We are both Devon born and when we were growing up we used to visit Exmouth with our families for the summer holidays. We loved the countryside and sandy beaches and there were always plenty of interesting places to visit and things to do for all of the family.

Neat & tidy house

We are no strangers to Exmouth but as our son was getting married we felt we should not stay at his house. This house gave us just what we needed, a comfortable base not far from amenities and in a quiet area. The house is well equipped and sitting in the sunny back garden was very pleasant. The availability of wi-fi was an added bonus.

Avonlea Exmouth very relaxing house, home from hom

Avonlea is a lovely house with all mod cons you need short driving distance into Exmouth. I can recommend the Jurassic cruise with Stuart Line cruises a lovely trip. Exmouth beach is great too and exploring the area.

Lovely wine tea milk on arrival which was very enjoyable after car journey, nice gesture Colin and Jo.

Avonlea, Exmouth

Very clean and comfortable house on a modern housing estate located on the edge of Exmouth with good road links to all coastal attractions. Internet photos do not do the property justice. Kitchen appliances very good. Attractive rear yard, which although overlooked, still feels private and never a neighbour seen. Would certainly recommend. Best beach is Sandy Bay. Superb fish & chips at eastern end of Exmouth beach. River trip on River Exe is fun. Stunning coastline at Ladram Bay & visit Branscombe village.

Avonlea is a very comfortable and relaing home.

Avonlea is a very comfortable and relaxing home with every amenity in a quiet road. The house was very clean and bright, beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of spare towels and linen provided. Great to have a proper sized freezer with the fridge. Weather on our first night was quite cold and windy so we needed to have the central heating on but couldn't work it out so Colin was only to happy to pop round and sort it out for us. Very handy that they live so nearby. The location of the house is excellent with Lidl and Tesco just minutes away in the car as well as Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth.

We highly recommend a visit to Otterton Mill which has a lovely restaurant with excellent food or just a coffee and snack, delicious home baked bread, a lovey gift shop. We also took a great circular walk there along the river which had lots of brown trout and signs of beaver along the bank.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avonlea, Colin and Jo are excellent hosts and there is lots to do in the area. We look forward to returning, God willing.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to buy our holiday home in Exmouth in December last year and have taken pleasure in preparing it for holiday use for the first time in the summer of 2013. We hope that you will find it a lovely place to stay.

Activity and Interests


Whether you are looking for a relaxing family holiday on the two miles of golden sandy beach, leisure activities such as kite surfing or bird watching on the idyllic estuary or enjoying the stunning scenery of the majestic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, or a base to enjoy the best of Devon and the Westcountry, then Exmouth is the perfect holiday destination for you.


Only 10 miles from Exeter International Airport and the motorway. Leave the M5 at junction 30 at Exeter, turn south on A376 (the Exmouth Road at the 1st roundabout after the motorway by Clyst St Mary) to Clyst St. George, fork left travelling onward through Lympstone and straight on to Exmouth


From Exeter City centre (Riverside) take the Topsham Road south for 3 km (2 miles) through the Countess Wear roundabout and 3 km (2 miles) to Topsham and continue by Lympstone to Exmouth

Further Details:

Exmouth Train and Coach Station is a short taxi ride away. The bus stop for travelling into Exmouth and Exeter is a 1 minute walk from the property, and a General Store and Cashpoint, Fish & Chip Shop and Chemist are a two minute walk. There are a range of local shops and a Tesco Metro and Petrol Station 2 minutes drive away in Brixington and Lidl and Tesco Supermarkets (24 hour) are a 5 minute drive from the property.

Notes on prices:
Shorter Breaks (3 days minimum) are normally 70% of weekly tariff (minimum £195) dependent on availability.

10% discount for booking two consecutive weeks (excluding July/August and Christmas/New Year).
