Relaxing break for all of our group

Three families with children ranging from 10 to 16 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Meads. The house was well provisioned and the 'Welcome Pack' left by the owners excellent. Detailed information meant it was easy to use the facilities as well as knowing what was going on in the surrounding area. The grounds of the house are superb with plenty of space for children and adults to enjoy themselves. The village of Edale was an ideal base to go walking from and thereby enjoy the Peak District. Two good pubs within close proximity of the house made easy to recuperate after a hard day's walk.

A joy to be there

Our week spent at The Meads and in the annexe recently was a really special time! Three generations of our family met, in part, to celebrate the anniversary of the birthday of a much loved granny. The sense of space in both the house and garden, together with the numerous thoughtful and useful touches ( and the vibrant decor!) all helped to make this a really memorable and enjoyable week. Birthday bash !!

This house has everything it promises in the owners information details.

I booked it for a family celebration for my 70th Birthday with 6 adults and 5 children and it was superb with plenty of space inside and outside in the delightful grounds. We have not stayed in a better equipped house - it has everything you could need. The welcome cake and fresh bread etc was a

Fabulous house in wonderful setting

Had a fabulous long weekend here in April. We're a group of 12 women who get together every year for a Spring break and this house was perfect for us. Wonderful, spacious rooms with plenty of character and a brilliant garden with so many interesting areas to explore - and the trampoline was a particular hit. Fantastic welcome from the owners - and house so well-equipped - they've thought of everything. Highly recommended!

Superb Accommodation, In An Idyllic Setting

This was an excellent place to stay for 8 adults and 6 children. We had a wonderful time, so much so that we have booked for the following year! The accommodation was of a high standard and there was space for all to either chat or have some quiet time, A lot of thought had been undertaken by Margaret and Graham in making the experience pleasurable, from the thorough information about the property before arrival, the range of welcome goods, and the warm greeting when we arrived. The range of children's games both inside and out in the grounds was very much appreciated, Whilst Edale might be thronged with people , the grounds were extensive, well kept and offered endless opportunities to explore.in a peaceful environment . The BBQ areas and open fire area allowed us to have a leisurely meal outside, whilst the well equipped kitchen enabled us to cook for the group without coming to blows! An ideal place to relax and catch up with family.

I am sure you are a lovely group and we look forward to meeting you all, I know you will look after this lovely place and enjoy your stay with us, but because we run a group booking house, and not everyone is as respectful as yourselves sadly, our insurers ask us to send out the info below on our correspondence. 
The group organiser is the person on the booking form and is responsible for all other members of the group. By booking with us you have agreed to our terms and conditions.

We always meet and greet between 5.00pm and 6.00pm or later by prior arrangement, we never leave a key as we like to meet the group organiser and run through some information you will need during your stay.
Your booking is for 11 persons max for ’the meads', 3 persons max for ‘the garden wing’ both properties 14 persons, our insurance covers those persons booked at the property, we do not allow persons outside of the booking group to use the property at any time, unless by prior agreement, our insurance is very strict about this we have to be also.

We want all our guests to enjoy a well run,unique and much loved property.As owners we run it ourselves ensuring that the property is up to our high standards and are very generous with extras  Many ‘single group’ i.e hen parties etc, have had a great time here and are welcome.However, we will not tolerate rowdy or noisy behaviour upsetting to our neighbours or village, we are a no pets property, no smoking and no candles property.   We check everything in the property is working and nothing is broken, We do not charge for minor damage.  Self-catering accommodation is to be left as it is found.  What we consider to be excessive damage or cleaning will be charged at cost and if we have to refund other guests that will also be charged.

We reserve the right to to ask a group to vacate the property at any time, without refund, if our terms are not observed, the property is not being cared for,  or we feel that their behavior is inappropriate

The property offers the opportunity to escape both to the open country as well as Manchester or Sheffield by train! Or you can walk to one of the two pubs with log fires and summer gardens or cafes, which are only a 5 minute walk. Next door to Castleton, with its castles and caves and gift shops and restaurants, close to Chatsworth, Haddon and Bakewell. Lots of culture at Buxton Opera House. The Meads sits in its own 4 acres of secluded gardens with extensive secure parking. You are far enough away to have peace and quiet yet still in the heart of the friendly and historic village of Edale which we love.
