About the Owner

My family and I live here in North Cornwall with our Golden retriever Chester and cat. Lured by the fabulous beaches and outstanding scenery we moved down from Salisburyyea4 years ago. The area has so much to offer from natural beauty to fantastic restaurants and historic houses and gardens. I work part time as primary school teacher and my husband busies himself with various projects around the home and garden.

Our first holiday let was The Hayloft, which is a cosy studio apartment above our garage, that has proved very popular over the last 2 years year. Following its success and our enjoyment in meeting guests we have purchased Homestead in Port Isaac, a quaint old fisherman's cottage. Both properties provide brilliant bases to explore all the North Cornwall area has to offer.

The Hayloft was a perfect base to explore some of the best bits of Cornwall.

Our hosts Bob and Scilla made us feel incredibly welcome! Thank you for making our holiday very special.

Beautiful accommodation and very kind hosts

  • 5 of 5

The Hayloft has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Cornwall. As I was travelling alone with my dog, the space was warm and welcoming and very pretty with views over rolling countryside and the sea in the distance.

The scones and friendly welcome continued to make this a special holiday; I was in easy reach of so many lovely places and coming home was always relaxing; Rocket the dog making my dog especially at home.

The kind helpfulness of Scilla and Bob was shown particularly when I managed to break my ankle; they went above and beyond; looking after me and my dog and taking me to hospital to get treated.

Cornwall was a very beautiful place and the people most welcoming. I hope to return and would definitely stay at the Hayloft again.

Perfect bolt hole in Pendoggett

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful weeks stay in the Hayloft. Bob and Scilla were lovely from the second we arrived. Nothing was to much trouble. They also have great advice for places to visit. The Hayloft itself was perfect for what we needed, somewhere central to the places we wanted to go. The kitchen had all the essentials and more, also there is a BBQ that you can use- we did take full use of this one night. We found some lovely places to eat locally- Kew Inn and some lovely not so local. Loads of beaches near by. We would visit again. The only negative and it only bothered us for 1 or 2 nights until we got used to it, is there is a busy road out front and you could here the road noise. We had to have window open as so hot! Excellent stay and I would highly recommend.

our weeks holiday in Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

Excellent all round base to see North Cornwall. Scilla and Bob were most helpful, the " bijou " hayloft was perfect for our needs. The nearby farm shop (great for cream teas) and St.Kew Inn good for food and drink.

Would definitely stay there again.

Little gem

  • 5 of 5

Compact and bijoux! Lovely little property, well kitted out and well placed for exploring the area, the Cornish cream tea on arrival was delicious and a very welcome touch!

The accommodation is is prettily decorated, clean and has all you need for a great base. Bob and Scilla were fantastic hosts and always on hand to offer advice or provide local information.

Good pubs nearby especially the Kew inn, fabulous food but you will need to book. The Cornish Arms is within walking distance of the property and fine for a reasonable meal and drink if you don't want to drive anywhere. All in all a fab little place with all you need for a lovely break!

Lovely accommodation, very relaxing short break. Owners were very welcoming, with a super cream tea on arrival, which was much enjoyed. Accommodation in a very good area for exploring the North Cornish coast. Dogs made welcome which is a bonus. Will definitely return again.
