House in Edinburgh, Lothians, Scotland - Peaceful Location With Good Transport Links To All Parts Of The City

This spacious house is modern and situated in a lovely part of Edinburgh. It is situated near two parks, both less than 5 minutes walk away. There is plenty parking on the street, but also close to many bus stops. The tram stops 10 minutes from the house. Edinburgh zoo is 10 minutes walk away. Murrayfield International Rugby Stadium is 5 minutes by car and only 10 minutes in the bus. The garden is enclosed so it is suitable for children,and it gets the sun in the evening so it is a good place to relax after a

hard day sight seeing. There are many shops close by and the Gyle shopping centre is 5 minutes by car.

About the Owner

The property is owned by Margaret and Mick Wood. We live in Derbyshire and have two children Hayley (29)and Ross (26) and 2 grandchildren, Demi and Jacob.

The house was the childhood home of Margaret. It has been in our family since it was built in 1958.

Edinburgh has very strong ties for me and although my home is in Derbyshire I wanted to keep a base in Edinburgh. The whole family now enjoy holidays in Edinburgh, now with their own families and friends.

I wanted my grandchildren to be aware of their Scottish roots and there is so much to show them in and around Edinburgh.

We rented this property for a few days in October 2016. Lovely house in a very well kept Neighbourhood. Close to all amenities, shops bus stops and Trams, Magaret keeps a very clean house very comfortable everything you need for your stay. lovely big spacious bedrooms. I would recommend this property to all of my friends and Family.

Great week

We rented this lovely home for a week while attending a family wedding. Great spot, handy to transport and also taxis to city were never over £15. Really nice to be able to relax back 'at base' when it was such a busy week.

Highly recommend this clean well presented home.

Stayed for 4 nights,lovely accommodation,clean,good size rooms

,a lovely homely feeling. Area very quiet and peaceful, good access to main transport routes and trams close by,very handy for murryfield stadium.have already recommended it to family and friends and very much hope to use it again soon. No wifi might put some people off but not us. Thank you Margaret and Mike, was a pleasure .

From the Owner

The house is in a very good location both for Edinburgh itself and all the transport links. A car is not essential but there is plenty free parking outside the house. We completely modernised it and set it up as the type of holiday let we ourselves would want. We hope our guests enjoy staying as much as we do.

Nearest Airport : Edinburgh at 4.3 Miles Nearest Barpub : Corstorphine inn at 0.5 Miles Nearest Train : Haymarket at 4 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Various at 0.5 Miles Nearest Beach : Crammond at 4 Miles Car: not necessary


Crammond beach is 15 minutes by car


Edinburgh airport is 10 minutes by car and there is also a bus which stops 10 minutes walk from the house. The tram stops 10 minutes from the house. Haymarket station is also only 10 minutes by car. A car is not necessary as there are very good transport links into the city and all attractions in and around Edinburgh.


The Ryder Cup venue (Gleneagles) is approximately an hours drive away.

Further Details:

There is a large 24 hour Tesco 2 minutes drive from the house. The village of Corstorphine has many pubs, restaurants, shops and banks and is only 10 minutes walk from the house.

Please ring us if you have any questions about the house or area. Booking is done directly with us. A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking and full payment must be made 6 weeks before arrival. A security deposit of £100.00 is required and this will be return after the cleaner has been in at the end of the holiday.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually Saturday but the house can be let for weekend or mid week breaks. 3 nights is the minimum let. Arrival is 3pm and departure is 11am.
