploring, from Saint Malo to Granville there is lots to do and see. If you want to just kick back and relax then the stunning gardens are fab for soaking up the sun and enjoying the peace and quiet.

This is a true gem of a location and we hope to return in 2016.

Cider Cottage, La Ville Esnou, St Georges Reintenbault France

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cider Cottage it is beautifully furnished, fully equipped and spotlessly clean, a real home from home feel. The hosts Chris and Angela were friendly, attentive to our needs and discreet. Nothing was to much trouble for them. We will definitely recommend Cider Cottage to friends.

The location is ideal for beach or country visits which can include Le Mont St Michel, Granville, Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial.

Perfect French Idyll

  • 5 of 5

Cider Cottage is so charming and peaceful in a glorious area to explore. The cottage was very welcoming, well equipped, sparkling clean and tidy. The garden and grounds are beautiful-perfect to enjoy an alfresco meal, glass of wine or in our children's case burn off some energy and have fun! Angela and Chris are so warm and helpful. Their local knowledge was a great asset; helping us to find perfect beaches, delicious bakeries, not to be missed sights/spots (of which there are many!). We loved Mont Saint Michel, Fougeres, Dinan, markets, nearby beaches and the lovely local people. We will definitely be back to Cider Cottage-a peaceful haven in a delightful area. Thank you for such a special holiday.

The stained glass workshops are a recent addition and we hope that future guests will enjoy them as much as you did.

Beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful and spotlessly clean cottage that I would highly recommend.

This home is extremely well equipped and the kitchen has every utensil you could possibly wish for! The gardens are beautiful with two swings, which my girls enjoyed. We particularly enjoyed eating our breakfast and watching the birds at the table! The area is fantastic with plenty to see and do, loads of castles, pretty towns and chateau's, not to mention Mont St Michel.

A lovely stay in Cider Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Cider Cottage was a lovely place to stay. It was just as described on the website. It was clean and well maintained with modern facilities. The owners Angela and Chris were the perfect hosts and we could not have asked for more as far as customer service was concerned. They suggested lots of places to visit and we had many pleasant meals in local restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to my friends and family.

A Fantastic Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Angela and Chris have ensured that we have had a wonderful holiday. Cider Cottage is lovely, beautifully restored to a very high spec and very welcoming. It is kitted out with everything that you need for a self catering holiday. The gardens are lovely and it was wonderful to sit in the swinging chair every morning with the first brew of the day just listening to the wildlife. It was so peaceful and a world away from our busy lives at home. What Angela and Chris don't know about the area that they live in is not worth knowing. Everything from which are the best supermarkets locally to what there is to do for teenage children in the local area. They are exceptionally good hosts. The children loved the American Cemetery and could have talked to Walter (one of the American Superintendant's there) for hours and not just because he sounded like Will I Am! We have already recommended Cider Cottage to our family and friends and we will certainly be returning to the cottage as there is still so much we haven't seen or done. If you enjoy your cycling it is an excellent area to cycle in with lots of very good local restaurants in the surrounding area for your lunchtime stop over. In all our years of travelling this is the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in.
