About Caroline Brownsell

Hello We are Rob and Caroline Brownsell.

Rob is from an old East Runton fishing family who have lived here in the village for generations. Before he retired Rob followed generations of his family into the fishing business where he fished locally from the shore at East Runton for crabs and lobsters on his boat the "Alicia". He has many a story to tell!

Caroline originally from London settled and made her home here.

We have a 10 year old son who loves the beach and exploring the rock pools but especially loves crabbing!

Together we have tried to make Bay Tree Cottage a real home from home experience for our guests. So thank you all for your lovely comments and reviews.

Caroline Brownsell purchased this cottage in 2012

Lovely week in Norfolk!

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely week in Baytree Cottage. Caroline could not have been more accommodating, particularly as we were taking an active toddler with us, putting up stairgates for us and other things to make it a more relaxing holiday. There was a lovely welcome basket and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed. It also has a nice outside space which we didn't get to enjoy as it was too wet. East Runton is in a really great spot and, whilst we didn't spend a lot of time in the village and on the beach due to bad weather, we did find it a great location for driving to all the places we wanted to go to. Norfolk has so much to do, particularly with small children, and we had a brilliant week.

Superb Property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely little property in a quiet location on a nice street. Plenty of room, and very well equipped. It had a very nice feel to it, and was welcoming and cosy. You can walk to Cromer along the beach quite easily, for the Fish and Chips and Penny Arcades etc if you do not want to drive in, and can collect a few pebbles and shells along the way. Would definitely put it on our short list for the next time we visit Norfolk. Thanks again, it was just what we needed. Regards, Ben

Special interest holidays:

Close to bird watching areas of Cley and Salthouse Marshes and the famous North Norfolk Coastal Path and Weavers Way walks. There are lots of quiet local paths and tracks for you to explore, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside on the doorstep.

Bay Tree cottage is in a quiet village location it is minutes walk to the beach which is wide and sandy, with lots of rock pools full interesting finds, ideal for children to explore! It also has it's own RNLI lifeguard too during summer months.

Norwich airport is located approx 18 miles from East Runton. There is also a good public transport network in the area including the Coast Hopper which stops in the village, and is great for getting out and a great way to explore the villages up and down the coast road

There are two pubs in the village, a butcher and a village store (open long hours) a newsagents and teashop. There is also a Greek restaurant "Constantia" in the village and a Fish and Chip shop. East Runton just is a few miles from the traditional seaside towns of Cromer, with its Victorian pier. And Sheringham.

Further Details:

Bay Tree Cottage is close to the Norfolk Coastal path which leads over Ingleburgh Hill (one of the few hills in Norfolk)!

There is lots to do within easy reach of the cottage, and we have endeavoured to provide a comprehensive pack of tourist information at the cottage. In the meantime here are are just a few of the nearby attractions to wet your appetite:

North Norfolk Steam Railway - starts at Sheringham

Amazonia Zoo - Cromer

BeWILDerwood an award winning wild and imaginative adventure park with magical tree houses and a hint of intriguing characters,

Gressenhall- a former workhouse visitors can see recreations of craftsman's workshops, a bakery, shop and cottage
